As I am laying on the couch in my therapist's office and she is staring at me waiting for me to open up to her. I have been seeing her for months and I have never told her what happened after I was abused.
" I want you to feel free to talk to me Avinna. If you can't talk to me, then write a dairy about what happened to you so you can heal." She tells me.
" I never thought that there was a day in my life that I would sit down and plan on ways to harm another person. I grew up naive and innocent and somehow spoilt. But what happened to me prompted me to become a monster and turn from an angel to a devil." I tell her. "Then tell me what you did to become a monster." She pleads with me.
" What about I write down and you may read it." I tell her.
" Okay take all the time you need." She tells me and I stand up and leave her office. I go to the store and buy a notebook and a pen to write everything and this is the confession I write
My name is Avinna Morgan the daughter of Richard Morgan the owner and founder of RM oil company in City C and among the most richest family in the city. I have one big brother Frank Morgan and a little sister Kate Morgan whom I love very much. I grew up in a prestigious family and a happy home. Despite my father being a ruthless businessman, he is a loving father to his three children and a faithful and committed husband to his wife Catherine.
I grew around them and this made me wish one day to have a family just like theirs. My father wanted us all to be part of his legacy and work and so he offered us the best education. After college, and many talks with my father, I decided to find internship opportunity in other companies so that I could gain more experience.
I had to find everything by myself and not use my family's name and money to get in. After visiting many companies and submitting my papers, Dai Group accepted me due to my good qualifications. I was excited to finally been accepted without using my family's name just my hard work. After been introduced and told everything about the company, I was told the date and the time to report for my first day and which department to join.
I was excited to be part of something that was not family related so when I reported and I was asked to join the Research and Development department I was happy. I was just an intern but I was happy. Being the new person was never the best experience because everyone treated me like a competitor. But one lady saw my confusion and came to my aid.
" Hi, I am Lucy and welcome to the department. Don't mind anyone here and just do your work. I have to been told you will work as my assistant so you can learn more." She told me smiling.
" Hi too. I am Avinna and thank you so much." I told her smiling back.
She pointed me to my desk and she gave me my first assignment. The day went pretty well and I was glad my first day went well. After a week in the organization, I started making friends and I felt good. The following week, I started my day happy and decided to head out during lunch hour since I didn't carry my lunch that day. As I entered the elevator, a tall well built gentleman told me to hold the elevator for him. I was glad to do so.
" Thank you for that." He told me adjusting his glasses.
" No problem." I told him.
" You seem to be new here." He said.
" I just joined last week as an intern in the Research department." I told him.
" That's why I haven't seen you before. I have been working here for the past ten years and I know when someone is new. I am Sean from the Marketing department." He said.
" Avinna." I told him.
He was good looking and polite and I was happy to ride the elevator with him. I never thought that I would seen him again since we didn't work the same department and I continued to carry my lunch so we didn't bump into each other during lunch breaks.
One evening I was getting off, and I found him in the lobby waiting for someone. Since he was polite with me the previous week I decided to say hello on my way out.
" Hello Sean. " I greeted.
" Hello Avinna. Just the person I wanted to see." He said smiling at me.
" What do you mean?" I asked him confused.
" After meeting the other time, I thought I would bump into you again during lunch break but I never saw you again. I just felt happy talking to you and I wanted to see you again." He said.
" Ooh. I don't usually go for lunch outside the company since I carry my own lunch. That day I woke up late and I forgot my lunch that's why we met during lunch break." I explained everything to him.
" Why don't I buy you coffee and maybe we can be friends." He asked politely and I had no reason to refuse. He was a permanent employee there and I thought having him as a friend was a good thing. We talked as we headed for the parking lot and we decided to have coffee just a cafe that was near the office.
I didn't want leaving my car and then coming back for it. We talked about different things and we were happy just talking. He was cute and he had the best smile I had ever seen. The way he kept smiling at me and complementing me made me start having a crush on him. I had never dated before because my father was so strict on dating while still in school and he had forbade me on having boyfriends.
We became friends and I enjoyed spending time with him. He was a gentleman and that made me fall in love with him. We could talk for hours on different topics and he seemed to enjoy my company. I didn't know how he felt about me but I was sure I was in love with Sean. He was everything I ever wanted in a man.
One weekend he asked me to accompany him fishing and I was happy to. That's when he decided to do the unexpected.
"Avinna, I know we have been friends for just two months but I have fallen in love with you. I have been patient but I can't wait any longer. Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.
" Yes." I told him even without thinking twice. I was happy that he proposed to me and I didn't have to be confused any longer about our relationship.
