Chapter 1

In the main hall of Gurdes Prison, located on Hanging Island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

A middle-aged man dressed in a suit slowly descended from the plane with the help of a young man and a flight attendant. He was trembling, pale as a ghost.

His face scrunched up with every step he took. He was in a lot of pain. However, being a person of considerable social status, he had to force himself to endure it. With the help of those two people, he walked forward with agonizing steps.

"General Louis!"

When the warden saw the man walking over, he quickly stood up and saluted.

The guest was a high-ranking general hailing from a district in Summer Country. His name was Emmanuel Louis, a prominent figure in the military. He was a general that everyone in Summer Country respected.

Contemporaneously, he was also the youngest general of Summer Country. His future was endlessly bright.

"You don't have to be so polite, warden. Good job handling things here. Where is Magic Doctor Handley?"

Emmanuel waved his hand around.

The warden was Gordan Smith, the supervisor of the prison in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. He had received news in advance of Emmanuel's arrival, so he had been waiting ahead of time to welcome him.

"General Louis, Addison is already waiting in the hall. This way, please."

Gordan led the way, while Emmanuel and the rest followed behind him. They arrived at the hall on the first floor in a stately manner.

Addison was sitting calmly on the sofa, having completely turned a blind eye to them coming in.

He was young and handsome, in his early twenties. A cigarette dangled from his mouth; he appeared entirely complacent.

His name was Addison, or as Gordan had referred to him, Magic Doctor Handley!

"You've summoned me here today. Who's the patient that I have to treat?"

"Magic Doctor Handley, that would be me."

Emmanuel coughed violently. Since he fell ill, the smell of cigarettes became intolerable to him.

"Addison, put out your cigarette. General Louis can't stand the smell."

At that moment, Gordan hurriedly stepped in.

Addison ignored the order and mulled staidly, "Coughing more will be good for him."

When one guard heard that, blood rushed to his head. In his rage, he stepped forward and tried to snatch the cigarette from Addison's mouth.

But as he reached out halfway, Addison waved his hand, and the guard suddenly felt as if he had been struck by lightning. His right hand was paralyzed and he lost consciousness.

"A professional!"

The guard immediately understood that Addison was a professional!

In the next second, Emmanuel's personal guards aimed their dozens of guns at Addison. His safety was the utmost priority to them.

"Is that how you treat doctors?"

Addison looked up at Emmanuel.

Emmanuel waved his hand, and the guards put their guns away immediately.

"Magic Doctor Handley, I'm sorry. My subordinates are all in the army. It's inevitable that they are prone to outbursts. If they've offended you, allow me to offer my apologies right here and now."

Emmanuel bowed to Addison and smiled.

Addison nodded.

"It's a doctor's duty to cure diseases and save people. If your disease isn't cured, you will definitely die."

"How can you be so sure even though you haven't examined my father's condition yet?" The young man standing next to Emmanuel was his son, Albert Louis. He had been observing Addison since he came in. His impression was that Addison was a demanding person who wanted to make matters difficult for them. "Are you a quack?"

Addison glanced at the youth. With a chilly smile, he said, "I can tell what General Louis's illness is by a single glance."

"Do enlighten us."

Albert had a look of disbelief on his face.

Addison didn't bother arguing with him. He looked directly at Emmanuel and asked, "Let me ask you, do you often have migraines, occasionally get bouts of nausea, and sometimes even have nightmares in the middle of the night, which has led to poor sleep quality?"

Emmanuel nodded repeatedly to all of the questions. "Magic Doctor, you're completely right. That's exactly what has been ailing me. Please save me."

Albert was also extremely taken aback. What Addison had just said was all accurate.

"Curing your illness is not a big deal for me, but before I treat you, I want the warden to fulfill the conditions I propose first. Otherwise, this will remain a mere discussion."

Gordan frowned slightly. He was well aware of Addison's plan. He wanted to reduce his sentence.

"Mr. Smith, why are you do you have such a bitter look on your face? We have an agreement, you and I. Don't tell me you're going back on your word?"

Addison's gaze bore into Gordan.

Gordan looked helpless. He approached Addison and whispered, "Addison, I do want to help you, but you should know that the law prohibits us from reducing a criminal's sentence twice in a row. I won't be able to explain this to the higher-ups."
