Chapter 1

Dressed in a white off-shoulder floral dress, June walked barefoot in the middle of a garden of daisies swaying her hands in her sides and feeling the cold breeze. She was in dazed looking at how aesthetically landscaped her surroundings are while the butterflies started slowly dancing with her to a music she never heard before. She came across a pond where she started at herself in the water, she was astounded seeing her face with a beautiful smile and twinkling eyes.

"What is going on with me? I am so happy. Where am I?" She said confused of her whole being.

She found herself in a place she never imagined to be. The place was covered with fog, tall trees, and everything that satisfies her eyes. She scanned the place looking for people to ask and tell that she's lost yet found no one. June felt alone and longed for her home.

"This is my dream place." She uttered. "Everything in here is perfect... the daisies, the cotton candy-like clouds, the green trees, and these butterflies. But, this is not home. It's does not feel like home."

She raised her hands upwards and her heart thumped when a beautiful blue butterfly landed on her hand gracefully flapping its wings.

"Hey, little one. Do you know where I am?" She talked to the butterfly in a small voice but didn't receive a respond. She found herself smiling wider thinking that people would find her crazy in her situation. Am I high? Or what? She touched her right cheeks and she felt her tears escaped from her eyes.

"This is a place...no...that's not going to happen," she said.

“Am I..." she stopped and tried to remember what she was doing. "dead?"

The thought of herself dead made heart beat faster like she had gone to a thousand meters race. Fear crept her insides as she remembers herself in a car calling out to God and her visions to turn black.

"Did I died after that accident? But, I don't know." This is not what I've read from the Bible nor from the books. "Where are the angels? Where am I?"

She repeatedly asked the same questions hoping that someone would give her answers.

If I'm in heaven or hell right now, I'm not supposed to feel fear nor longing. If I'm in heaven, I should have seen the angels by now. If I'm in a good place, maybe, my tears would not have fallen from my eyes earlier. Where am I? How can I find my way back home?

"Maybe, I'm just dreaming. It's just a dream, June. You need to wake up. You need to open your eyes." How? Feeling anxious and wanting to escape from the perfect place she is in. June started running back hoping that she will wake up. She began to run as her feet gave up on the same place where she was in the beginning.

"This is useless. I don't know where I'm going. I keep on coming back. I'm tired. I want to go home."

She laid on the ground and looked at the clouds while her heart was beating erratically. She raised her left hand above her eyes to cover the brightness that the sun shone on her.

"God..." she murmured and started sobbing silently. "I'm not going someone...anywhere... please take me home. I miss my mom. I miss my little brother. I'm not ready to die yet."

She cried until while praying until she heard an unfamiliar man's voice.

"Hey, June. I'm Aaron, I'm your mom's boyfriend. You should wake up. Your mom missed you so much. I want to take care of you and Flynn. I want to marry your mom. I promise to be a good father to you." B-boyfriend? Puzzled and alarmed, June stood up and followed the man's voice. She walked and found a light that seemed to be a door.

"Hey, love" a sweet voice of a woman replaced the man's voice covering the place with her back from the light that enticed her. "You've been enjoying your vacation wherever you are right now. I miss you so much. Flynn misses you too, everyone misses you so much. It's been 323 days since you leave, love. Come back."

"Mom..." she murmured while looking for a way. "I don't know where I am. Please, help me. Save me, mommy. Take me out of this place. I... I miss you t-too."

"June..." she heard her little brother sob. "Come home. Mom is being stubborn. She is always here with you and she also skip her meals."

Tears continuously fall from her eyes while she listen to her brother. She felt her heart clenched in frustration.

“I hope you’re doing good wherever you are, sis. W-we missed you so much.” She heard her little brother’s voice broke in pain as he continue to tell her what she missed and how much they missed her.

June kneeled down losing all her energy to stand and run around the place. Where’s the door? Where’s the path? Where am I?

Please....p-please help me.

She begged while wiping her tears and sobbing her heart out. I need to go home...my mom and my little brother needs me. I need them.

God, please.

Please...

Please...

Please...

I need you right now. God please...help me please.

She closed her eyes and prayed to God.

Please give me another chance to live.

“June,” she heard her father’s voice.

“Papa...” she looked around trying to find her father.

“Papa, please help me. I need to go back to Mama and Flynn. Papa, please. Please, papa. They need me, papa. Papa...please, I missed you but they need me.” She called out.

“I know, love. Take care of them, I love you all.”

She then heard her father humming making her sleepy but she fought the urge to sleep and continued to pray to God.

“Breathe, love.”
