"Hello mom! " Blair greeted through the phone it was a long proposal of time she had asked her mother to consert her for the information she needed to tell her.
"Yes honey , tell me ..... How is it there ? How are your studies"her mother listed a number of questions.
Blair could feel it in her bones how excited her mother was to hear from her since it had been a while since she lastly called her.
"I'm fine mom...aaah..." before Blair could not finish as her mom interrupted again with a question.
"When are you coming home dear, it's been a while since we last had you for the summer home camping... You know how your grandpa insists of you being here !"
But mom I think I told you that I'll be remaining back for some practical training I booked at some place onlin e"
Why do you insist on that ,we have free WiFi available here .. you can attend your online classes with no interuption ...Blair you don't have to worry about it ..me and your dad have everything planned and under control ... come on love .. " her mother pleaded.
"Mom did I forget to mention practical training...it's practically done and I have to be there you know I want to be a good expert in these technological advancement coming up daily" Blair spoke rolling her eyes hoping her mother would be convinced.
It took a while before her mother said anything back, and Blair did not want to add anything up as she was aware of how her mother was good at suspecting things.
"Okay ! You can stay there .. if you insist on staying but promise me you will call daily ... I don't want to miss you again as this much.
"Don't worry mom I promise not to keep you this emotional-say hi bact to dad and grandpa .love you" she did not mind waiting for a reply from her mom ,hanged up quickly and threw the phone to the table. Her excitement was unexplainable in a way that she jumped up and down several times causing a loud noise that awoke her roommate and best friend Natalie.
"Yoh!what's that noise for?"Natalie asked piping her head out of the blanket and staring hard at Blair with her big brown eyes.
"You can't believe it...I managed to convince my mom for my stay at Alex's place"
"And your mom fell for it?"
" That's why I said I can't believe it...it's so hard to convince these old women ..you know my mom has been brought up from south Africa my grand parents are so much into these norms and taboos...yaaaish!... I hate it going back to Africa"talking while folding her own cloth and forcing them into her backpack she noticed the silence and turned to face Natalie finding her still staring at her , out of words.
"What?" Blair asked.
"I admire the women we are about to become ,girl...damn what a big sorry and apology I have to make for my children"
They laughed loudly together for a while before the sound from the door interfered. The two were in great shock as they allowed the silence to fill the room and wait for another knock . It went on for a while until a big deep voice from outside called.
" Natalie, Blair love.. you don't have to pletend ,its Alex"a male voice announced.
Blair smiled quickly rushing to open the door, Oh there he was the man of her dreams,tall,long black hair tied back with a pony tail dressed in a black leather jacket ,denim jeans and big brown boots . That's his swag he used to dress when coming over to look at Blair. She loved seeing him looking such . They kissed romantically for a while as his hands went down around her thin waist ,tightly holding her soft bottom. She pulled away eagerly wanting to break in her news.
But having a look at those Hazel eyes,all her thoughts were ready lost . She could not believe she was going to spend a lifetime moment of a month over at his place , cerebrating his birthday together with him and friends what a great fun that would really be.
"What's with that look, love?he asked touching her lips.
"What's happening to you?"she questioned back.
"Your putting a freak on me- enough of your games again?"
"Your becoming more handsome day to day and My oh! My... I'm really falling deep for you"she leaned over to kiss him on his lips."come on in! We were waiting for you!"
She hooked hands with him as they went inside . Natalie was preparing quick breakfast ,a toast and hot milk as she smiled seeing the two "look at this girl... How romantic you really look the two of you " Natalie spoke giving a wink at Blair.
"Hi Natalie" Alex said with a quick wave.
"We dont have much time , we need to make our plans for the big event coming up ahead of us ... I want it to be historical.. you know the shit I'm talking about" Blair said having a seat with a pen and paper in her hands.
" Look at you acting considerate.... For your boyfriend" Natalie said jokingly seating next to her .
Alex only said nothing but only admiring his girlfriend, she was always there for him no matter what and he just wondered how he was going to pay her for her kind heart . All she ever wanted was for them to be happy in a way she sacrificed alot of things for his sake.
"We have the cake, drinks and champagne ready in store "Blair wrote down a tick on some of the things they had collected alreatfrom the supermarket the previous day.
"Damn! You guys are so quick on this ... It's my birthday guys .." Alex said smiling and his hands covering his mouth in shock.
"Well thank your girlfriend here ..she is trying to save her prince charming who won't marry her " Natalie joked . She bursted into laughter but got no support on it back from the two people she had next to her.
"Natalie!.."Blair called angrily poking her on the shoulder" what kind of joke is that? It ain't laughable at all"
She lamented.
"Oh come on guys.. don't mind me .. it's just a joke " Natalie explained her face about to explode again with laughter.
Natalie dropped the pen angrily and pushed Natalie bypassing her and heading outside through the back door. Natalie followed behind calling.
"Hey! Why you mad ?" She asked.
"Fuck you Natalie!"Blair abused pushing her on her chest .
"What kind of joke is that ? You know how much I love him .. how could you say that"
"Girl! Me and you understand completely that this love won't get anywhere... Look at him .. after we graduate the two of you won't get to see one another again and still I get blamed for talking the truth.."
"Oh come on Natalie! I have been into many relationship and I still feel it that this one is real.. I can feel it in my bones"
"I Know love,bee... It can fool you .. I just care for you girl ...you and I .."
"Cut the shit out ...I don't want to listen your nonsense... If you don't trust in love well I do... I do because I have him-Alex "Blair explained avoiding her tears from falling out.
The door opened and Alex appeared. "Is everything okay?" He asked.Natalie looked at Blair and noticed how much her words upset her best friend . The two had been into fights but she had went to far in this joking her this bad she could feel her soul lamenting inside how rude that was.
"Come on babe! We are getting out of here" Blair told Alex getting inside and heading straight to her room and packing her stuff. They were about to graduate the next year and she would be free to own her own apartment before her parents want her to go on crazy safari in Africa, her motherland. The door slammed open and Natalie came in
"What are you doing? Why are you packing?"she asked after noticing Blair taking her clothing from the wardrobe.
"Can't you see! - am leaving"
"For real?"
"Yes for real.. if your my best friend you can't have the git of saying such shit Infront of my boyfriend " Blair complained.
"Oh God! We are still complaining of what happened earlier. Look bee, it was only a joke ...am sorry okay "
" Go tell yo mama sorry because I don't want to talk anymore with you ... Either having anything to do with you"
Natalie was shocked in a way she had nothing else to say. She moved aside letting her friend leave , Blair didn't want to look back at Natalie neither remember alot of shit they had done since highschool to date in college . Only a man from nowhere named Alex who she's been with for almost a year and a half comes in and since then it has always been him. She fell on her bed listening to them leaving the house mumbling and laughing.
She woke up , sitting straight and looking outside via the window. Her Friend going to a stranger's house and forgetting her her heart ached. She moved back to the living room and went straight to the fridge, pulling out a cold wine .
She turned the music on pouring herself a drink and drinking while thinking of it all. She knew Blair she would never mind her jokes but why so much quickly she turned a back against her. In a minute she was ready drunk, very early in the morning. She moved to the living room staring at the photos of them in every mood of zillion moments they had together. Staring at them and thinking of Alex taking over her position stirred the anger burning within her.
She pulled them off making some tear up badly.
"Fuck that bitch!"she screamed . Her body falling on the floor like a bag of stones her screams of pain hurt she just couldn't believe it.she cried for a while until when sleep took her away from the pain .
