Roxy
I placed my left arm on the counter and the other, under my chin.
I stared at Kyle who was laughing away with his friends while I stayed behind, watching them.
He's just so perfect, from his glorious smile to his hot body.
He had his black hair in a swoosh and his emerald eyes that suited it just fine.
His face was so damn 'drop dead'.
I wished a time would come when we just are more than just besties.
But he's my bestie, mine...
And now he's to be shared with Melissa...speaking of the devil...
Just then Melissa and the rest of her flowers squad trooped in Lily, Vivian, and Tina, all chewing and popping gums.
"Hey, Kyle," Melissa said kissing Kyle on his cheeks, obviously to get me upset.
"Roxy" she called me in a knowing voice.
"Yh?" I replied, removing my arm off the counter.
"Why not join us," she said.
"I'll pass," I said picking up a magazine beside me.
She shrugged and sat beside Kyle.
"Roxy, common you'll miss all the fun," Kyle said snatching my arm.
"But I..." I said completely off guard.
"I insist," he said and brought me to where they all sat.
Kyle sat beside Melissa and I looked around for an empty seat and saw one beside Ford, so I sat there.
"Just know that you two shouldn't do anything naughty," Kyle said.
"She's not your girlfriend, your girlfriend is right beside you," Ford said.
"Just saying," Kyle said glaring at him.
"Here comes the nerdy, nerd," Tina said gesturing to Chloe.
"She's not a nerd," I said.
"But she has a nerd for a friend" Lily concluded and the flowers squad laughed.
I walked out angrily and met Chloe looking around.
"Hey, Roxy" Chloe mumbled.
"First time in the hang-out zone, eh?" I asked and she nodded.
"We'll go somewhere quiet where the flowers squad wouldn't find us," I said and she nodded again.
As soon as we reached the veranda, she stopped me.
"Do you like Kyle?" She asked out of the blue.
"Uhmmm...me...Kyle...what are you saying...Kyle's my best friend, that's all" I stammered.
"Just curious," she said taking her glasses off and beginning cleaning her eyes.
Phewwww...
"You've done your homework right?" I asked.
Before she could say anything, someone piped in.
Melissa...
"Homeworks," she asked sarcastically and laughed.
"They're for dorks," Vivian said.
"And nerds" added Lily.
"Like who cares about homework?" Tina asked and they all laughed again.
"Are you done?" I asked after their laughter had died down.
"You don't have to get all mad about it," Melissa said sarcastically.
"You might wanna take your leave now," I said.
"Ohh is lil' Roxy probably frightened," she said sarcastically.
"You don't have to tease her all the time," a familiar voice said.
That should be Kyle...
Instead, it was Ford...like what the heck!!!
"Ford this is none of your business, so stay clear" Melissa fired.
"Melissa can you hear yourself," Mark said.
"She thinks she's some special goddess and can have all the boy's attention every time" Melissa continued.
"That's a unique description of yourself," I said with a smirk.
"Urgghh...wait till I get my hands on you, I'll rip every flesh in you," she growled.
Kyle
Well, it's been 20 minutes since Roxy and the rest left.
I'm sure there is a commotion on the veranda.
I quickly rushed up there to meet Roxy getting scolded by Melissa.
"Alright that's enough," I said pulling Roxy away.
"You don't have to be on her side every time" Melissa yelled.
"Well, that doesn't give you to right to hurt her!" I yelled.
"It's time we go home," I said pulling Roxy by her hand.
Chloe trailed behind us and when we got to my Bugatti vehicle, we got in and I hit the road.
The drive was silent until I pulled up in front of Chloe's home and she got out after waving at Roxy.
"Kyle" Roxy called.
"Eh?" I answered.
"Are you mad at me?" she asked.
Yeah, I was pissed off.
"Sorta," I said swerving the vehicle to its right.
"I'm sorry, Melissa got me upset," she said.
"It's alright," I said patting her head with my left hand, as I handled the steering wheel with my right hand.
"It's nearly past curfew, and mum's gonna be mad at me" she groaned.
"Not when I'm with you," I said grinning, as I patted her head again.
"I'm hungry though, I want Ice-cream," she said.
"It's past 8, there's no way they'd be an Ice-cream truck..." I said.
"Hey, look there, an Ice-cream truck," she said grinning.
"Roxy," I said, as I swerved the car to the Ice-cream truck.
I pulled up in front of it and walked up to it and bought Ice lollies for Roxy.
"Aww, it's strawberry flavored," she said, tearing off its wrapper.
"Now we'd set for home," I said and hit the road once again.
I pulled up in front of her house and I rang the doorbell.
"Are you insane?" she asked hitting me on my shoulder.
"Why'd you ask?" I said snatching her arm.
"I could have snuck in through the basement window rather than standing in front here and Mom and Dad would find out I missed curfew...yakity yak, yak, yak, yak" she continued.
"Who's there" The eight-year Tracey's voice pouted through the door.
"Uhmm, it's Roxy," Roxy said.
"Don't you mean Roxanne?" Stacey's voice chimed in.
"It's still the same, just open up," Roxy said.
"Admit you're Roxanne," Stacey said.
"I'm Roxanne," Roxy said.
"I'm pretty sure it's E-r-o-z-ei-n," Tracey said.
"I'll just go through the basement window," Roxy said.
"Uh-uh-uh," Stacey said.
"Bad news, it's locked," Tracey said.
"And besides you're an hour late for curfew," Stacey said.
"Girls come on open up," Roxy said hitting the door slightly.
"Stacey" I called but instead I heard giggles.
"Tracey, open up," Roxy said frustrated.
"Stacey wouldn't let me" she replied.
"Let's make a deal," Roxy said.
"A deal huh?" Stacey said poking her face in the door's peephole.
"What kind of deal?" Tracey asked.
"Deal makings are only for the second eldest," Stacey said.
"But we're twins," Tracey said.
"Uh-uh-uh, I'm eldest by 3 minutes," Stacey said.
"Urghh common Stacey" Tracey said.
"I'll give you all my desserts for a week," Roxy said.
"Plus, free Ice-cream for a week," I added.
"Deal!" Tracey yelled.
"Hey!" Stacey yelled.
Tracey opened the door and Roxy got in.
"Where's Mom and Dad?" she asked.
"They're on a business trip," Tracey said.
"They didn't tell me," Roxy said.
"They never tell you anything," Stacey said and picked up her blue teddy and walked away.
"Good night," Roxy said and hugged me.
"Good night," I said patting her head.
"Urghhh" Stacey groaned and Tracey giggled.
