A blinding bolt of lightning illuminated the suburban lumberyard. Ava let out a hysterical wail, the desolation in her voice not even drowned out by the deafening thunder.
"Ahhhh!!!"
Evelyn dropped the poisoned knife nonchalantly, tucking away the warm human skin. "Scream all you want, no one will come to save you. From now on, I'll be the one living your life using your face, claiming everything that was once yours, including James. I will make everyone understand that I am the true Queen of Shadows."
"Evelyn, I swear, you won't find peace even in death!"
Ava shook with rage, struggling with all her might, trying to strangle the venomous woman before her. Her face was brutally torn off her! The excruciating pain from the flesh and blood being severed from bone - is unforgettable! However helpless, she was tied to a marble pillar.
"Next life? Haven't you lived a triumphant life in this one, only to fall under my hand?"
Evelyn laughed triumphantly, throwing a bucket of paint over Ava's body.
Ava let out another painful roar, then glared at Evelyn, her lips trembling.
"Did you ever consider that my grandfather’s people would come looking for me when you staged James's kidnapping to dupe me into coming here?"
She truly believed that her fiance had been kidnapped, begging the kidnappers to let James go in exchange for herself as the hostage!
She was even force-fed a heavy dose of drugs that left her powerless to resist! What a colossal fool she was!
"You dared to defy your grandfather' objections and insisted on marrying me, even causing him to get heart disease from spite. Do you think he'd still care about your life or death?"
Another maniacally ruthless voice rang out, simultaneously slapping Ava's face, which was now a bloody pulp.
"Ava, do you realize how long I've tolerated you? You're more talented and wealthier than me. After you won Best Actress, people said I was just your trophy husband! I can't bear the disdain in people's eyes! You deserve to die!"
Ava's eyes rolled back in pain, but she didn't lose consciousness. She was clearer-headed than ever before. The person hitting her was James.

James pulled out a lighter, aimed at Ava's hair, like a devil from hell.
"Ava, rest assured and leave. Evelyn will be by my side with your face, and I can still maintain the image of a loyal boyfriend. As long as you die, no one can know the truth."
Ava felt pain to the point of hearing ringing in her ears, but didn't shed a single tear. 'Can anyone come and save me…'
She heard the snap of the lighter, and the hair beside her ear was instantly ignited. Followed by the crackling sound, bringing the severe pain of intense fire scorching her skin.
She opened her mouth in horror, but couldn't make a sound!
She wouldn't accept this!
