It's six o'clock in the morning of 13th May 2000, a soft breeze blowing from a partially open window, putting the curtain to a little flight, awakes Lilly, sleeping on the bed next to the Window. Reluctantly, she slips into her gown realizing it's four days to her wedding. "Good morning Lilly, four days to go! Oh wow" speaking to herself excitedly she walks to the bathroom door across the room with much enthusiasm.
After a warm shower a knock at the door rushes Lilly as she grabs her gown to cover herself thinking within her heart, "this might be Jane." The previous day she and Jane had decided to visit Carolina their most favorite hair dresser in town. It was going to be going to be a very busy week as Lilly and her family are expecting visitors. Lilly had been dating John, a very jovial guy serving in the military. He had just moved in town a year ago after the deployment from military school. Their relationship has been steady, with not much misunderstandings like she experienced in her former relationship.
As she opens the door her boyfrienpens the door a cool breeze blows directly on her face, and she realizes she needed to run with the idea to get an electric heater. Ndola her place of residence usually experience cool air flows as their country Zambia has a climatic condition similar to that of neighboring Zimbabwe and at this time cool breezes are almost everywhere. Standing at her door she glance to to see who could be knocking.
A mail delivery man with a little mostach grins at her from the door asking;
"Could you be Miss Lilly Malaya?", Oh yes I am she, can I help you?, " Lilly replies. "Please pardon me, you have a mail, and am here for the delivery." Oh thank you, is there anywhere I have e sign?" yes here on the recievers sign," "thank you." "I have never seen you around here?" the mail man says smilingly. "Oh yes, I just moved around here two months ago." "Oh I see, no wonder we have never met before. My home is just about two streets across from here, Oh where did I keep my manners, am Simeon." "Nice to meet you, mine is Lilly Malaya." "Yes, I know from the mail." "Yes please, thank you so much for the mail." " You are welcome. Please if you happen to have any plumbing work to do, never hesitate to call me" Simeon says as he reaches to a card in his wallet. "Oh , thank you, I will sure do. I have a few liking taps am sure I will need your help. Could you probably come over tomorrow afternoon and have a look at them? Lately the water bill has been so high, I would really appreciate if you came through." " No problem, you may please count on me I will keep my word," says Simeon smilingly. "Okay, good to hear, tomorrow afternoon then." Lilly replies with a grin on her face.Turning back inside the house, Lilly begins to wander where this mail could have come from. She has not received a mail except the one from her former high school results back in the days when she completed her senior secondary school. Excitedly she walks in the house and decides she will open later the mail, carefully she slips the mail on the dressing mirror as she grabs her towel to complete getting ready for the saloon as prearranged with Jane.
