The day I found out that I had a tumor growing in my head.
Samuel proposed to me.
My mind was in a mess, and for a moment, I suspected that he knew everything.
He hesitated for less than thirty seconds, then stood up from the ground, putting the ring box back into his pocket and glancing at me with an indifferent expression.
"It was at my parents' request. If you don't agree, it's fine."
I felt a sense of relief in my heart.
As expected.
He always liked to play jokes on me.
Probably this time, he thought I was using my parents to pressure him into marrying me.
That's why he put on this act of proposing to humiliate me.
I silently lowered my outstretched hand and smiled at him, "What if I agreed? Would you marry me?"
He looked at me without saying a word.
The answer was as clear as it could be.
To be honest, it was quite hurtful.
"If you don't marry me now, you might never get the chance to marry me in the future," I said, trying to hold back the heat in my eyes.
Samuel didn't seem to care. He took off his jacket and placed it on the back of the sofa, with a hint of sarcasm in the corner of his mouth. "Are you sure there will be that day?"
He always seemed to know what was going to happen.
Indeed, I wouldn't live to see that day.
