Chapter 1

Sofia Hart was a little surprised as she walked into this restaurant called "Springfolk".

She had heard that each course here cost at least a hundred dollars. It was a place where the rich spent a lot of money only to feast on the food, or to say, to enjoy the elegant and quiet environment. Hence, she never expected that her date today would choose this place to meet her.

Well, it wasn't the first time in her life to go having dinner at such a high-end restaurant, but you know, it's only one of her many blind dates experience. It actually was her fifth blind date in the past three months. They usually made the dates in some ordinary and economical places, like cafes, even once in the KFC. So suddenly, she felt slightly weird being informed of her date at such a fancy restaurant.

But she thought it might be a good thing. It meant that her date was taking this seriously.

At the thought of this, Sofia straightened her crinkled dress and followed the smiling waitress into the restaurant.

The man who went on this blind date with her was Frederick Wright. He had arrived a few minutes earlier than her, waiting for her in his seat.

To be honest, when Sofia saw the man, she couldn't help but feel a little disappointed even though she didn't have a high expectation at the beginning.

The guy was not that ugly but his oily and pimpled face indeed made Sofia a bit disgusted. His brad head also showed his age. Although he had deliberately chosen to wear a shirt to look formal, he didn't iron it, which made him looked more embarrassing.

Acknowledged from his info, Sofia knew he was a researcher, so she understood he might not care about his outlook very much. In addition, she believed a man's character was more important than his look.

Thought to this, Sofia managed to suppress the disappointment in her heart. Putting on a smile, then took the seat at the marked table 7, and sit.

"You are Sofia, right?" The man sounded a little nervous as he kept wiping his sweaty palms. "Hello. My name is Frederick, and it's a pleasure to meet you."

As he spoke, he stood up and reached out to shake hands with Sofia.

"It's nice to meet you, Frederick." Sofia shook his hand and felt the sweat on his palm. Although she felt a little awkward, it would be rude of her to pull her hand back immediately. Seconds later, they finished the uncomfortable hand shaking and Sofia secretly wiped her hand under the tablecloth.

"Sofia, I heard you are 26 years old?" Frederick questioned without noticing Sofia's unpleasantness.

He then next flipped open a document on the table and started to study it. "You're not young anymore. If we get married now, you have to give birth to a baby in the short future, otherwise, it would be too late."

Sofia was a bit confused. Obviously, her date was actually looking at her personal information on that paper. It must be given to him by the dating agency.

Although she was the one who provided the information, the way Frederick was criticizing her like she was a commodity stuff made her annoyed a little. She had no interests in arguing, so, she said nothing and agreed with him with a short "yes". Speaking technically, Sofia had lost every interest in this blind dating with this guy.

The ordered dishes were served quickly. They were local food which actually is very to Sofia's liking. Frederick picked up his cutlery and started firstly to dig in. He continued studying Sofia's profile while eating.

Frederick didn't talk to her, so Sofia felt a little embarrassed sitting there and lost her appetite for the food. Just as she was thinking about whether she should take the initiative to start a conversation, she heard several waiters greeting an arriving guest at the doorway behind her.

Sofia turned around with a natural curiosity. When she saw the man who was walking into the restaurant, she couldn't help but stare at him.

Perhaps it was a little inappropriate to use the word "walk" because the man who entered was sitting in a wheelchair.

However, this wasn't the reason why Sofia was stupefied. She was dumbfounded momentarily because of the extraordinary aura of this man.

He was wearing a well-cut yet plain white shirt that fit his tall and slender figure perfectly. Although he was sitting in a wheelchair, people could still tell his perfect proportions. Above his broad shoulders and alluring chest muscle under the cloth, was his breathtakingly handsome face.

He looked charming and his perfect feature was likened to a carefully sculpted work of art; there was not a single flaw to it. His beauty made Sofia dazzling for an instant. Sofia defined herself as someone who was never a face-judger, but she could not help but exclaim for the just entered man's gorgeous outlook.
