CHAPTER 1
TWO weeks after our wedding, I noticed Clara was not fine during the honeymoon. I would go to her where she sat in the bedroom... carried away by her thoughts, not noticing my presence. And when I touched her, she will jerk from her thoughts and did as if there was nothing. I was worried.
"I've been noticing you since we start our honeymoon...you have kept to yourself, you are carried away by thoughts. What have you been thinking? Share it with me" I said calmly to her.
She was quiet
"Are you not happy with our union?" I asked solemnly
"No Adam... I'm happy" she said silently
"So what is the problem ?" I asked
She Shook her head, then she bursted into silent cry.
I could believe my eyes, I moved to her close.
"Sweetheart what happened? What's the matter?" I asked
"I need to tell you the truth" she said
"The truth? What truth?" I asked
She cleaned her tears and she began.
"I...I..." She was trying hard to say
"Clara... I'm your husband for Christ's sake...tell me what's wrong and we'll find a way out. A problem shared is a problem solved" I console her.
"Adam...I had an...abortion" She spoke open mindedly
My heart skipped...I felt an horror atmosphere.
"What did you just say?" I asked her in terror expression
"Please Adam, I beg you" She knelt down at my front and cried unto me. Tears rowed down my eyes.
"And what about your womb?" I said in tears
She was still crying and shaking her head
"What about your womb! " I don't know when I shouted at her
She panicked. She kept mumbling
"It's gone right? " I said
"Adam pls there's still hope for me"
I walked out of the bedroom in anger and head to the guest room and lock up myself. Crying helplessly on the floor.

It was in the evening I heard several knocks on the door. I knew it her. I was sluggish to open the door. My eyes were red.I opened the door.
"What'd you want?" I asked
"Ehm " she cleaned her face full of tears " You haven't taken anything since afternoon... I've prepared your meal. It's on the dinning table." She said with pleading face
"I'm not ready to eat any food. If I'm hungry, I will cook for myself" I said angrily.
"Don't hurt yourself please" She said
"You've already hurt me by dirty deed, a wound that can never go for years" I said almost in tears " I kept myself for years for a right woman and now to marry a mess...ha"
She broke into tears
I said " You have a raging fire inside of me...I don't even know how you will quench it"
She broke into a loud cry.
