CHAPTER 1
There was chaos in both realms, the angels in disbelief and agony while the demons in excitement at the abomination being created.
"Push Yael, you can do it, we're almost there." The man she loved held her arms tightly as she screamed out in pain at the contraction of her lower body.
The rumbling of the thunder in the skies and the flashing of the lighting accompanied her every struggle. The sound of hurried feet running into the room but the man on the edge, seeing that it was only his brother, Aclahayr.
"We must hurry they're almost here." Aclahayr said glancing at the woman in labor.
"Can't you hold them off for a while, if she moves they might both die." He said looking down at the woman he swore to protect.
"There are limits to what I can do brother, and helping the two people who is causing such chaos in our worlds is treason and punishable by eternal death." Aclahayr reminded taking slow steps around the alter where the two stayed.
"But don't worry, I have doubled the barrier spell around, it should give you guys more time." He added.
The woman screamed again, her voice echoing around the entire building weakening the glass and shattering them, the shards flying across the room. Aclahayr watched his brother's wing emerge out from his shirt ripping the material off his body, the huge dark black wings covering both woman and child who was halfway out in the world.
"Ve...t... is..." she croaked out, her blue eyes still shinning even under the darkness created by his wings, Vetis slowly uncovered them, revealing her face which was disheveled, her white hair wet with sweat, capturing the small smile forming on her lips.
"Would you look at that? My niece is born." Aclahayr said amused. Vetis turned towards where the baby had been laid.
"It's a girl." Vetis said, the small baby stayed still, no cries, no movement, almost like she wasn't alive. Carrying the girl in his arms, he looked at the girl with so much love yet grief, she had white hair just like her mother, her skin white, her eyes were closed with no sign that she was awake, he felt a tiny poke on his arms, carefully turning the baby around, he saw the tail which moved and curled around his pinkie.
"This is incredible, no one had imagined this ever happening and yet I witness the birth of an abomination child." Aclahayr said, an amused glint in his eyes.
Ignoring his brother comment, he stood next to the woman who was now breathing slowly, her eyes trying to stay open.
"Yael, she looks just like you." He chuckled nervously. "She has your hair and skin, and she has a tail."
The baby slowly opened her eyes, the white and black orbs staring at Vetis, she extends her hands towards her mother who watched in amusement.
The sudden shaking of the entire building made them snap their heads, the rumbling of the foundation vibrating causing the altar which yael laid upon to rock abruptly.
"They are coming." Vetis said, he reached for Yael, holding her weak body in his arms and flapping his wings which created strong airy sounds as he levitated off the ground.
"Aclahayr, we need cover an..." Vetis began to speak turning to his brother who stared at him with an amused smirk on his face, he noticed the two new entity in the room. Taking a defensive stance, using his wings to cover up the two situated in his arms.
"What did you do?" Vetis snarled at his brother.
"Nothing brother, I just need to control the entire situation." He replied, walking ahead of the two demons.
"They sent you didn't they?" Vetis asked again, feeling the presence of ghouls in the room increase.
"Tsk tsk, no one sent me brother." Aclahayr replied his wings unfolding from his body, he pushed himself off the ground until he was at the same height with his brother.
"What do you want?" Vetis snarled his brows frowning in anger. Aclahayr smiled wickedly, his perfectly aligned teeth in display.
"Is that a question you should be asking me brother? Don't ask for something you can't give." He replied. "I want the girl or Yael, one of the two."
Vetis face twitched in anger at his brother's words.
"You ask for impossible things."
"Exactly, that's why I want to do this properly, by asking you nicely or..." he paused." The not so nice way."
"You're forgetting that it would take more than a hundred legions to get me to surrender." Vetis said, his eyes gazing down at the now infested floor covered with ghouls who were preying on the small baby in his hands.
"I know, but it's not just me." he smiled. "The archangels would be here soon, although they want two things, kill you and the baby and take possession of Yael's body, and probably throwing her into purgatory."
Vetis knew he was right, it was only a matter of time before the archangels found them and he knew one thing, they were not as merciful as his brother was being right now.
At a vast speed, he flies out of the room breaking the barriers, he watched far down at his brothers face which was in a smile. This was war. He could sense the immerse energy coming from around him, zooming through the skies, he could hear the babies' subtle cries, landing on the roof of a human's house, he laid both baby and mother side by side, his eyes widened when he realized that Yael's thumb was bleeding and their baby's chest now having some bloody markings. It was a seal.
"Yael, what are you doing?" he asked his hands stroking her hair. Yael, sat up, her hair blowing in the wind.
"We need to seal her identity as both angel and demon." Yael answered.
"She'll become human...."
"And live a normal life, not caught up in our mistake." She finished cradling her baby in her arms.
"Who's there?" a voice called out, the light to the balcony is turned on and in walks a young woman and her husband side by side.
Vetis snarled at them but Yael put her hands around his arms pulling him back.
"They can't see us." She reminded him, her eyes studied the woman as her black hair was tussled by the wind, Yael watched as they woman used her palms to cover her lips in bewilderment.
"Honey can you see this?" her husband muttered closely beside her and she nodded.
"Are you alright?" she asked Yael who stared, she could see them. She had heard of few cases where humans could see angels and demons but never experienced it. They could see them and they were offering to help. The clouds rumbled again.
"We can help you please come in." the woman pleaded her husband still staring in shock.
"Sarah, you want to invite them in!" he husbands whispered yelled at his wife.
"They need help Arnold."
"But they are...supernatural beings, aren't they supposed to be the ones helping us." He defended.
"Don't be silly Arnold, they have weaknesses too." She said.
"There isn't enough time for this Yael, they'll find us soon." Vetis said harshly cutting the human couple from their bickering.
"I would finish with the seal; you need to help me out with this." Yael said, drawing a symbol on her baby chest.
They both perform the sealing technique together, while the human couple watched. Yael managed to stand upright with her baby clutched in her arms, looking at Sarah and her husband.
"Sarah, you're blessed to see both an angel and demon..." she began.
"I thought it was impossible for both angel and demon to be together." Sarah muttered.
"It's not, Vetis and I is a proof, it's an abomination but we can't let them kill our baby girl." Yael said turning to look at Vetis who stared at her with love in his eyes.
"You two love each other." Sarah's husband whispered.
"Please, we need you to take care of her." She pleaded. "We have sealed her dual spirit, no demon or angel can detect her, instead she's like one of you."
"But how do we...."
"Raise her as one of your own, I'll turn the hearts of humans to meet your needs so that you can have everything." Yael added, Sarah walked forwards reaching for the baby who's two colored eyes had now turned grey.
"And what about our protection?" Sarah's husband asked. "How are we sure we are not going to get attacked by either angel..." he trailed off looking at Yael and then turning his gaze to Vetis. "or demons."
"Angels wont attack humans, demons would but I could but a permanent seal of protection on you both and everything you own." Vetis said.
"Fine." He agreed, holding his wife and watching the angel and demon pull back, with grief expressions written all over their faces.
"This is Goodbye." Yael said taking one last look at her baby and then the couple.
"Thank you." She said smiling at them and then they disappeared.
