Chapter 1

On a summer night, a busy stream of passengers burst out of the cabin after a large plane landed safely at the airport.

Sofia Thompson curved her red lips against the night wind as she pulled her LV suitcase. "Ah, I've finally returned to the embrace of my motherland!" she exclaimed.

She turned on her phone and several notifications popped up. When Sofia tapped on them, she saw voice messages sent from her best friends. She went through them one by one and replied, "Don't rush me! I just got off the plane. I will be there soon!"

Sofia changed her mind about going home straight from the airport. She hailed a taxi and headed to the biggest bar in the city. When she arrived at the bar, Sofia deposited her luggage first. Her besties who recognized her were already waving at her.

As soon as she sat down, a friend handed her a glass of wine and shouted, "Hurry up, our dear Fifi has returned from her study in France. Tonight, we are going to celebrate for you! So, I propose, you take three glasses to begin the party!"

Sofia had no choice but to drink three tall glasses of Long Island Iced Tea, even though she easily got drunk.

She started coughing as soon as she finished drinking. Long Island "Iced Tea" was actually a hard drink, which made her choked and made her face turn red.

"This is not enough. No one is allowed to leave the party unless Sofia passed out tonight!" Someone beside Sofia refilled her glass and urged her to continue.

...

"My head hurts..." said Sofia, who was so drunk that she couldn't see her surroundings clearly. She scratched her head and started stumbling on her steps, until she bumped into something. Her body swayed and fell on the floor.

"President, are you alright?" The assistant hurriedly asked the man standing in the corridor with a concerned tone.

The man in the corridor was very tall. His hair was combed back, showing his outstandingly handsome face, on which there was a domineering look.

"Ah, it hurts! My head hurts..." Sofia murmured. If she could have seen her drunk self right now, she would kill herself on spot.

Ian James was planning to ignore this drunken head. As he was turning to leave, Sofia unconsciously turned her head, facing his direction. His steps paused, and his gaze lingered on Sofia's face.

"President? The manager is waiting for you downstairs," the assistant gently reminded him.

As soon as the assistant finished speaking, Sofia started murmuring again, "It's so hot, I feel so hot... W-water... I need water..."

Ian hesitated before he walked away without looking back.

The girl lying on the ground was actually not a stranger to him. What a coincidence! Just this afternoon, his family told him he had been arranged for a marriage when he was eight years old. The girl he was named Sofia Thompson, the only granddaughter of the Thompson family. His mother even showed him a photo of her. Who knew he would meet her tonight?

However, Ian did not want to pursue the marriage, especially now that he caught Sofia tipsy on the ground. His impression of her could not be worse.

As soon as Ian and his assistant left, Sofia was the only one left on the corridor on the second floor of the bar, lying and rolling.

Three men with their hair dyed blonde went up the second floor shortly. One of them squatted on the floor, leering the girl on the floor, and said, "This girl is pretty and has a nice body, but why is she alone and drunk?"

Another man said with disdain, "Is there any girl in this bar who isn't drunk? It's normal to be drunk in a bar." The third man also squatted on the ground and held Sofia's hand. His eyes were glinting with lust as he smirked. "We are lucky tonight."
