Blue roses sway in the gentle breeze. A lullaby I can't remember the words to, can be heard in the background. These are things I always use to help keep me calm. My mother loved blue roses. I always loved helping her take care of them when I was five. Before she died.
Unlike her, my twin brother, my sixteen other elder brothers, and my little sister. I was born half human while being half dragon and half fae until I turned sixteen.
The day I turned sixteen, I 'died' and was reborn into a body that could support all three beings at once.
Now, I'm half vampire, dragon, and fae. And the spitting image of my mother. Only my eyes are not her sky blue, but a blood red that terrifies even the bravest of men.
After being reborn into the body of a four-year-old child. I was taken in by assassins and raised by them.
From then on, I was the most feared female assassin the world had ever seen. An assassin that cannot die and is far too overpowered. Even the men that raised me, were terrified of me and what I can do.
The sound of my three year old son giggling fills the bedroom of the small wooden cottage we live in. He looks more and more like his father everyday.
My Xavier, my first mate, my first and only love. Died before I got the chance to tell him he was going to be a father. Brutally murdered and left on the doorstep the same day I found out we were expecting our son.
Of course I killed the men who killed him. They all cried for mercy, but all I could feel was a blind rage. They killed my mate. They suffered my wrath.
"Mommy! Look!" My little Xander called for me as he showed me his little baby dragon wings that look exactly like mine. Black as night wings that seemed to have stars glistening in them.
My little baby is growing too fast. I smile warmly at him, "I see, my little love."
"Can we fly now?" His curious yet excited bright golden eyes sparkle as he looks up at me.
I tilt my head and think for a moment. "Right now?"
"Please? I be careful!" He begs, and I chuckle softly.
"Okay, but you have to promise me that you will hold my hand." I give him my pinkie finger as he nods excitedly before linking his tiny finger with mine. Making a pinkie promise.
"Yay!" He giggles before hugging me then running off to get his shoes. I wish things could stay like this forever.
Standing up myself. I follow him and make sure he has his shoes on correctly before walking out the door.
He makes sure his hand is in mine before copying how I move my wings. Once he has the moves down, we take off into the night sky and above the clouds.
Only when I know he can fly on his own, do I let his hand go while flying under him in case he falls.
Since he is still new to flying, we fly slowly.
After a while, we land next to a large river and bathe after folding our wings and putting them away.
He is practicing his water magic and bending when a large black wolf with eyes that seemed to be carved from a blue moon walks out of the surrounding trees in front of us.
The wolf does not seem to be harmful, but I keep my guard up just in case.
Paying attention to my son. I watch as he makes a very detailed cat fish with the water as he sits in my lap in the river. "Mommy! I did it!" He shouts as he giggles and shows me.
I smile at him, my eyes soft when I look at him. "I see that. You did a very good job." I pet his head gently.
"Your turn mommy!" He tilts his head back to look up at me and I chuckle softly.
"Okay, what should I make?"
"Tiger!"
I kissed the top of his head gently before using my water magic and making a baby tiger from the water in front of him.
"Pretty! Like mommy!" I will never get used to his adorable high pitched baby voice. I wish he could stay this little forever.
Suddenly, the wolf shifted into a man. A very tall man with black hair that reached his shoulders and eyes the color of bright blue seas. To a normal person, he would be highly intimidating. With his broad shoulders, and body toned like a god of war.
Scars scatter his build, like he had been one too many close combat fights.
"What are you doing?" He asks. His voice deep and guttural. Like the growl of a dragon when angered.
"Mommy and I are playing!" Xander says before I could answer. "Want to come play with us?" He asks.
His words catch me off guard. He usually clings to me when we are around strangers, but he seems calm, almost excited with this man he just met.
"Sorry little pup. I'm afraid not, I'm in the middle of hunt."
"Can I go with you? Mommy, can I go with him?" He looks up at me after asking his questions.
"Xander, you are too little. You just met him, and you have yet to get your wolf."
He pouts and starts begging. "Please! I be careful! I promise!"
I sigh. When he gets like this, it is nearly impossible to say no to him.
"Only if I go with you. And he has to agree to it first."
"I don't mind if you join. The more the merrier I say." The man agrees.
This whole time, I have been scanning him, looking for any signs of hostility, but so far, I have found none.
Looking down at my baby, seeing his golden eyes swell with tears. I give in. "You need to dry off and get dressed first, then we can go."
His adorable little face lights up and he quickly gets out of the water, using his air magic to dry off before getting dressed.
I have never seen him this excited for anything, maybe, this man is trustworthy.
