Introduction

Eann Yule had been married to Wayne Wales for three years, hoping her love could melt even the coldest of hearts. However, she soon realized that not even the ice of the South Pole could match Wayne's icy demeanor. Disheartened, she made the painful decision to end their marriage. During their time together, Wayne believed that two words, "honest" and "dull," summed up his wife. But it was Eann who shocked everyone at the Wales family anniversary celebration, throwing the divorce agreement in his face. Chapter 1

"Wayne, both you and Eann have been married for three years now. It's time to consider having a child."

In the study, where the door was partially ajar, came the solemn voice of an elderly person speaking earnestly.

The man's cold and indifferent voice sounded, "What is the point of having a child with a woman you don't love?"

Eann, who was about to knock on the door, suddenly froze in her tracks. Her gentle face was deathly pale.

The man's voice rang out again, this time with a hint of impatient, "Grandpa, let me reiterate it solemnly. Eann and I will not have children. Please let go of this idea."

"You brat!" The old man cursed angrily, and then a teacup was hurled to the ground, accompanied by the footsteps of a man.

In a hurry, Eann hid in the washroom next door. Her waist was brushed against sharp objects as she was in a haste.

The tearing pain spread from her body to her heart. She was in so much pain that tears welled up in her eyes.

A few days ago, she received a message from Laura. The girl her husband loved so much but could never have.

At the same time, there was also Laura's sarcasm...

"Eann, you've been married to Wayne for three years, but he hasn't fallen in love with you. You must admit you're quite a failure."

"To hold onto someone yet not gain their heart, to stoop so low without any self-esteem, only you could do something like this. If it were me, I would have jumped off a building in shame and indignation long ago."

Eann only discovered after marriage that her husband had someone else in his heart.

On the night of their wedding, she saw press releases of her husband Wayne and the popular actress Laura entering and leaving the hotel.

At that time, she was still full of expectations of love and happiness with him. She resigned from her job and dedicated herself to being his wife.

It was ironic that in the next three years...

As soon as she hid in the bathroom, the door was pushed open and she staggered back a few steps.

Through tear-filled eyes, she saw the stern man who had entered the room. It was her husband, Wayne.

His expression was cold, and his black suit looked even colder. As soon as he came in, he grabbed her chin unceremoniously, "You're encouraging Grandpa to urge me to give birth to a baby with you? Eann, your methods have improved over the years, haven't they?"

Without waiting for Eann to speak, his gaze became even colder, "Three years ago, you climbed into my bed and became Mrs. Wales. Now, you want to spend the rest of your life with our Wales family by giving birth to a child?"

Eann's expression changed. She bit her lip and said, "I didn't!"

"You wouldn't have eavesdropped on my conversation with Grandfather if you didn't feel guilty."

Wayne's eyes were filled with mockery. "It just so happened that you heard it and knew my attitude towards you. Eann, to bear my child, you're just not worthy!"

Eann's hands clenched in response to the nasty comments. The sharp points of her nails dug into her palms.

She had always known that Wayne didn't love her, but hearing the words "not worthy" from his own mouth still felt like a dagger to her heart.

For three years, she had dutifully played the role of Mrs. Wales, both in public and in private.

She had thought she could slowly melt Wayne's heart, but now she realized that his heart was like an eternal iceberg, no matter how much she gave, it would never thaw.

"Wayne, have you ever... fallen in love with me in the past three years?"

Her voice was low, and she struggled to control the immense tremor coursing through her body as if she had used up all her strength and courage.

Her soft voice stirred a strange feeling briefly in Wayne's heart, but it quickly vanished.

His eyes were full of indifference, "What do you think?"

The words of mockery and disgust had broken through the last barrier of defence in Eann's heart. She felt so much pain that she was on the verge of going numb.
