Chapter 1
As I walked from school to MacDonald where I did my part time job, I thought of all the possible outcomes of my decision. Being a smart student, I've always been doing well in school until my chemistry teacher complained about me lacking behind.
I knew what the reason was, it was because I missed school on some days due to stress. I worked as a waitress after school everyday to help my mom with the bills.
Mr Knight my chemistry teacher offered to help, he suggested that I pay for extra lessons after school. I decided to drop one of my part time jobs and I used part of my savings to pay for the extra lessons although it was not enough.
Reaching MacDonald's, I greeted my boss; a middle aged woman with beautiful linings of grey hair and the only person who likes me at least. After serving few tables, it's 6:30pm so I head home.
Mum is asleep when I arrive but a few slices of pizza is in the fridge. I eat and sleep off thinking of my first extra lessons class starting tomorrow
The beeping sound of my alarm clock wakes me up by 6:30am. I rush to the small bathroom where I brush my teeth and take my bathe. I go to the kitchen to make breakfast of pancakes for me and mom. By the time I'm done, mom's awake.
"Good morning dear, how was your night? When did you get home?" My mom asked
"My night was fine, I'm sorry I got home late."
"It's okay, hurry up so you won't be late" My mum was someone who lived to impress others so I wasn't the type who will stuff food in my mouth just because I'm late. I wasn't also the type who practiced tardiness. So after taking time to finish my pancakes and strawberry syrup, I headed for school.
"I used part of my savings to pay for an extra chemistry lesson, my teacher complained about me not doing well" I said when I was about to leave through our cracked wooden door.
"Take care of yourself, I might not come home early because Amanda is returning today, I'm so happy" Amanda was the eldest daughter and child of my mom's boss, she worked as a babysitter.
I took a cab to school as I thought more about my life. Being in my last year in high school, my plan is getting a full-time job after my graduation from high school in order to save more money for college.
Reaching the school premises, my first stop is my locker where I drop my bag and take out my English text book and notebook for my English class. The day goes by fast and the bell for break is heard.
