The oath I muttered was succinct and ungentlemanly. Lowering my head, I crushed my mouth with hers, my mood suddenly savage.
I plundered, needing to prove something.
Passion rose in me, a sleeping giant suddenly awakened. I would have denied my need for her with my dying breath, but I could no longer lie to Myself. I wanted to take her, here and now.
I told myself if I had her just once, then I
would be free of her. I told myself she was no different
than a dozen other women I'd known.
Then Amber sighed my name, and I told myself I was a damned liar.
