Introducción

Daisy Bloom was a renowned food blogger—until Daisy opened her eyes and found herself reborn inside a period novel as Ellie, a fake daughter destined for a tragic end. Worse still, before she could make sense of her situation, the real rich girl knocked her out and forced her into marriage—with an “old man” no less! Rumors whispered that her husband was ugly, crippled, and already had two children. If she married him, she’d become a stepmother. Even more terrifying, Daisy in the novel was a vicious supporting character, doomed to be trampled beneath the heroine’s feet and die as nothing more than a stepping stone. No way—this time, she would rewrite her fate! Instead of desperately struggling to return to the city, Daisy walked straight to the rumored crippled man, smiled sweetly, and declared: "Robin, I'm here to marry you." Yet the so-called “old and lame” man was anything but. Towering and powerful, with sculpted muscles and an aura of dominance—this was no ordinary man. He was the formidable commander of the legion! At that moment, Daisy had only one thought: Hold onto this man for dear life! After marriage, she won him over with her unrivaled cooking skills, dazzling him with one exquisite dish after another. Soon, even the iron-blooded commander was wrapped around her little finger. Armed with modern supplies and a mysterious space, she overturned fate, attracting the novel’s key figures to her side one by one. Meanwhile, the so-called heroine could only stare in disbelief. "Wait—why is everyone siding with her? I’m the heroine!"

Chapter 1

"Miss, miss, wake up!"

Daisy Bloom was roused from her groggy state by a voice calling out to her.

She squinted against the light, her gaze landing on a rusty ceiling swaying above her. Not just the ceiling—her whole body rocked with it.

Wait… was she on a ship?

Through the cabin window, sunlight shimmered on the vast, endless ocean. Daisy stared blankly at the dazzling blue waves.

"Miss Daisy, the ship’s about to dock. You should start packing up and get ready to disembark," the voice spoke again beside her.

Disembark?

Where was she even going?

Just as Daisy was about to ask, a sharp pain tore through her head. A surge of unfamiliar memories flooded in all at once.

And that’s when it hit her—she had transmigrated.

She wasn’t just in any era. She had landed smack in the resource-starved 1970s… and inside the body of the fake, brainless villainess from a book she’d read.

The girl she now inhabited shared her name: Daisy.

This original Daisy had a well-off background—her father was a university professor, and her mother, was an editor at a newspaper. In this era, that made them part of the intellectual elite. Being their only child, she was doted on and spoiled to no end.

She even had an arranged marriage lined up with the son of a printing factory owner, just waiting to come of age to make it official.

But on her 18th birthday, the real heiress suddenly showed up on their doorstep.

Turns out Ellie Bloom—their real daughter—had been mistakenly raised in the countryside. Her life had been tough, but once she discovered she came from a city family, she immediately returned to reclaim her place.

It was the kind of tear-jerking reunion that made headlines.

One was the biological child they’d lost for years, the other was the girl they had lovingly raised all her life. Daisy’s parents couldn’t bear to let either go. So, they chose to keep both and treat them equally.

At least, that’s what they said on the surface.

Ellie, the long-lost daughter, acted sweet and obedient. She never caused trouble—on the outside.

But in reality, she was greedy and scheming.

Back in the village, she’d set her sights on a young man who had joined the army and was getting a government subsidy. She visited his family every day, angling for a marriage. The family, afraid of gossip, eventually agreed.

Then, they got the news: the man had been injured in battle and transferred to a remote border island.

Years passed. Now, the man—Robin Clover—had written, demanding Ellie fulfill her end of the engagement and live with him on the island.

But Ellie was already living her dream life in the city. Why would she go suffer on some desolate island? Especially to marry a man rumored to be crippled and scarred?

Her educated parents, however, didn’t believe in breaking engagements. So Ellie devised a cruel plan.

She pretended to agree but secretly teamed up with a village thug named Charlie. Together, they knocked the original Daisy unconscious and dumped her on a creaky ship bound for the island.

Once she was out at sea, there’d be no turning back. Even if she resisted, she'd be forced to accept her fate.

Such a vicious setup!

And Daisy—the one from the 21st century—arrived just in time to be caught in the middle of this mess.

Now here she was, in the ship’s cabin, headed straight for the island!

Taking a deep breath, Daisy slowly sat up and thanked the person who woke her.

"Thanks for the reminder. I’m awake now."

She couldn’t believe her luck.

Not only had she transmigrated, but she’d become the scapegoat in someone else’s story.

And the worst part?

In the original novel Rebirth: Good Times in the Seventies, her character was doomed from the start—a fake heiress and villainous ex-wife meant to be trampled by the real heroine.

The original Daisy had fiercely resisted marrying into island life. Who could blame her? The island lacked everything, and she was a pampered city girl through and through.

Her fiancé, Robin Clover, was no catch either. At thirty, he’d adopted two kids from fallen comrades and treated them like his own.

The moment Daisy married him, she became a stepmother—twice over.

But the spoiled Daisy had no patience for parenting, especially not someone else’s children. She was painted as a tyrant in the military dependent’s courtyard—entitled, selfish, and cruel. The villainous stepmother trope to a T.

Then fate stepped in. A sudden typhoon claimed Daisy’s life, leaving Robin with a tragic reputation as a “wife killer.”

Enter the reborn heroine.

She knew Robin’s future—he would one day rise to power as a respected leader in the military district. So she clung to him and somehow obtained a miraculous spring water space from him. With that magical cheat, she rose to the top and lived a life everyone envied.

And the original Daisy?

She sank into the ocean, not even a whole body left behind.

Daisy recalled all of this and silently cursed the author.

What kind of grudge did they have against the poor girl?

Thrown into a fake identity, forced into marriage, used as a stepping stone—how was this not a death sentence?

But now, things were different.

She wasn't the doomed original Daisy.

She was Daisy from the 21st century!

Ellie might think she’s won by snatching the city life, but the ‘70s were a volatile time. Intellectuals like her parents lived under constant pressure and suspicion. Their comfortable days might not last.

The island, on the other hand…

It just might be a hidden paradise, untouched by the chaos of the times.

Ellie had no idea what kind of treasure she’d thrown away.

As for Daisy—if she wanted to survive and thrive here, she'd have to drop her spoiled act and grab tightly onto the only lifeline she had left: the male lead himself.

Her eyes sharpened with determination.

As the saying goes, the greater the storm, the stronger the person who weathers it.

And Daisy?

She wasn’t going down without a fight.
