Ryan, "Alicia, who are you talking with all the day?"
Alicia immediately hung up the phone and turned around giving Ryan her mostly amiable smile.
Alicia teasingly said," What? Are you jealous?"
Ryan," Yes! I am. I am with you here to celebrate our first meeting anniversary. You promised me to give your all time. But see! You have been talking on the phone so long ignoring me." Saying this Ryan pouted his lips like a little child.
Seeing him like this Alicia chuckled, "You are such a baby. I am talking on phone because i am arranging a special surprise for you on your upcoming birthday."
Ryan confusedly, "Surprise for my birthday? What is it?"
Alicia gave him a meaningful look," I told you it's a surprise. Why should i say now? You have to wait until your birthday."
Ryan, "Fine. I'll wait. But today i can't afford to waste thinking about my upcoming birthday surprise. So let's go. The movie is going to begin".
After that they went to watch a movie in theater. Enjoying the movie, having dinner together, went to a pub. They didn't realise how the time passed having each other side by side. They sat at the riverside and remensing about their first meeting.
It was their common friend Julia's birthday. Julia is Alicia's childhood friend. On the other side Ryan's university friend. When Julia introduced Ryan to Alicia he can not take off his eyes from Alicia.
Alicia wore a white gown, let along her long hair floating with minimal make up. Simple but elegant. Most attractive part of her's was her heart blooming smile with a dimple.
Ryan was a playboy type. So he entangled with various girls previously. But she never met that pure innocent beauty before. He was in daze when Julia called him.
Julia, "Hey Ryan! I am telling you she is not your type."
Ryan,"What are you talking about?"
Julia," Do you think i am fool? You are looking at Alicia for a long time. I know you very well. You are always attracted towards beauty."
Ryan ,"..."
Julia," Alicia is not so easy girl that you can hook up. So please give up."
Ryan sighed," Julia, do you think i also like those type of easy going girls? And if you know me well i am not the one who take initiative to hook up they always come to me."
Julia," Yeah, that's true. But still i am warning you if you have that kind of thought just put down."
Ryan looked at Julia seriously, "Julia, this time i am serious."
Julia looked at Ryan shockingly," What?!"
Ryan," Yes. I always dream of a girl like Alicia. But I always thought it was only dream. In reality there is no that kind of girl. But today after meeting her i realised i should not give up on this girl until my last breath."
Hearing his over sensitive words Julia can not believe her ears. This guy who was never serious about girls suddenly become like this just at first sight. Julia suddenly realised that this time Ryan is actually serious.
Julia," I think this time i should give you my support. By the way Alicia has no boyfriend. So i think you can try."
Ryan was so happy hearing this, " Really! She has no boyfriend?"
Julia," yes. So don't waste your time and just go to her."
Ryan wanted to go but suddenly feel nervous.
Ryan," How can i start a conversation with her?"
Julia frowning, " Ard you kidding me Ryan? You are Ryan Shen....you hooked up with so many girls till now. I have never seen you like this nervous."
Ryan," You told me she is different. She is not like that kind of girls. Those girls are easy approaching. But she is different.."
Julia gave him a unpatient look," okay fine. Then i will help you. But you have to pursue her in tonight. Because she is going back tomorrow. So you have just one chance tonight. After that i can not help you."
Ryan,"..."
Ryan," Okay fine. Now tell me how can you help me?"
Julia whisper something in his ear and his eyes light up in an instant.
Ryan walked towards Alicia who was chatting with another girl. He stopped infront of her.
Ryan," Miss Alicia can i dance with you?"
Alicia looked at Ryan shockingly beacuase of his sudden appearance. Then she gave a faint smile.
Alicia," Mr. Ryan i am not so good in dance."
Ryan was expecting that because Julia already warned him.
Ryan," It's okay if you don't want to dance with me. I am not going to force you."
Saying this he turned around just going to leave but Alicia called out suddenly.
Alicia," well if you promise me to teach me how to dance i can try with you."
Ryan turned back and gave her a joyful smile. And yah that was the starting of their amazing love journey. After that night they started to know each other, falling for each other everyday more and more.
They are just holding each other for a long time remembering their sweet moments of this one year. Suddenly Alicia's phone rang. She picked up the phone. After talking for a while she cut off the phone with grim expression.
Ryan," what happend? Why are you looking so upset?"
Alicia," Felicia is not coming on this christmas."
Ryan," Felicia....you mean your younger sister? Why she can not come back?"
Alicia," I told you she has gone abroad for music study. Now she got a good offer performing in a concert. So she'll have to go to USA. She can not join us on christmas."
Ryan," Don't be upset. You also want your sister becomes successful, right?"
Alicia," Yap. But i also want you to introduce with her on your birthday. But it seems like i can not give you the surprise." She said sadly.
Ryan," What is so surprising about her that you even don't give me a chance to talk with her on phone?"
Alicia winked," Its a secret."
Ryan just nodded his head. There is nothing to say. Every time she showed that kind of mysterious look.
After spending whole evening together they decided to return. Alicia and Ryan just walking towards their car. Suddenly Alicia noticed a ice cream van at the other side of the road.
Alicia,'' Ryan, i want to eat ice cream."
Ryan," okay. I am going to buy for you. Just stay here."
Ryan just going to leave. Suddenly his phone rang. Ryan took out the phone. Seeing the phone is from his office.
Ryan looked at Alicia," just wait. It's an urgent call."
He started talking on the phone. After a while Alicia found that Ryan is on very important talk on phone so she decided to go by herself to the ice cream van.
Alicia," Ryan you just keep talking. I am going to buy the ice cream."
Before Ryan could say anything she already left to the other side of the road. She bought two ice creams. One is strawberry for herself and another one is chocolate for Ryan.
When she was returning a large truck came from behind. Before anyone could react the unexpected accident already happened. Ryan was shocked to see the pool of blood covering Alicia's body. His phone fell on the ground from his hand. He tremblingly run towards her. He squat on his knee and cupped her face.
Ryan's voice was shaking," Alicia what happened to you? Why are you not talking to me?! Damn it! Just talk to me!!!..."
But no one responded. She was just lying lifelessly into his arms. His hands were full of with her blood....suddenly the rain began. The blood was like pool in the rain water....His tears and rain water just mixed up....
