Chapter 1

"Belle, wait" a male voice sounded in the lobby of the building where he lived. "Belle, please" he said as he ran after the girl in front of him.

"Just stop, dammit!" He yelled. The girl stopped and stood with her back turned. "Come, Belle" he beckoned to her and just like someone in a daze she turned and walked to him, the man smiled Inwardly as he made to reach her but something unexpected happen next.

The girl had slapped him, slapped him so hard he lost his balance and fell right at her feet.

"Stay away from me!" The girl screamed and walked out the door.

Belle was sure she was cursed. What other explanation could they be? Why else would bad luck sought after her this way? She flung the strands of her silky black hair that fell across her face and cleaned her teary cheeks with her palms as her silver tinted green eyes wandered around aimlessly.

She had caught them red-handed, James and Nyera, her boyfriend and best friend respectively. James had cheated on her with her best friend!

"Oh, God...." She groaned as she grabbed her shirt, her feet dragging her across the street. She had not brought her car so she would have to take public transport.

It had been one of those rare days when Belle decided to pay her boyfriend a surprise visit. The beautiful twenty-one year old had dressed in her favorite shirt with James name on it. She had got it for them on their last anniversary. It was a saturday anyway, so she didn't have to drop her younger brother at school, he could just stay with their oldest sister.

"Penny, Ken I'm going out" she said, searching for her car keys.

"Belle?" Penny ; her older sister, called from the kitchen as she rolled her wheelchair over to Belle. "Where are you going to?" She asked suspiciously.

Belle shrugged as nonchalantly as she could, "Just a quick visit" she answered. Penny hummed.

"It's to see James isn't it?" She asked and before Belle could say anything, she had rolled herself back to the kitchen, "Be home before Dinner"

Belle smiled as she kept on looking for the keys,

"Looking for this?" A young male voice said, as the owner dangled Belle's car keys in front of her.

"Ken, please. Not today" Belle frowned at her younger brother, watching in annoyance as he played with the keys stopping from getting it.

"I don't like that James guy, I don't want you seeing him" Ken said with a frown as Belle rolled her eyes.

"Ken, it's MY life okay?"

"Then, it's my keys okay?" He retorted and ran to his room, shutting the door before Belle could reach it.

"Kendrick !" She screamed at the door, "Come out or you're grounded"

"You can't ground me for a week remember?" Ken said and Belle facepalmed herself, how could she forget. She had promised not to ground him for a week after he passed his math test, she had said for a week no consequences for his actions.

"Ugh!" Why the hell would she even say that?

At the end, after a lot of hassle she had taken a cab to James apartment. That's when everything went down hill, there they lay—James and Nyera, her boyfriend and besfriend, half naked on the couch!

"Oh, God.." she moaned at the back of her throat as she walked, tears running down her eyes. She did not see the Car, or hear it's horn until it was near her.

"Ahhh..." She screamed and fell down in shock. She was still on the ground, holding her hand to her chest when a deep husky voice came from behind her, "Are you okay?"

She didn't know if it was the anger of earlier or fear of now that made her stand up briskly and turned, without caring who it was and shout," you idiot, you almost ran me over!"
