I woke up earlier than usual today was a special day at the palace the prince was coming back which means our workload would increase today we had to make preparation for the party upon his arrival I woke up before other maids to start my own share of the work I didn't have any friends at the palace because most of the girls didn't like me others said I was pompous because I was more beautiful than they are other people think I have a problem associating with people but that's not true when i first came to the palace they all gave me attitude no one wanted to talk to me most especially Anna she was our chief maid and she is always complaining about any work I did but then I got used to them and try to stay away from them,this was not the right time to think of things that happened in the past I sighed this was time to start the day works if only I had a friend here we would have worked together And finish our work on time .I got out of bed and had a quick bath and dressed up quickly and then went to the kitchen to prepare the princess breakfast and then went ahead to clean the hall .********************* MAX POv
I just couldn't believe am returning to my country Nigeria leaving all my friends behind I came back with my best man Rico we've been friends since we were children we virtually did everything together we were more like brothers than friends.the plane landed and we all came down from the plane the palace convoy was already waiting on our arrival within an hour we were already at the palace gate we went inside to meet everyone they were all excited I ran into my father's open arms my mom had tears in her eyes it been five years since we last saw each other my younger sister ivy was already a grown woman I missed them so much and we had our moments mum asked us to go freshen up and then come down to eat our food and then rest for sometime before the party we went up to my room to rest after about three hours mum came to call us to get ready for the party Rico and I got ready and went down for the party they were many personality there since Dad was an influential man we took our time to view the whole place it was an amazing party the curtains were beautiful and there were beautiful and sexy lady's most of them were princessess while other were probably one of the politicians daughters mum introduced me to a lot of lady's I got to meet princess Kira have heard about her from mum she was her best friend's daughter she has always wanted me to meet her so we could be friends and probably make an alliance between the two kingdom she was quite probably one of the most beautiful girl at the party after talking for what seemed like few minutes I went over to my man Rico who was already dancing with lady go get your self a lady to dance with he said all smiles just as I was about going to meet princess Kira for a dance someone bumped into me with a bowl of soup spilling it all over my expensive clothes I looked so funny and everyone began to laugh I had expected her to get down on her knees to apologise but instead she laughed with others and it infuriated me the more who the hell are you I asked almost at the top of my voice am sorry Sir it was a mistake she said bowing her head I said who the hell are you and what are you doing here am a maid here my prince well clumsy people like you should not be allowed to work hear just get out of this place he shouted at the top of his voice before leaving the party hall she could hear people laughing and calling her names as she left the hall in tears when she got to the maids quarters to clean her dress Anna came in,and what was the meaning of what you did out there Melinda couldn't you watch were you were heading to did you have to ruin the party because of your clumsy and proud character look Melinda if you don't take your work seriously am afraid I'd have to complain to the queen about you and you know what that means you'd automatically loose your job here,am sorry I said looking down ,you better be she said as she walked out of the room angrily after the party was over we did the cleaning and everyone retired for the night the next . The next day I was busy with my normal chores when a message from the queen asking me to see her immediately came to me I knew it was about what happened last night so immediately I went to her Chambers I went down on my knees to apologise she told me . Ishe understood it was a mistake and that was not the reason she called me "my dear there are going to be little changes in your work from now on you see the prince wants you to work as his personal maid we suggested Anna but he refused so from now on you are no longer serving Ivy you'd be serving Max so you better render your best services"she concluded and that was the beginning of my ordeal with the prince
