Camilla’s POV:
I felt a sharp blow to my face; you slapped me! Yes, and I will do it again if you continue to disrespect the man I love.
Amelia continued, hitting her hands against the table.
You hit me because of a man who doesn't even know you exist.
" What happened to you? I asked sharply.
At this point, I'm embarrassed to call you my sister; your obsession with that womanizer will serve you no purpose!
I slammed out of the room.
Feeling a cool breeze off the water and smelling salty sea air mixed with city sounds, including ship horns.
I forgot what it was like to walk out here.
Oh, how I miss our parents were still here.
Ever since they died, life has been unbearable.
They weren’t rich, yet they always found ways to keep the peace and happiness.
It always felt like home when they were around; now it feels like an empty place.
And Amelia, oh, how I wish she would start seeing reasons. She’s losing herself each day that goes by; she’s not even realizing it, and that's heart-wrenching.
It feels like we're in different spaces, even when we share the same room, tears glimmering in my eyes.
The sheer hollowness I feel is overwhelming.
All I want is to be out here; my mind felt like it was on a hamster wheel.
Wow, I've really been hoofing it.
By the street curb, a lounge chair drew my attention, and I relaxed on it.
Alexander’s POV:
Alaric! The shout of his name woke our parents.
“Oh, for heaven’s sake! What is it this time, Alexander?
What is it?” How many times have I told you to find something meaningful to do with your life?
You can't just be partying, clubbing, and having your way with women whenever you want, squandering money on unnecessary things.
When will you start acting like a true member of this family? Mom, please tell Alexander I won't tolerate him disrespecting me.
Oh, shut up! Dad, why shut me up? No one told Alexander to shut up when he was disrespecting me.
He was disrespecting you?
You call your brother asking you to act right, disrespecting Dad adds sharply, if Alexander asks you to act right and that is disrespect then what do we call your ruthless behavior?
Alaric turned to me and said,
"Pleased with how Dad is angry now?
Why do you always want to act like the perfect son?"
Listen, Alaric, all I want is for you to work with me at the company.
Since Father handed over the company to me, it hasn't been easy.
I want you to learn everything that goes on in the company. Oh, Alexander, I see what you're trying to do here.
You want my life to be as boring as yours?
Oh, you're jealous of my lifestyle, Mom and Dad I don't mean to be rude but I'm running late, brother. Catch you later.
He strutted out of the house, I couldn’t believe I couldn't have a good conversation with him.
I kissed mom and dad on the cheek. "I'm so sorry I woke you guys up by shouting."
"Oh, don't, darling. We weren't asleep." Alright,
I'm taking a moment to stretch my legs outside "I adds,
'Sure, darling, come back soon,'" mom adds.
I drove out to a place where I could feel the breeze.
I strolled, enjoying the fresh air; my brother’s words echoed in my mind,
I asked myself if my life was boring.
I paused to think.
My gaze landed on a lady from a distance. I could notice how distressed she looked.
I walked up to her.
"Hi," she tilted her chin up. She had a wide round face with a pointed chin; her eyes were big and greyish-green with dark eyelashes, and her hair was long, flowing tresses of loose waves, sunrise-gold.
Her beauty mesmerized me.
Camilla's POV:
As I relaxed in the chair, I unintentionally drifted off.
In no time I heard a deep voice say, “Hi.” My heart leapt up into my throat.
When I woke up, my gaze landed on a tall muscular man with long straight black hair, blue eyes, a long face with a strong jawline, straight nose, and thin eyebrows.
I surveyed him closely, and oh my goodness, he is Alexander Williams.
I could identify him anytime because Amelia wouldn’t stop showing me his pictures, and immediately my palms were wet, my legs were shaking, and I couldn’t tell why, so I stood up and asked.
"Please, are you Alexander Williams?"
He stared at me in surprise.
"Umm, yes," he said.
I beat a hasty retreat even before he could say anything else. In a few minutes, I was home.
I checked my phone and it was already midnight; Amelia was already asleep.
I went to crash on my bed, but surprisingly I couldn’t shake off the thought of him.
His eyes are very captivating, and a smile escaped from my mouth.
What the hell Camilla! I shake it off.
I can’t simply be thinking about a man like that. Aside from the fact that he’s famous, rich, and powerful, he’s also a womanizer and has no respect for ladies.
I can’t simply be thinking about him; besides, my sister is madly in love with the same man.
I willed myself into slumber.
Morning was here, and I don’t have the energy for that confrontation today, so I might as well stay in my room to avoid my sister now.
I really don’t want to talk about yesterday.
In a few minutes, she was knocking on my door, Camilla good morning, I didn’t respond.
Camilla, I know you’re in there; please open the door.
Let’s iron out our disagreements.
Well, she’s right, I can’t stay here in the room forever.
I opened up. She apologized and I did too. We hugged it out.
Alexander’s POV:
I can’t get over the lady from last night.
It’s like her appearance is burned into my memory, and she seems to know me.
She mentioned my name, but I have never met her.
She just took off when I told her I’m Alexander.
I need to find out more about her, but I don’t have her picture or name. I don’t even have her actress.
How I wish I could find ways to find her.
I’m not someone who gives up.
I will find her and make her tell me what I need to know.
