Chapter 1

A red car pulled to a stop in front of the shopping mall, and a 24-year-old young lady named Cindy Williams stepped out of the car, shutting the door behind her before walking up to the shopping boutique in front of her.

Cindy clicked her red high-heeled shoes as she walked on the cemented ground, moving quickly toward the female shopping boutique to buy an outfit for her best friend's birthday party.

With the sun burning brightly on her beautiful yellow skin, Cindy frowned as she realized she had forgotten her umbrella in the car and couldn't walk back to retrieve it.

Cindy sighed as she finally entered the shopping mall. "Phew!" she exhaled.

She took out her handkerchief from her red purse and wiped the sweat from her forehead before returning the handkerchief to her purse, glancing around the shopping boutique.

Cindy was wearing a long white gown that hugged her body and accentuated her feminine shape.

She attracted a lot of attention, as she was the epitome of beauty.

Zipping up her red purse, Cindy looked around inside the shop, and a saleswoman finally approached her.

"Welcome, ma'am. What would you like to buy today?" the saleswoman asked.

"Let me see the types of dresses you have for birthday parties," Cindy requested.

"Okay, madam. This way, please," the saleswoman ushered Cindy to display the range of dresses available.

Cindy followed the saleswoman slowly, glancing at the samples of clothes and the other women shopping in the boutique.

Cindy didn't touch any of the gowns; she only stared at them and walked past with an expressionless face.

The saleswoman showed Cindy a collection of gowns, then stopped and asked, "Which length of gown do you prefer, madam—long or short?"

Cindy looked around again and replied, "I don't know. What do you think would fit me? I mostly love to wear white."

The saleswoman gulped and replied with a smile, "I don't know, madam, but this white gown you're wearing really looks pretty on you. Would you prefer another cute white gown like this—maybe longer or shorter?"

Cindy exhaled. "Hmm. White is my favorite color, but I'm thinking of something different, like blue, yellow, or green gowns. What do you think?"

The saleswoman replied, "Let me check..."

Cindy stood aside as she watched the young lady check different types of gowns—yellow, blue, red, and green. However, none of the gowns seemed to interest Cindy.

Cindy frowned, not liking any of the gowns the saleswoman displayed.

Not wanting to leave the shopping boutique rudely, Cindy realized she was wasting the saleswoman's time and finally asked, "Do you have any white suits? I love white suits too. Let me see the white suits you have. The party is tomorrow, and I need to look fresh."

"Okay," the saleswoman replied. One thing Madam had trained her in was to satisfy customers with whatever they requested to see, no matter how many clothes they might reject.

"Can you wait here for me, madam? Let me go and bring the white suits. Or would you like to follow me to see them and try them on?" the saleswoman asked.

"Okay, I'll follow you," Cindy replied and followed the saleswoman.

They walked to another section of clothes, and Cindy's eyes fell on a beautiful white suit on a mannequin.

Cindy loved the golden collar design of the white suit coat, which had only two front buttons and a pencil-shaped trouser beneath.

"Wow!" gasped another lady who stood beside the white suit, admiring it as she negotiated the price with another saleswoman.

Cindy instantly fell in love with the white suit and wasted no time pointing to it, saying to the saleswoman attending her, "I want that suit! Package it for me—I want it and I'm leaving."

The lady who had initially wanted to buy the suit glanced at Cindy irritably, wanting to buy the suit too.

But the price was quite steep—$10,000 for the suit.

Seeing Cindy's arrogance made the lady grimace as she turned back to the saleswoman.

The lady asked, "Do you have another white suit? I want to buy this one, but the price is just too high!"

"No, ma'am. This is the last piece left. Are you purchasing it now or not? We have another customer ready to buy," the saleswoman kindly explained, which didn't sit well with the brunette woman.

The lady’s eyes narrowed at Cindy in anger. She opened her purse and calculated all the money she had available, including her debit card balance on her phone. But it wasn't enough to buy the beautiful white suit.

Cindy turned to the saleswoman and asked, "What's going on here? What's taking you so long to package this suit for me? I want to leave! Don’t you want to sell it to me?"

"No, madam, please wait. This lady here actually wanted to buy the suit first before you expressed your interest," the saleswoman kindly explained.

Cindy's eyes finally met the young lady's gaze, but Cindy looked away and said, "Then I'm out of here! I can't keep standing here, waiting for you to finish. Do you know who I am?"

The lady, unable to afford the suit, looked at Cindy with disdain, irritated by her arrogant demeanor.

She snapped back at Cindy, "Who are you, anyway? Just because you're rich, do you think you can oppress others? Do you even know who I am?"

Cindy's jaw dropped as she looked at the lady but didn't respond. She noticed that the lady appeared slightly older than her.

Cindy shifted her gaze back to the saleswoman and said, "Since I've wasted so much of your time here today, I will give you only ten seconds to arrange this suit for me. Or else I will leave and find it elsewhere. But before that, let me see the jewelry you have."

The lady hissed loudly as Cindy ignored her. She was aware that her money wasn't enough to buy the expensive white suit.

The lady then pleaded with the saleswoman, "Can I deposit some money for this white suit? I’ll come back later to pick it up and complete the payment."

"I'm sorry, madam, but credit isn't allowed here, and advance payment isn't accepted either," replied the saleswoman.

"Why? Is it because of that arrogant lady that you don't want to sell this beautiful white suit to me?" the lady inquired.

"No, madam. Why wouldn't I sell it to you if my boss allowed credit or advance payment? You can check outside at our banner. It’s clearly written at the entrance door: NO CREDIT ALLOWED HERE," the saleswoman kindly explained.

"Hmm... Alright. I guess I'll come back some other time to purchase it. You could still talk to your boss about it and see if another suit like this—same design and size—is available. I'll be back."

"Okay, madam. I will inform my boss about it," the second saleswoman said while Cindy returned and asked, "Is my suit ready or not?"

The lady customer hissed and angrily walked away, subtly pushing Cindy aside as she exited the shopping boutique.

Cindy was startled but sighed and finally turned back to the two saleswomen, asking, "How much are all the items I've bought here—the shoes, necklace, diamond earrings, bangles, and this suit?"

The initial saleswoman punched in the codes on her calculator and calculated the total of Cindy's purchases. "That's $50,000."

"Hmm, no discount?" Cindy asked as she took out her debit card to pay for the items.

"No, madam. That's the fixed price," the saleswoman replied with a smile.

"Alright, package all of it; I want to leave," Cindy said, and the saleslady immediately packaged everything in a white plastic bag and handed it to Cindy.

Cindy finally collected the bag and walked out of the shopping boutique, heading to her car.
