Chapter 01
- Her fantasy world
The devil bound the jungle from all sides. It seemed impossible to escape from there without coming into their sight. On a misty night, there was nothing but chippers of birds.
Once behind a dense tree, a girl was struggling in pain. Her hands seemed to crack vigorously. The blood was flowing deep down to her knees, covering them.
She couldn't even utter a word as if someone sliced her dried throat and took out her voice.
Tears were flowing from her eyes like raindrops. There was no chance for her to survive further.
Her breaths slowly started reducing, and her heart rate was also getting low. As if she was taking her last pants.
"No matter what, I have to save my home."
With her trembling hands, she pulled out a tiny box attached to a chain around her neck.
She gently opened the box and saw a shining light coming out of it. Inside it was a family gem saved from years, which ancestors presented to the new generation for centuries.
She took it in her hands and put it on her head. "Xiaching, please provide me strength to save our home. Bless us with your power."
She knew the power of this gem. But once she used it, it would disappear in the mist.
They considered this gem as armor, and today was the time to use it.
The gem was powerful enough to destroy the whole town. A tiny mistake, and she would lose everything.
In order to use it, she needed a lot of concentration and strength to hold back its power.
She closed her eyes, and with all the remaining strength, and prepared herself.
She stood up while holding the tree, but her body was still weak. Her hands were hurting. Feet were not capable enough to move a step ahead.
But there was a hope in her soul that kept her alive. She wanted to protect others. And for that, she was ready to risk her life.
By gathering all the strength, she took steps ahead. Her eyes were red. As if she was fuming with a vengeance.
Taking a deep breath, she came closer to those morons and threw the gem in the air.
It exploded in the air such that there was devastation all around. All the devils seemed dead as some were slowly dying.
Unfortunately, in this blast, she couldn't survive too. In the last moments of her life, she saw the end of those devils with her own eyes.
There was no regret left.
With a satisfied smile on her lips, she closed her eyes.
.......................................
Finally, she could see a new ray of light with her own eyes when her body started shaking. She could hear her name echoing in the atmosphere.
"Rong! Wake up!"
Irritated, she slowly opened her eyes and found herself lying on the bed.
She moved her eyes here and there, and then her friend pushed the curtains aside.
The beam of sun entered the room while flashing on her face.
"Zhao Ming, let me sleep more."
Turning her head, she pulled the blanket down. "Not at all. You're already late. Now, get ready, or else your real devil wouldn't let you live peacefully."
Rubbing her eyes, she put her feet down and welcomed the morning.
Lagging down, she pushed herself to the bathroom and took her brush in her hands.
Applying the paste, she brushed her teeth.
Cong Rong was a struggling novelist. Where her seniors got high appreciation, she never received that much love or support.
She kept herself totally separate from this world. She was so immersed in her own world that the fantasy world was her everything.
From childhood, the one who held the pen and thought everything about fantasy. She now had the struggle to adjust herself for others.
The last book written by her was also clearly rejected by the editor.
They said, "fantasy is more likely a play of kids. It will never be appreciated in this literacy world."
Despite this, she did not let her spirits tear apart. She believed that someday she too would become a good novelist.
She was ready to do everything to make herself a good novelist. But the world was against it. She got no chance to prove herself that led her to a period of depression.
Where she struggled to decide: whether she could continue it or not?
But as people said. "Whenever there is no one, a true friend will always be with you."
To prove this, God sent Zhao Ming to her life. She colored Rong's world beautiful and stayed with her like her strength.
Shrugging her shoulders, she washed her face and got ready.
..........................................
Caressing her hair strands back, she glanced at the mirror as a smile appeared on her lips.
She wore casual flared jeans with a white-shaded shirt. She curved the ends of her jeans.
As she put a hairband on her hair while leaving them back open.
"Perfect."
She clasped her hand while humming a random song. Extending her hands, she took a grey colored handbag and walked downstairs.
.........................................
In a hurry, she straight rushed towards the main door when Ming called her name out. "Cong Rong? Where are you going?"
Frowned at her spot, she turned her head back and flashed a grin.
"Ming, let me go today. I'm already late, please."
"Not until you have your breakfast, Cong Rong. Come here."
Accepting her defeat, she sighed and quietly walked towards the kitchen counter.
"When will you stop forcing me to eat breakfast?" she asked while taking her seat.
"When you, yourself, remember to eat. Health comes first. So, you can't skip breakfast."
"Got it, teacher Zhao."
As she served, Rong quickly started eating her breakfast, making Ming worried.
"Slowly, dear. The food is not going anywhere."
Taking the glass of juice, she gulped it down and placed it back. "But my time is running out."
Cleaning her mouth with the help of tissue, she stood up. "Okay, I'm done now. You'll not stop me."
Flashing her beautiful smile, she nodded. "Okay, Miss. Go ahead and take care of yourself."
Winking at her, she again rushed towards the door and quickly wore her sneakers.
Waving her hands, she said. "I'm going. See you later, Ming."
Turning back, she opened the door and walked away.
