Chapter 1

Laurie had just come out of the gate of a villa when a black car stopped right in front of her. The driver slowly lowered the tinted car window in front of her. A familiar face appeared to her.

"How are you?" Krisana asked her.

"Fine, nothing's new." She replied. "Do you need anything?" She asked her friend as she raised her one eyebrow.

Krisana stared at her intently before her grin lit up for her. She already knew what that friend's grin meant.

"Stop it, Krisana! I'm not in the mood to hit the nonsense you're thinking." She said and was about to turn her back at her friend when Krisana stopped her.

"I know the feeling of being confused and wanting to be alone. The experience of at least breathing without worrying is expensive." Then she heard her friend's deep sigh.

Krisana's face earlier was all about sympathy, and seconds passed it was immediately replaced by a playful grin. "What are you waiting for? Hop in!" Krisana commanded. "Besides, the Boss sent me to pick you up." Her friend's added.

She sighed quietly before opening the door on the side of the passenger seat. "What does he want at this time?" She asked.

Her friend just shrugged. "I don't know." And focused her eyes again on the road.

"I heard you filed for vacation leave?" Krisana broke the silence forming between them.

"Yeah. I want to take a break. I badly need it." She answered.

Her friend turned to her and quickly turned her eyes back to the road. She noticed that her friend maneuvered the car into the left corner.

"Yeah, you really need a break." Krisana agreed. "Your hands were full last year and this past few months." She added.

The car stopped in front of a high steel fence And its paint was black. The high gate opened when the scanner read the plate number of the vehicle in which Krisana and her was riding.

Her friend again drove the car into a large lot where the two-story building stood in the middle. Her eyes were greeted by the sight of the name of the organization to which she belonged, engraved on a rectangular plate made of silver. It is firmly attached to the marble wall on the outside part of the second floor.

"Go ahead, I'll be right there later. One more thing, Boss is waiting for you. I'll go through the Armory Department first." Krisana said to her as the car once again stopped.

  "Okay then." She replied sparingly.

She opened the car door and exited. Then she walked to the entrance of the building. While in the hallway there were a few co-workers greeting her. It was also a long time since she last came in here.

"How are you?" Tristan asked her..

  "Good." She replied.

"You promised when we last met that we would go out and talk." He reminds her. "By the way, congrats!" He added and patted her on the shoulder before continuing his walk.

Instead of walking up the stairs, she just took the elevator to make it easier for her to climb to the second floor.

When she was on the second floor she went straight to the closed door of her Boss's office. She did three knocks before he opened the door for her.

"The client paid a lot, more than he had to pay." His boss opened up to her.

"I know. I received the bank message. The payment has already been entered in the account." She told her boss.

"You finished it well. That's why you are my favorite of all the Inkians." He compliments her. "Come in first and we will talk about your requested leave." He added as he lead her the way to the long sofa.

  "Take a sit." He ordered.

When she sat down she did not wander around anymore. "I want to get away. I finished all the work given to me. Maybe I should have three years leave."

"Whoa! Just wait." Shocked as her boss ejaculated with both hands.

"It seems like a long time, Spider." Her boss complained and scratched his neck.

"I have been working under you since I was eleven years old, Boss. In the six years I have received and finished all those job you were given to me, I have not even considered taking a week off." he reminded his boss.

There was a long silence that enveloped them before his boss spoke again. "All right. But when there are important issues, I hope you come."

"I will not promise. I'll just come here but not at the exact time. Expect that I'll be late." She honestly said.

"By the way, may I know the reason why you are asking for a 3 years leave?" He asked. "If you don't mind." He added.

"Well, I've been looking for peaceful surroundings." She then sighed. "Besides, I want to continue my studies." She honestly added then she stood up.

"You've already made up your mind." Her boss murmured yet she heard it.

His face was like a beaten dog. Kind of sad but she can't find any disappointments on it.

"You look like a beaten dog, Boss." She commented loudly.

Her Boss face lit up. He stared at her sharply. "Oh. Calm down, Boss." She then grins at him.

"Tsk! You really know how to pissed me off." He said.

"Of course!" She's still grinning. "As you said earlier, I am your favorite Inkians." She added.

"I'm taking it back." Her boss growled at her.

"Nah!" She said while shaking her head at him. "Hmm. What would other Inkians say if I told them about me being your favorite?" She teases her boss.

"Fine! I'm not taking it back!" He surrendered. "Stop pissing me off, Spider!" Her boss scolded her and calling her by her organization alias.

"Owkay, Boss!" There's still a hint of teasing in her tone.

"Just go, your three-year requested leave is already approved. Take care and please don't forget to give me a call once you are settled." He reminds her.

"Copy that, Boss!" She replied and was about to give him a salute formation when he thew a ballpen at her but she was to quick to dodge it.

"Nice try, Boss!" She half shouted and ran towards the door and opened it.

She's happy. She'll make sure to spend her three-year leave wisely.
