Aurora looked into the large mirror in front of her, smiles plastered all over her face. She brought out a lipstick for her purse, rolled it up and painted them evenly on her lips. Just as she pouted them, the door to the dressing room suddenly flung open.
“Young lady, you’ll be up very soon. I hope you are ready?” A round man asked, the door handle firmly in his grip. Aurora turned swiftly, a smile still on her face.
“Yes sure, I’ll be out in about a minute” she responded and almost immediately, the round man shut the door. Aurora turned back to the mirror, adjusted her brown curly hair, before she stood up and headed out to the room. She stood at the dark corridor waiting for her name to be announced to the crowd of people. She took a deep breath, before adjusting her black handless gown. About thirty seconds later, her name was announced. She took a deep breath, before cat walking onto the stage. She swayed her hips seductively with each step, her smooth slender leg popping from her hip length slit. She stopped when she was in front of the standing microphone. She turned to the instrumentalists, signaling to them with a wink. The nodded and almost immediately, they began to play a soothing jazz. Aurora inhaled deeply, before she opened her mouth and the melody of her voice began to escape her throat. She twisted and swayed, making piercing eye contact with the crowd. The crowd was a silent one, with mostly men littered at every table at the corners of the building. Some sipped whiskey, others smoked a cigar, while another group did both, while chatting away or watching her. Aurora continued to sing and move her body sweetly to the tone of the jazz being played. The night seemed to be gay and just soothing, when suddenly, a group of men matched in. Unlike the rest of the crowd, they didn’t seem to want to have anything to do with the atmosphere they stepped into. They were neatly dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, their eyes scanning the room viciously. Before anyone could comprehend whatever these men had come to do, one of them drew a gun and fired it in the air. The crowd immediately dispersed in a frenzy. Scrambling and screaming echoed in the room, causing everywhere to be foggy. Aurora immediately tried to save herself. She ran to the backstage door and tried to draw it open, but like ghosts, the assailants appeared behind her.
“That would be useless Miss Aurora. You are coming with us now” one of the men, who was in front said.
“I-I-I I don’t know what’s going on. P-p-p please just let me go” Aurora stammered.
“We have orders Miss, you are coming with us!” the man ordered. Before Aurora could say anything, she was dragged by her arm, from the stage down, and out of the building. When she was outside, she saw about four black sedans lined up, with a few other men standing beside this cars. Without warning, he door to one of the cars was open, and she was shoved into the vehicle. Her assailants entered the various cars, some with her, others into the three other cars, and immediately, the cars zoomed off almost at the same time. The car was silent, except for the rustling of the engines. Aurora curled up like a ball at one corner of the car, jerking uncontrollably.
“Relax miss, you aren’t going to be killed” the man who had initially grabbed her out sighed. Aurora slowly turned her head, to take a look at him.
“Who are you? And what do you want from me?” she managed to mutter.
“It is not I who seeks you, but the big boss himself. He’ll tell you everything you need to know” the man answered, after which he threw his face away, looking straight into the distance. Aurora understood, he wasn’t willing to answer any more questions from her. She was trapped, she couldn’t even look out the window, because it was heavily tinted. She swallowed hard before placing her head on the window glass, she had resigned to whatever fate awaits her.
It was about an hour drive, before the car finally reached a large gate. Aurora raised her head to take a look, at least to know where she was. The large, tall black gates flung open immediately, and the cars proceeded to move in immediately. Aurora noticed something, not just that the parcel of land was big, but it seemed to be a farmland. Though she couldn’t see properly, she noticed a few tall trees and crops planted accordingly. The drive took another thirty minutes before the cars finally slowed down again in front of a gate. This time, Aurora saw a tall, magnificent building. She gasped in awe, for a minute forgetting she was kidnapped.
“Call the boss, tell him we have the lady” the man ordered. The driver nodded and immediately began to make a call. The cars drove in slowly, and this time, Aurora’s heart really sank beneath everything in her belly. The surrounding of the house was beautiful and large, but Aurora didn’t seem to take notice anymore. The cars stopped in front of the house, in some sort of circular ring. The man opened the car and stepped out; the car door still opened, her peeped slightly into the car.
“Miss, please step out, the boss will be here in no time” he said. Aurora was too scared to protest, she instantly rushed out of the car without any hesitations. Just as she stepped out of the car, she noticed a group of men approaching them. At first, they seemed to be figures, but soon, their faces became clear. At the fore front was a tall, slender, but well built man approaching. He wore a harness suspenders, with a cigar in one side of his mouth, parting his slender lips. Everyone stood at attention, except Aurora who still looked around. The group walked down until they had gotten off the small stairs, and were standing in the middle of the small circle.
“Good evening boss” the man who had brought Aurora greeted with a slight bow. The man in front of the group didn’t answer, instead he quickly fixed his piercing, eagle-like grey eyes on Aurora for about a minute.
“She’s indeed the one, well done Luca” the man finally spoke, the cigar still held firmly in between his teeth.
“Thank you boss” the man replied with a slight bow again.
“You can all go, I’ll see you all later tonight” the boss announced. The other men bowed and uniformly entered into the cars they had come with, and proceeded to drive off, leaving Aurora behind. The boss turned to Aurora, a broad smile began to spread on his well chiseled face.
“Welcome my darling, you belong to me now”.
