Chapter 1

"All right, so the question is, which male in here do you find the most attractive?" asked Mike, putting a proud smile on his face, thinking he would be the one chosen.

Our class was playing a game, in which we were asked a question and we had to pass a pen to the person to whom we thought the question applied. One of my classmate, Jenny was holding the pen, looking around to choose the most attractive guy.

During our free time, I was not interested in playing. I was focus on finishing my homework, since I wouldn’t have much time to do it at home. I had to work at night.

I noticed Jenny pass the pen to Tyler and I found Mike was offended, so he acted crying in a corner.

I just didn’t mind them and continue answering my homework. Since I weren’t looking at them I never noticed Tyler who walked towards me.

I look at him confused as he pass the pen to me.

“You’re the most attractive male, Rence?” he said and smirked.

I heard my classmates laughters. Some of them called me Rence since I dress like a boy. But my real name was Sofia.

“Oh no! Tyler!” Jenny exclaimed.

I turned to face him, his arrogant sneer and gaze. I took the pen from his hand.

I said, “I’m curious–“ loudly enough for him to hear. “Does giving me this pen imply that I failed as a girl? Or that you’ve all failed as men?”

I just smirked him back because his eyes were somewhat wide open and I heard the class say “OOOHH” again.

I was used to jokes like this. My brother provided me with the clothes I wore to school every day. My body curves were hidden, I didn’t put any work into my hair, and everyone commented on how unfeminine I am. I prodded him, “Come on, ask me a question.”

“O-Okay,” he said and nodded. “If you had to spend a night with one of us, who would you choose?”

I were troubled by his question. If I chose a girl I would be made fun of even more, maybe from other classes too, and if I honestly picked a boy he would be made fun of me and his alikes.

So, I just like that. I passed it to Tyler. The class was went “OOOH!” again, but he seemed to enjoy our fight.

“Hey, Tyler. Are you trying to bully her or flirt with her?” Kyle asked annoyed as he was watching the two of us from his seat at the back of the class.

“Bully? I’m teasing her.” Tyler sighed, realizing he’d spent too much time on me in front of the class.

He walked away back to his seat, but before that he whispered something to me.

“You’d better remember your answer.”

“Welcome to our café, sir.” I greeted and bowed to the customer who immediately blushed.

I lead him to the table, passed him the menu and walked away. I could feel he was unable to take his eyes off me. What’s wrong with that guy?

“He probably thinks you’re in the menu,” Mae said and laugh.

Mae was my bestfriend who is working here too. She’s extremely a cute girl and so charming. She was such a good friend of mine but unfortunately we studying at different schools.

“Whatever,” I murmured and sighed. There were many customers today.

“What are you gonna do with this Tyler? He still keeps messing around with you?” I always telling her about my troubles in schools as she is too.

“I don’t know, he’s pain in the ass. He’s pissing me off non-stop.”

“I heard there’s a mask prom soon at your school. How about we go?”

I didn’t even bother to think about it.

“No.” I immediately answer.

“It’s not just to have fun, Sofi. Think about it, it could be your perfect chance to shut this boy’s mouth forever.”

I stared at her. “Tell me what should I do.”

I looked so different when working here at café wearing my maid costume and cute smile. It was so unlike in my usual appearance. But working here was pretty pleasant, especially when having Mae with me.

I really wished no one else would find out about it.

“I have a plan!” Mae excited said.

I feel a bit curios on what possible Mae planning. She keep on thinking something without telling me so I went go back to front door and greet other customers.

“Good evening. Welcome to our café.” I greeted someone nervously when I recognize her face.

She’s one of my classmates name Jenny. I hope I’ll be safe tonight. She’s wearing a red cute dress and that’s when I found out she’s waiting someone on her table.

“Sofi!” I hear Mae call ng name.

I went to her immediately and trying to shut her mouth.

“W-What’s wrong?” she asked confused.

“The one sitting next to the old man was my classmate.”

She forcely smile at me. “Sorry. I don’t know. I she the first one came at this café, right?”

I nodded my head. Jenny will be one of my classmates first went here. This café is not that kind so popular but I think I shouldn’t be surprised if someone else came here.

I proudly to say that this café is one of my favorite. Except that the owner is very kind and generous, all of the coffee and dessert here is having a really good taste.

“Excuse me.” Somebody said and I realized it was Jenny.

I hurriedly went to her table and get her orders. I noticed she feels uncomfortable and she keeps on checking her phone.

“Uhm..are you okay?” I asked without thinking.

She look at me and smile bitterly. “I’m fine don’t mind me.”

I nodded at excuse my self to her. Why would I care her? Right, after all she’s my classmates but I think it’s different stories because I’m not their classmates every night.

As what she said don’t mind her. I did until she got out of here.

“Welcome to Master Café,” Mae and I greeted someone at the same time.

“I have a better plan for upcoming prom,” Mae whispered at my ears.

I just nodded and ready listen what she’s up to.

“Okay, I got it. It sounds nice plan,” I answer Mae.
