For the first time in a month, I just had a peaceful and refreshing sleep that is until I woke up to Nina's angry yells as I saw her talking to someone on her phone. I hear her shouting the words sl*t, wh*re, b*tch, home wrecker and many other awful things. I reached for the phone near me to know the time only to realize that it's Nina's phone and the one she's using is mine. I decided to get out of bed and I was about to walk to her to try to calm her down when she noticed my presence and, man, I am so sure if looks could really kill, I'm already a goner. To tell you, this is my typical morning, actually. Maybe the person on the other side of the phone is some random teenage girl who liked my photo on some social media and left a thirst comment again. Nina is always like that. She's kinda possessive towards me and I am almost certain that she is the aggressive type. I don't mind, actually, since we are soon going to get married in about five months. She continued talking--more like cursing on the phone as I went to the bathroom to officially start my day. I was about to reach for the doorknob when Nina aggressively snatched my hand and I felt her digging her nails unto my skin and slapped me hard on my left cheek. Man, I'm definitely sure this would leave a mark for my coworkers to notice tomorrow. You see, I have quite a sensitive skin. Whenever I have even just a small scratch, it takes three days for the redness to disappear and a full long week to heal.
I didn't even had the chance to process the sudden painful slap when she started cursing and accusing me. I guess, she's done with the phone now and decided to take out her remaining anger on me. Are you okay? You may be asking me that question right now but believe me, it's really okay. I'm fine. Maybe it's because I got used to it?
"You f*ck*ng cheater! How could you, Orion! We are about to get married in five months' time! Do you realize that? In. Five. Months! And you started cheating on me already?! You're a f*ck*ng cheating *ssh*l*!" Nina's furious face and words rung in my head but it seems like I couldn't understand her.
Me? A cheater? The pain I felt on my cheek instantly vanished as confusion and anger took over me.
"What the hell are you talking about?! I just f*ck*ng woke up, Nina! I just had a peaceful sleep for the first time since I proposed to you and I woke up to this?!" I tried my best to stay calm despite the accusations thrown at me but apparently, I failed to do so.
"WHOA! Hold up there. Is it my fault now that you proposed to me?! Did I force you to propose to me?! And who's this Phenelope, huh?" She asked furiously as she was mentioning her name.
"She's...she's just a friend of mine, why?" The anger I felt suddenly changed into worry.
"Well, YOUR FRIEND, Phenelope, kept on calling you so early in the morning like it f*ck*ng depended her life on it that I decided to take the call because it's irritating me but then she hung up and I saw a f*ck*ng message from Phenelope saying she's pregnant with your child!" Nina failed to stay calm while she's trying to tell me what happened and I can tell she's really livid...but I got Phenelope pregnant?
"Is that my phone you were using earlier?" I asked her as calmly as I can.
"Yes because I was so furious I couldn't even find my phone which is just beside your phone when I picked it up!" Nina is not calming down and her anger is slowly rising again.
I am so confused and bothered by the fact that I got Phenelope pregnant. I mean, it's Phenelope! I admit, something happened to us when we met at a reunion party last month or two months ago. I really can't remember but we're both dead drunk and we just found out what happened the morning after. Nina and I had broken up at the time but we got back together, eventually, and that's when I proposed to her. But Phenelope! She's the most responsible person I know. She never makes mistakes. She's so detail-oriented. How could she miss this one? This is stressing me out! I don't even know what to do to appease Nina's anger. I was about to explain everything to Nina when my phone rang and I received a text message from Phenelope.
It says, "Bring your fiancée with you and meet me right now at this coffee shop. I sent you the address. I will meet her whether she like it or not and I will also meet you whether you like it or not."
It's just a simple message but it seems like she's implying that hell's about to break loose.
