Chapter 1

Let's start with one word; Hot.

Not her body, nor their beauty. But this is the reality.

Two women are being fought in the back of Diandra's car. Annoying. Their shouts sounded so hard, even when Diandra was still in the cashier to pay for a can of beer. So, everyone in that store turns out. Look at that woman throughout from the wall-glass.

"What's going on with them?" a middle-aged man who stood behind Diandra asked a teenage boy next to him.

"Why are you asking me, old man?" he said curtly.

Shook his head, then handed the goods to the cashier to be paid immediately. Then he left. So did Diandra, who walked to the back of her car to see what was going on. Where they were fighting so hard about. But, the question is; What the hell are they fighting at 10 p.m.?!

There are two women. One looked older, maybe around thirty, and was wearing a tight suit and a span skirt. Her hair is in a high ponytail, has a long neck, and is carrying a handbag that seems ready to be slammed into her opponent. Then, one looks younger. About her mid-twenties and wearing a shirt that was overwritten by a jacket and ripped jeans. Let her hair down. Her eyes glared at the older woman. This shows that she does not feel scared of the woman in front of her.

They didn't just fight. The two also made it difficult for Diandra to get the car out of the parking area. Get in the way.

"Erm, excuse me, ladies. What can I―"

See, even though Diandra asked politely and gently. But the response of that two women was like this;

"Shut up, you fucking stranger!"

And,

"Go away and don't meddle, you bastard!"

This makes Diandra can only gape and be dumbfounded. Uh, so scary.

They appear genuinely hot, angry, and in no condition to be questioned. So Diandra cleared her throat softly and scratched at her nape. Back slowly, get into the car. Choosing to wait for these two women to stop fighting. However, it's been over five minutes and it looks like the fight has no signs of ending. Diandra looks around. Nobody wanted to intervene at all for the two women back there who were now slapping each other. Everyone just turned their heads, looked for a moment, then walked away.

This can't be tolerant anymore!

So, Diandra got out of the car again after finishing half a can of beer. A step towards these two women.

"Okay, stop."

Diandra held the hand of an older woman, who was raising her hand to slap the girl in front of her. The older woman immediately glared at Diandra and said harshly.

"I said stay out of our business, damn it!"

"No. I don't want to meddle in your business. But the problem is, your car was blocking my car." She nodded her head toward the red car on the side of the two women.

She added, "And you've been fighting so hard since earlier back here. So, even though I wanted to go, I couldn't."

"So, just go away!" she shouts.

"I said, I would, but I can't. Don't you hear what I say before? And by the way, aren't you ashamed to be the center of attention here?" she asked sarcastically.

The girl let out a breath that sounded like a mocking laugh. Rolled his eyes, then showed the middle finger to the older woman as she said;

"Look. Even strangers say you are shameless."

"Shut the fucking up, you bitch!"

"You slut!" she replied quickly.

"What the―"

"Okay. Stop!" Diandra, hold the older woman's hand, "Stop, I said! I just want to get my car out. So, you guys, go find another place to fight. Understand?"

The girl smiled sarcastically, with her arms folded. Trying to heat an older woman.

Saying, "Oh, I don't want to fight with a bitch like you anymore. No wonder Andrew dumped you."

"You ..." the older woman pointed at the girl, angry and trembling. Her teeth were grinding.

Instead of responding with more arguing, the woman got into the car and drive away. Throwing car smoke in the girl's face until she coughed. It also hit Diandra.

It was only after the car had left that Diandra could see some of the girl's groceries scattered on the ground. Like eggs, two cans of sardines, cooking oil, and pasta sauce. The eggs are broken, the oil also spilled. Suddenly, the girl who had looked brave and savage shed tears while picking up her things which fell apart. Even muttering softly, "Sorry."

Diandra, who had turned around to get into the car, was thoughtful for a moment. Turn back and decide to help the girl pick up her messy groceries.

"Let me help."

"No," said the girl, almost in a whisper and half sobbing.

Even though Diandra still helped to tidy up her groceries. Put it in a paper bag and give it to the girl whose face has turned red.

Some couldn't bear, Diandra offered;

"Shall I take you home? Where's your house?"

The girl didn't answer and only watched Diandra between crying and a little suspicious. Understanding that gaze, Diandra explained;

"Don't be afraid. I don't want to mess around. I just ... erm, I thought maybe you need a ride home. It was night, by the way."

And it seemed like that girl needed a ride, so, even though she was a little hesitant, she got into Diandra's car.

Before starting the car, Diandra glanced at the paper bags the girl was carrying with the broken items. So, she left after telling that girl to wait a bit. Entered the shop again and came out in eight minutes with another paper bag containing the same groceries the girl had before.

Hand over the groceries to the girl.

"Here."

With knitted eyebrows, the girl shook her head.

"It's okay. Just take it," said Diandra, reassuring her.

With doubt, the girl accepted it. Then now, Diandra is sitting in front of the steering wheel. Starting the car.

While shifting gears, Diandra asked, "Where's your house?"

"160 Maple Crest Apartments. Three blocks away," she said.

They ride in silence. Neither spoke. The girl just hugged two grocery paper bags while staring out the window. Occasionally seen wiping his tears silently. Meanwhile, Diandra was also speechless but to drive and look ahead. Occasionally stealing glances at the girl sitting next to her. In about five minutes, they arrived at 160 Maple Crest. Where the girl lives.

She opened the car door and got out. Feel more comfortable than five minutes ago.

Before going inside, the girl had said, "Um, wait a minute. Let me get some money."

But Diandra hurriedly denied it.

"What? No. It's fine."

"But, I feel bad with you. Wait a minute, okay? I'll―"

"No. I mean it. Erm, well, I'm leaving. Bye."

Diandra just left, leaving the girl with the remaining smoke of the car like the grumpy woman, making the girl shocked.

She had yelled, "Wha―Hey, wait! I don't know your name yet! Hey ... oh shit!"

But the girl saw Diandra's plate and she will remember it.

Well, and this is how they first met. Kinda absurd, right?

To be continued...
