Prologue
Run Lily run!..
My brother shouted at me, I couldn’t help but to turn back to the hallway. I felt my heart drop to my stomach and my eyes widened as i saw that monster Luca aiming his gun at my twin brother Billy. Billy looked at me with pitiful eyes and tears rolling down his cheeks, shaking his head feebly. Luca deadly glance shot towards me, I froze when my eyes met his, he smirked evilly with a look of fire in his eyes.
“
Get her!” he commanded to his men.
I quickly ran out of the building with tears streaming down on my face, feeling overwhelmed by the hopelessness. Nooo I tripped and fell on the ground when I heard two simply bullets whistle. I swallowed hard in fear and quickly stood up before those filthy men catch me. I scanned around at my surroundings and saw dark shadows on the walls.
I heard voices from behind me so I hid behind one of those filthy dumpsters. Oh boy!, they smelled like death. I made my body small by pulling my knees to my chest and tried to make no sound. My heart was racing so fast, I thought I was going to have a heart attack. The voices approached and I heard heavy and fast paced footsteps echo through the wall, I knew that in seconds they would find me, part of me wished for death so I wouldn’t need to run ever again.
“I told you that brat went to the other way!”
“shut the fuck up! That bitch must be close I can feel it”
I closed my eyes, prayed silently that they didn’t find me, as soon as I opened them, I couldn’t hear anyone anymore, I sighed in relief and ran. I didn’t dare to look back, I was used at running without looking back-at letting go of the people I care about.
I gasped as I ran into a pole, suddenly everything turned dark, I grabbed the pole and waited a minute till the dizzy feeling faded and myvision went to normal. I’ve been running for a good ten minutes.
I groaned in pain, my legs were sore. My breathing quickened and, my throat was so dry as if I hadn’t tasted water in ages. I looked around frantically and realized that I was on the main road. Thank God! I saw a black car heading my way. I tried to stop the car by waving at the driver, I didn’t think the driver saw me, so I ran closer to the car.
