Chapter 1

*Authors note*

Hello guys, nice to meet you all, this is my first book on novelcat and I hope you enjoy it. This book is not going to be about a typical CEO/boss and a damsel in distress in the way you might think. I want to bring in something with a bit of reality and fantasy, I hope you have fun reading. Don't forget to comment on your ideas, it will go a long way. THANKS"

***********

It's early in the evening, the streets are noisy from the traffic and the cold wind blows smoothly and brushes the skin. Theresa walks on the sidewalk enjoying the wind in her face, after almost two years of confinement she can walk and breathe like a normal person again. She walks for a while, she stops at a restaurant.

*LENA's* the sign reads and she enters.

"Good evening miss," she greets a waitress at the door with her soft voice

"Good evening, ma'am, do you have a reservation?" the beautiful waitress replies and asks politely.

"Yeah, Mr. Andrews table please," she says and the woman nods at her

"This way, ma'am," the woman said leading her to a table in a corner by the window. "Here we are," the waitress says and Theresa looks over to see a handsome man smile at her.

"Welcome back," he says as he gets up to give her a hug

"Thanks, Leo" Thersa says returning the hug and they exchange a kiss on the cheek. She sits down and the waitress holds up a menu in front of her.

"What would you like to order miss?" She says handing the menu to Theresa,

She takes it and searches for what she wants to eat but she doesn't feel hungry. So she shrugs.

"I'll have a salad. and some juice" she says and looks over at the man called Leo.

"I already ordered," he said with a smile.

"Ok," she nods at him and hands the menu back to the waitress who receives it and leaves them to get the food.

"Did I hear that correctly? you are having a salad only? I thought your brain was messed up not your stomach" the man called Leo teased.

Theresa rolls her eyes at him and says "I just don't feel hungry, okay, calm down" she doesn't blame him though, she is a foodie, well at least she was before the accident but now everything just tastes the same to her and she doesn't have an appetite lately.

"So, how have you been? Did you and Sindy finally get married?" She asks with expectant eyes

"No," he says taking a sip from the glass of wine on the table. "We were not making progress and we didn't want to hurt each other, so we called off the engagement"

"So sad, and here I thought I might already be a godmother," she says jokingly.

"Yeah, dream on," he says. "I am sorry for not being able to come to see for so long," he says with a guilty look

"It's okay," comforts him. Six months ago when she got out of the hospital, she has been trying to put her life back together piece by piece, she even started working a month after just to keep herself busy until this after in her office when a strange number called her, she doesn't usually pick up unidentified callers but she was glad she picked up this one, it was Leonard Andrews her childhood friend who invited her for dinner.

They talked for a while until their food was served. They ate and continued to chat about the old days.

"She has changed so much," Leo thinks. "She used to be a foodie and a talker, but now I'm the one doing pretty much all the talking, but it's okay as far as she is safe and sound. She'll come back to herself in no time" he smiles inwardly.

Noticing his absent-mindedness Theresa waves her hand to his face, "Are you okay" she asks and he smiles and nods to her.
