I had just landed my tray with a lunch meal on the table when I immediately saw Luis, he was currently eating with another doctor. I've liked him for a long time since he was my senior and I am his junior way back in our med school year. In the eyes of others, he was like an older brother to me. We were always together then, we often studied together that's we're always mistaken as a couple. Unfortunately, Luis only considers me as his younger sister.
I just sighed when I remembered that, I lowered my gaze to the food and just started eating.
Someone smirked in front of me, I even looked up to see who it was "Can I sit down?" he asked. I thought for a moment about what I would answer because it was Ivo. He was the only doctor who operated on two couples who were diagnosed with cancer and at the same time were HIV positive. He is indiscriminate, tall, and handsome but honestly, he's not my type.
"Sure" I replied to him. He immediately sat down and I noticed he was looking at Luis, I followed what he was staring at and there I realized he was looking at Chesca if I had not mentioned before. Chesca is Luis' girlfriend. I checked the way he looked, well there was nothing wrong because it wasn't sticky but gradually it became clear to me what he was feeling for her. I can see the pain in his eyes like he doesn't like what he saw.
"Ehem, Ahm... May I ask you a question?" he turned his looks to me.
"You're asking me already" he replied without emotion, he even raised his right brow.
"Ahm, do you like Chesca?" I asked, he just looked me in the eye and looked at Chesca again. He wasn't just an inclement, he was also a snob.
"Hey!" I called his attention and moved the table slightly so that I could get his attention again.
"Yea, how about you? Are you in love with Luis?" I stopped because of his sudden question, is it too obvious?
"Yup, but our destiny doesn't agree with us. I can't believe that we have the same situation, our lives are almost the same, what? Is it okay to you just stare at the two while loving and caring for each other while we're here, we almost lose our appetite for what we see" I said while laughing but my smile slowly fade when I noticed he didn't care about what I just said? His face became serious so I just calmed down.
"I know a way to make the things we want to happen" I don't know if I'll be scared or happy because of what he said.
"What?" full of curiosity I asked him.
"Let's be-" he didn't finish what he was going to say when my phone rang and I saw there the name of Ms. Ignacio, the head nurse of the ER. I immediately tap the answer button.
"Hello?"
"Doc. There is a patient here in the ER. Doctor Santiago is not here"
"I'm on my way."
I got up from sitting, I was going to say goodbye to Ivo but he seems to know what happened because we are both doctors. When I first went to the ER, Nurse Miki welcomed me and told me what had happened to the patient, I first examined the patient, and there I found out that he needed to be operated on immediately.
"Please call, Dr. Luhan of Cardiothoracic Ward. We need his assistance," I ordered Miki then she started to dial a number.
I changed my clothes and acted quickly, good thing because when I arrived in OR everything was fine.
"Ready?" I asked them as they looked at each other.
"Yes, Doc" they answered me at once. I took a deep breath before starting the operation.
"Scalpel"
"Bovie"
"Clamp"

The heart surgery ended and that's when I found out that it was Doc. Cramer patient, the doctor who was the most flirtatious here, sorry for the term huh? but that's the truth. Gosh! She even managed to date while her patient was about to die and still she got the nerve to ignore our call. My foot is already sore because I was just standing for the whole operation but I am also used to it, I've been working here in the hospital for a few years.
When I came out of the OR I met the patient's mother.
"Doc how is my son."
"Your son is fine, the operation was successful," I said.
"Thank you very much, Doc"
"Nothing, I'm just doing my job" I replied to her and smiled at her.
I was overwhelmed by the feeling that the reason I hadn't eaten properly these past few days was because of a series of surgeries. I went to the Coffee Vendo to get coffee and to be able to rest for a while. When I ran out of coffee I decided to go to the ER and there I saw Ivo and immediately approached him.
"So what were you're saying in the canteen?" I asked him but he still focused his full attention on what he was doing.
"I'm sorry, there was an emergency earlier so I left you" I added when I didn't get an answer from him.
He laid down the paper and ballpen he was holding on the table and turned to me "You know Doc. Brenza ... You're beautiful" Ivo, you're in the right frame of mind.
"Thank you" he sighed so I was surprised.
"Be my girlfriend" my smile earlier that formed because of what he said faded. Gradually, the expression on my face really changed.
"HUH!" I reacted to what he said, the other nurses and patients looked at me, I smiled at them and simply apologized while still scratching my head.
"You don't have to shout, what I mean is ... think of me as Luis and I'll think of you as Chesca. I know that you have a desire for Luis as much as I need Chesca. Let's use each other to meet those needs "he explained. I was struck by what he said, I immediately remembered when I was staring at Luis' picture and then I thought I was kissing him.
"I'll think about it." I had a hesitant answer to him.
"Go, think of it" he replied and left me alone. I was confused again in my senses, my head hurt even more because of his proposal. Is he serious? Maybe later he also had a psychological problem and suddenly went crazy.
It's hard for me to think because we both know that even if we turn the world upside down nothing will ever change, he won't be Luis and I won't be Chesca.
