Chapter 1

West Brunswick.

It was ten o'clock at night.

I opened the door and went into the house. I switched on the lights. The lights from the crystal chandelier in the guest room cast my shadow on the floor-to-ceiling windows.

This house would be my wedding home tomorrow. And my fiancé Perry Bart, a department manager of a company, was handsome and considerate. I was very fortunate to have met such a man in my life.

According to the wedding traditions, we couldn't live together the night before the wedding. Perry lived in our wedding home while I lived in my best friend Liliana Ward's house.

Before I went to bed, I checked the things I needed tomorrow and found that I forgot my bridal veil back in our wedding home.

So I quietly went back to our wedding home without calling Perry beforehand, just to surprise him.

To think that after tomorrow, Perry and I would be able to live happily together forever, a happy smile curved up my mouth.

I put on my slippers and walked to the living room. As I walked, I heard a woman's groan of ecstasy.

I was shocked. The door of the master bedroom was ajar. And the feminine voice came from it.

Suddenly I felt a raging fire burning inside me, and my legs were numbed. But I still walked over involuntarily.

Standing at the door, I could clearly hear the stray cries inside, it became clearer and clearer, and each cries hit my heart heavily.

The door was barely closed. I pushed the door lightly and it was opened.

I saw a woman's high heels, underwear, and stockings scattered on the floor. It was difficult to not imagine things when I saw these.

I forcibly endured my anger and panic and looked towards the bed.  Just a glance and heartache almost suffocated me.

My dear friend and dear roommate from college for four years was riding a man ecstatically. The man under her was my fiancé Perry who was about to marry me tomorrow.

Courtney glanced at me at the door with a trace of provocation in her eyes, and her cry became lewder.

My vision blurred, even my breathing could make me feel heartache at this moment. My fiancé was infatuated in lust and holding another woman in his arms.

Anger and humiliation hit me. I held my hands tightly, suppressing the urge to rush forward and stop them.

Courtney's eyes were seductive. Her slender fingers touched Perry's nape, and her voice was even more charming.

"Darling, you will marry Irene tomorrow. You are still doing this with me now, don't you feel guilty?"

"Why would I feel guilty? There is no difference between doing it now and what we usually do. Besides, she wouldn't know anything about the two of us."

Perry spoke with a deep voice while his hands wandered around Courtney's body.

"What if, in case she comes suddenly and sees us two doing this kind of thing, what do you think she will do? Will she not marry you?"

Courtney looked at me provocatively with a smug sneer at the corner of her mouth.

"She won't come over, and what's the big deal even if she knows. I didn't plan to get married so early."

Perry smiled carelessly, and continued the act with Courtney.

"Since you don't want to get married, then why proceed with the wedding? You have to know that after you get married, we can't meet as often as we do now."
