"You are not my mate, you can never be, you CURSED WOLF"
Flora's wolf halted on the spot and whimpered at the tone of her mate. She felt hurt hearing the rejection in her mate's tone. Hurt flashed in the beautiful eyes of the white wolf seeing disgust and hate in her mate's eyes for her.
She never in her wildest dream imagined that her mate will be Xavier and he'll react like this after finding out that Flora is his destined mate.
Tears brimmed into the hurtful eyes of Flora's wolf, as she whimpered in pain and yearning. Yearning to be near her mate, for the touch of her mate, for the love of her mate.
A few minutes ago when she was at the party that was thrown to celebrate Xavier's 19th birthday, she didn't think that her life would change completely in a flash of a moment.
Flashback
Today was Xavier's birthday and the pack hall was decorated beautifully and luxuriously. Xavier was the son of the head Alpha of the Black stone pack, he was the next heir to become the Alpha of the pack. The whole pack was gathered in the pack hall to celebrate his birthday.
The party was in full swing as everyone was enjoying it, some were busy talking, some were dancing and some were eating, contrast to all that a girl was sitting on the corner of the hall silently, observing everything awkwardly.
She was wearing a simple knee length floral gown, which was reaching a little below her knee and her long brown hair was securely tied in a ponytail. She was looking absolutely stunning as her beautiful fair skin was shining in contrast to all the lightning present in the hall.
Flora was silently sitting and watching Xavier greeting and interacting with everyone. She doesn't like parties at all and she definitely doesn't fit in crowded places like these, around so many people. She was isolated by the pack members, no one liked her, everyone treated her badly and no one talked to her. She had no one to lean on after her adopted father's death. She was adopted but no one accepted her in this pack except her father and the head Alpha. She was just there because it was Xavier's birthday, hell she had to be there for him, even if he didn't want her there.
Flora knew Xavier hates her now, she knew he hates her for a reason. She would've hated herself too, if she was in his place.
She feels guilty everytime she looks at him. He wasn't always like this with her. Once he was very close to her, he was very protective about her. But growing up when he learned the truth about his mother's death, he became distant and stopped talking to her.
Even though Xavier doesn't treat her nicely now, he doesn't talk to her, but once he was her very dear friend and her only friend.
The party went on and Flora was feeling restless and suffocated, a weird feeling was lingering on the pit of her stomach, making her breathing hard. She was feeling something strange about her body, she wasn't able to understand what was happening to her. In panic she ran out of the pack hall and towards the nearest forest. She thought maybe some fresh air might work, but how wrong she was.
Her body was aching immensely, as she cried in pain, her bones started cracking and she fell on the ground, crying more in pain. Her knee length floral gown got torn into pieces. Suddenly everything stilled and she realised she was standing on all fours in her wolf form.
Only then she realised what was happening to her, she was experiencing her first shift, she had got her wolf. And then everything made sense to her, she realised that today was also her 18th birthday. She never knew her real birthday as she was adopted. Her father always celebrated her birthday on the day he adopted her. Her father was a very kind and loving man, he had never treated her like an adopted daughter, he always loved her like his own.
Flora heard some sound of crunching of leaves a few metres away from her and she looked towards the direction alarmed. It was Xavier. She couldn't believe that it's him, Xavier. How come he was there? He was surrounded by the crowd that were celebrating his birthday, how did he notice her leaving the hall?
The next moment, her eyes met with the beautiful honey coloured eyes of the man standing there looking into her blue ones. The intoxicating scent of rain and forest filled every sense of Flora's wolf and she purred in delight. Her wolf was losing her senses, scenting the delicious scent of her mate. The mouthwatering scent of her mate was making her mind hazy. A rush of energy ran through her whole body just looking into his eyes, she had never felt like this before, looking at him. Mate.
Flora was surprised and happy at the same time. There was no bound to her happiness realising that Xavier is her destined mate. She wanted to get close to her mate, she took a step forward towards him wanting to get closer to him. But the wolf halted on the spot hearing her mate's authoritative voice.
"Stay away from me" Xavier warned Flora in a very dangerous tone.
"Don't you dare to move, don't you dare to come near me" Xavier warned her, seething in anger, his jaw ticking.
Flora's wolf was standing looking towards him with tears in her eyes, as Xavier was standing rooted to his spot looking at her with hate in his eyes.
Her wolf whined in a slow voice, as a lonely tear trailed down from her eye.
"You..... you are cursed" He said, still shocked by what he was seeing.
Flora's wolf's eyes widened a little, fear was consuming her completely, she wasn't able to understand what her mate was saying, she just wanted to be in the safe embrace of her mate, whimpering she again tried to take a step towards Xavier.
His jaw tightened in anger, and his hands clenched in a fist, his mouth ran dry seeing the wolf.
He looked towards her wolf again with burning eyes "You are not my mate, you'll never, you CURSED WOLF"
Flashback end.
Flora's wolf whined and whimpered hearing hurtful words of her mate, tears were streaming down her face, her eyes were showing the pain she was feeling. Every word of Xavier was tearing her heart apart, she could feel her heart shattering into pieces.
"Remember this one thing Flora, a cursed white wolf like you will never be my mate, never and ever."
Flora's whole world crashed into her feet hearing Xavier's words, 'a white wolf like her?' What does he mean? What is he talking about? She couldn't understand what he was saying.
Her wolf slowly looked down, raising her one forefeet forward, and when she saw the colour pure white, her legs got weak and she stumbled back falling on the ground, shifting back to her human form.
She had also heard what they say about the pure white wolf. The shock was too hard for her to maintain her wolf form. She felt scared and was shocked at the same time, she was so caught in the world of fear that she didn't realize that she was fully naked.
Xavier stood there stunned, his eyes darkened with desire and lust, seeing the fully naked body of his mate. The lust was fogging his mind making him unable to think properly. His mouth went dry seeing the intimate parts of her, It was doing things to him that he never felt before for any women. He was on the verge of losing his control over himself.
She looked so fragile and it turned him on more. His wolf grumbled inside him in desire.
Sensing Xavier's eyes trailing all over her naked body, shiver ran down her body. She felt a burning sensation all over her body. She pulled her legs closer to her chest, draping her hands around them, trying to cover her naked body, looking down embarrassingly.
This action of Flora, dragged Xavier out of the fantasies of desire for her, shrugging all the thoughts away and clearing the foggy mind of his head, he took off his coat and threw it to Flora, looking away.
Without thinking anything or any further ado, Flora took the coat and wore it, pulling it tightly against her chest in embarrassment.
A moment later she looked up sadly "W-Will you r-reject me?" She asked in a trembling voice in fear of rejection, tears trailing down her already red eyes.
Xavier's heart ached seeing her so vulnerable, she was trembling, her shoulders were hunched down, her face was as pale as a sheet, eyes wide as saucers, in anticipation. She looked so miserable and it broke his heart. He wasn't able to understand his feelings. He hesitated for a moment, and when he was about to say something, he heard someone approaching.
"Flora is a slut, she is always throwing herself at Xavier" a girl said.
"He is just mine, she'll never be able to seduce him"
It was Ashley, the daughter of his father's beta and her friend, they both were talking about Flora.
Hearing that, Flora whimpered in pain. They always talked about her like that, no one liked her in the whole pack, and they always called her with inappropriate names, she was tired of it all but what could she do.
"Do not tell anyone about it, us, being mates." Xavier warned her again and went toward Ashley.
Ashley saw Xavier coming and she ran towards him clinging to him "where did you go, i was looking for you?"
"I just went for a walk," Xavier explained briefly.
Ashley pressed her body tightly against Xavier, clinging to him more, like her life depended on him and said "let's go, the party is still going on."
And with a final look towards the direction where he had left Flora on her own, Xavier nodded his head and they went back to the hall.
After weeping and crying her heart out, Flora decided to go home and tried to stand up to go from there, her legs were feeling weak and shaky, she was feeling dizzy, with so much difficulty when she finally stood up and was about to leave, she saw someone approaching.
The man was tall and strong. Flora recognized it was Sam, the notorious fuckboy of their school. He even tried to flirt with her a few times but got rejected.
'Look who's here, the nerd Flora! Are you waiting for me, poor sweetie?'
Sam staggered towards Flora. He was drunk, and Flora felt scared, she shuddered in fear. Ignoring him Flora tried to leave from there but the guy had other plans. He grabbed her hand and pinned her against a tree.
"Leaving so soon sweetie!" He mocked her, trailing his nose on the crook of her neck, like a hungry predator. He tried to tear off her coat, touching her bare body.
Flora struggled hard to free herself from the guy, but she was already feeling weak, and dizzy from all the things from earlier. Shifting for the first time makes the human side weak, and adding what had happened with Flora today was not of much help either.
When Flora didn't stop struggling and resisting, Sam slapped her fiercely on her right cheek and she fell back on the ground hardly with a yelp.
She tried to get up but again fell back on the ground, she was feeling too weak to escape and her body was betraying her, her eyes were feeling heavy and she wasn't able to open them. She could feel the darkness enveloping her senses, she was fighting to not lose her consciousness but nothing was working.
Slowly her eyes were closing but before her eyes closed fully, she saw someone running towards her, and heard a very shrill sound of someone screaming before losing her consciousness.
