NARRATOR'S POV.
Her eyes hurt. Probably because she has been staring at the computer screen for hours. she needed a break but it was the last thing she could think of.
She decided to take her eyes off the screen for a minute. Rubbing her eyes she looked around, her colleagues were all also walking their butts off.
Her eyes went to the huge window that occupied the whole wall. It was already dark out. She looked at the leather strap watch on her hand, it was already few minutes past one o'clock in the morning.
She heard a loud groan and the sound of cracking bones, Susan looked to her left to see Joe stretching .
They all looked exhausted, but they can't stop. Their existence basically depends on it. Tomorrow was the review. Every six months, they put together all the data and every projects and charts and make a review for the chairman of the company.
They took all their orders from his personal assistant. Everyone feared Mr Marcelo King. There was also a myth that if his eyes met yours, your soul becomes broken.
"You guys go home,I'll wrap things up here" Susan spoke up.
Joe looked at her in amusement but he wasn't surprised, this wasn't the first time she has covered for them.
"Are you sure?"
Aisha, another colleague and one of her closet friends asked.
"Yeah, we just need to wrap up, that shouldn't be difficult to do"She assured them.
They immediately thanked her and headed for the elevator. They rushed out before she could change her mind, not that she would but it didn't hurt to be careful.
When all of them had left. She decided to head to the break room for some coffee. She decided to also grab a bagel. she was hungry and exhusted and couldn't wait to kiss her bed.
She didn't cover for them purely out of good will.
Anytime she'll call in sick or request a leave she gets its more easily than the others. she was one of the most hard working employee in the department. Heading out of the break room, she heard the elevator ding open.
She wasn't sure if it was one of her colleagues or an intruder from a rival company, but that seemed far fetched.
The company was one of the most protected building in the city.
If it was an intruder, she wouldn't have any thing to protect herself with. And it was not like she could beat an intruder to death with a bagel.
She could however throw the brewing hot coffee on him, then when he was writhing in agony she would shove a bagel down his throat and he would choke on it.
Susan couldn't help it when her imagination starts brewing theories it was hard for it to stop. Standing in front of her was a man probably in his early thirties in a black suit.
He had a piece of wire that ran from his ear to the back of his neck. His name tag spelt Ronny. He doesn't really seem like a Ronny, he seemed like a Jeff or Terry, probably because of his bulging muscles.
He was not as huge as Terry from her favorite sitcom Brooklyn nine nine but he was muscular enough and it was evident he frequently visited the gym.
"Good evening Miss Presely" He greeted, his face was cold and his face only held small emotions.
She recognized him from the security team on the first floor. Although she always greets them, she wasn't very familiar with all of their faces and names.
He eyed the cup of coffee she was holding and the half eaten bagel on her other hand.
"Your ID card?". When he asked.
Susan headed to her table to get it, when she moved his stance changed and he squared his shoulders. His hand was a little risen, Susan eyes followed and she could see the hostler on his waist.
" I'm just going to get my card" Susan said , she motioned to her desk, that still had files sprayled over it, her computer was still on.
She often removed her card, later in the evening if she was working late.
She grabbed her card from her desk handing it over to Ronny, who took out a small Palm sized scanner from his pocket.
He ran her card through it, and her employment details was displayed on the small screen.
His face face relaxed a little.
"Sorry... It's a new protocol to scan those that stay late in the building" he explained handing her card over to her.
She gave him a small smile.
"It's okay... If you hadn't shown yourself earlier, I was ready to defend myself with theses" she raised her coffee and her bagel.
He let out a small chuckle.
"You should leave soon, its not safe for a beautiful lady to walk around at this hour." She just nodded her head, and watched as he headed out.
Him calling her beautiful didn't get past her. Now she was sure she had a small red taint on her cheeks, she just couldn't help it, even though she had no feelings for that person, she cant help but blush When she is complimented.
Looking at her watch, she realized how late it really was, it was a few minutes past two. Rounding up took more time than she imagined, she decided to make a few touches and head home.
She can't come to work tomorrow looking like an undead. She decided to switch off the light in the office the only source of light was her computer.

He stood in front of his glass window overlooking the city. He was powerful. He was a dangerous man, some called him crazy and he was crazy.
He just stood there, his hands shoved in his pocket.
The smell of the expensive tobacco that was left in his glass ashtray still lingered in the air,the aura around him was intimidating. If an ordinary man stood next to him, he probably would suffocate.
His mind wandared around different topics. He thought of various deals, and who he wanted to deal with, his mind couldn't rest on a particular topic,it hasn't in a long time.
His mind was filled with horrors, nightmares, and as time goes he could feel his demons eating deep into his soul, but that didn't bother him, he felt empty.
And it was enough for him, he didn't want to feel anything. He couldn't if he wanted to and not that he would ever want to
He turned back to his desk, picking up the black tablet. Switching it on, the security outline of his building showed on his screen and according to it, there was one more person left in the building, and it seems that one of his security had scanned her, his normally indifferent mind was now curious to know who was in the building, he had a regulation that everyone had to leave by six and if they worked late by ten.
But then he realizes it was the floor below his, it was the only department allowed to stay longer because they worked closer to him at least his PA.
Tapping on her profile, her picture came out with her details, and for the first time in a long time he decided to know more. He tapped on her full details and saw that she had been working here for a long time and she was a pretty thing.
He was now curious, she seemed more than familiar, and it seems a lingering feeling that has been there awhile awoke. Maybe he could pay her a little visit, he was bored, at least now she could entertain him

It was time, she cross checked everything that needed to be cross checked and save those that needed to be saved and she couldn't wait to go home. She was exhausted.
The elevator dinged open, she didn't mind it, it could be Ronny who is back for his routine check, but after a few seconds, she didn't hear anything. she turned her chair to face the elevator, that was a little out of site, because of the huge glass wall that had the company's name on it written in huge gold letters.
"Ronny?... Is that you...?" but there was no reply.
Her eyes caught something. It was a sillohte. It didn't move, it just stood there and it was obvious someone was there, but based on the shape of the sillohte she was sure it wasn't Ronny.
It was obvious that this person was tall and had his hands in his pocket.
She ended up calling the male colleagues she worked with, if it was them trying to pull a prank on her, then she would make sure that they were sorry.
It was a terrible idea to switch off the lights.
The person started coming closer, he was heading towards her.
"Stop...stop right there!"she ordered
But it silently headed towards her, in a very slow taunting pace, the sound of his shoes echoing on the marbled floor, was it her or does she feel like she had been transferred to a horror movie.
She decided not to take her chances and sprinted out of chair and headed to the female restroom, she didn't know who this psychopath was and she wasn't ready to find out.
she had always enjoyed watching horror movie but not alone she preferred watching it with her brother.
She felt safer and now her imagination was in overdrive mode, her thoughts were all over the place and when she decided she was being ridiculous and should stop hiding in the rest room, she heard footsteps outside the door and the next thing he said freaked her out.
"Why don't we play hide and seek... Run... I will find you" a chilling voice let out, and that voice held a promise .
With that she sprinted into one of the cubicle locking it behind her.
See he was crazy, and now all he wants to do is find his kitten.
