Episode 1
The tranquility lingered for about an hour in a deep forest. The birds were singing and everything was dark and cold.
I climb the hills in my front, standing on the hill, I could hear different voices shouting. I thought I was in hell and have reached the end of earth. I panicked in fear of the unknown. I slipped down the hills where I saw people shouting for help.
I was sweating like a Christmas goat from my head to my toe when I woke up from my dreamI took to and fro sitting on my bed covered with my blanket my heart was beating faster and fear was written over me
" This dream again! " I said trying to figure out what the dream meant.
I was about to get up from my bed. I spotted a ran in my front.fear overwhelmed me and I shouted like I have seen a ghost.
" Mum" I shouted at the very top of my voice. It seems the rat was looking at me straight in the eye. Eyebrows to eyebrows glaring at me seriously
" Boom!" My junior brother jump out of his hiding place laughing
My heart almost jump out of its place so I fainted
I regained consciousness after water was spiked on me.
I open my eyes slowly and saw my junior brother laughing at me
" What happened why did you fainted" mum asked placing a wet handkerchief on my head
My eyes searches around and I saw the rat again
I pointed to the rat.
My mum took a close look at the rat who was moving nor shaking. It was at the same spot before I fainted
" This is a dead rat" mum said almost breaking into laughter.
" What!" I exclaimed looking shocked.
Jonny face has changed I guess he knew he is in trouble with mum. He slowly open the door and left.
I wish I could beat him up for making a fool out of me. But I couldn't why? I am afraid what of if he beat me up.
My name is Alex and I am twenty years old. I am in my final year in the university. But I got low self-esteem as a result of cowardliness.
I got dressed up for school. I had to trek to the junction to get a cab to take me to school. As I was going , a particular mad man who hairs are tattered and clothes were torned. He was holding in his hands a bag of trash. I try to dodge him but he was in my front persistently.
I devise a means to distract the mad man by trowing stone at him.
Then I started running, he ran after me
" Your people are waiting for you . Hear the call of nature" he shouted.
I could hear what he is saying cos his voice is vvery loud. I didn't stop running. I got to a place and heave a sigh of relief breathing aloud. I took a deep breath, I didn't see him anymore but what he said kept on troubling my mind so I thought to myself" nothing good can come out of a mad person mouth than jargons".
I cleaned myself up journey back to the place I will take a cab
I was late for lectures by the time I got to school and blamed the mad man for this cursing myself cos I should have slapped the mad man.
I saw Ifeademi my girlfriend and my coursemate. She was laughing hysterically watching a video.
I thought to myself
" What is going on I hope this mad man spirit hasn't come to Ifeademi."
" Hey" I tap her
She was so engrossed in the video she doesn't know am beside her. I glanced a the video she was watching I saw it was the video of how my junior brother almost scare the hell out of me.
" Ittle devil" I cursed under my breath
I snatched the I phone away from her
" What is all this nosense" she said and look at me and burst into laughter
" Alex you should become a stand up comedian. I am sure you will make it. I watched this video 20 times this morning" she continued laughing. My eyes became watery like I want to cry
She saw my face
" Common Alex I told you not to not to fear anything nor anyone. You are matured for God sake". Ifeademi said using her face towel to Clean up my face
" I will change" I replied
' lest I forget this man gave us an assignment and I don't know it. You will do the assignment for me" she brought out her notes and place it on my lap
" Am not doing the assignment" I said sliently.
" You are not doing what! " She asked
" Nothing" I said
" Say it and I will call off this relationship now." She threatened
" I said I will do the assignment" I reply even though I don't want to do it cos all her assignments she is always passing it across to me.
I am the most intelligent and studious guy in my department right from 100 level my g.p are always on the top.
So what did you expect, I have a feeling she loves me because I'm intelligent but I dare not tell her to go unless she said I will die.
