Chapter 1

"Read the settlement. Sign it if you have no questions."

In front of Elena Taylor was a divorce settlement.

That handsome and tall man was her husband, Ryan Wilson. They hadn't seen each other for three years. Elena had just come home from abroad, but she had foreseen this divorce settlement coming.

To be with his first love, Isabella Green, Ryan had sent Elena abroad with the excuse of her further study three years ago. Since Isabella wanted to be Mrs. Wilson now, Ryan proposed a divorce.

It seemed Ryan could give up everything for Isabella.

Elena was still in shock, so Ryan said in a low voice, "Don't worry. After the divorce, I will pay the medical bills for your mother as before."

The mention of her mother's illness saddened Elena.

Now, she had no right to say no.

Had it not been for her ailing mother, she would never have entered into this contract marriage with Ryan three years ago.

After a deep breath, Elena picked up the settlement from the table and read it carefully. Ryan was generous as he gifted Elena five million dollars and a villa.

After all, having grown up together since childhood, Ryan never mistreated Elena apart from matters of love and marriage.

While Elena focused on the settlement, Ryan stared at her. She was more silent than she was three years ago.

Annoyed, he pulled the tie around his neck.

"Okay." Elena managed to suppress her grief. She lifted her head, gazed at Ryan, and struggled to maintain a faint smile.

Without hesitation, she signed her name on the divorce settlement.

"Here you are." She handed it to Ryan.

Ryan didn't accept the papers. Instead, he gazed at Elena with his thin lips slightly pursed, and his eyes were filled with complex emotions.

"Mr. Wilson?"

Ryan came back to his senses. He took the pen and then the papers from Elena.

Before signing the papers, he paused suddenly.

He looked up at Elena and asked, "Is there anything else you want? I will try my best to satisfy you."

"No, I owe you a lot. I'll find a way to repay you the medical expenses," Elena said softly.

Suddenly, Ryan felt that his heart ached, and this experience was new to him. He threw the pen away irritably and pushed the papers aside.

"You don't have to repay me. She's my mother-in-law."

Elena shifted her gaze from Ryan to the papers pushed away, and an absurd idea occurred to her.

Could it be that he... found it hard to go through with the divorce too?

However, Ryan's cold voice instantly sounded. "Do you have time to see Bella tomorrow? She wants to talk with you face to face."

Elena's last bit of hope was shattered. With a gentle nod, she said, "No problem."

"If she asks whether you have found your true love, tell a lie to ease her guilt," Ryan said.

Elena's heart ached. Why did she have to lie? He was her love.

Suppressing the bitterness in her heart, she said with a poker face, "Okay."

"You should tell her that your future will be bright because I don't want her to feel guilty."

"Okay."

"You should..." Ryan paused abruptly.

There was obvious impatience and irritation on his face.

Elena looked at him with confusion. Why did he look unhappy? Didn't she accept all the conditions he mentioned?

"Forget it." Ryan pinched the space between his eyebrows and said blandly, "That's all."

Elena nodded without any hesitation. "Goodbye then. I'll be staying at my mother's place." Since the divorce was imminent, she wouldn't stay here, or Bella would misunderstand her again.

"Wait," Ryan said. "You stay here. This villa belongs to you now."

After the shock, Elena said with a smile, "Bella may not be pleased if she finds out about this."

The mention of Bella brought a flash of fatigue to Ryan's eyes.

"Take a shower and go to bed," Ryan said stoically, concealing his emotions.

Elena accepted this arrangement because she was tired. She stood up and said, "Okay."

Then, she walked to her bedroom.

"Wait," Ryan interjected, "The shower in your room isn't working, so use mine instead."

Elena raised her head, and there was a look of surprise in her beautiful eyes.

Her heart started racing, but she smiled self-mockingly at the sight of Ryan's cold expression.

What nonsense was she thinking about? She always made a fool of herself.

All he cared about was Bella. Never had he paid a bit of attention to her.

As Elena made her way up the stairs, she reminded herself to remain composed. She waited until she had calmed down before pushing open the door to Ryan's bedroom.

This was her second visit to this room.

On her wedding night with Ryan, they had spent one night together in this room.

Back then, Ryan slept on the sofa while she slept on the bed.

In the bedroom, Elena began to take off her clothes. Right then, what her mother had said in the hospital today flashed back to her.

"I have a feeling he's going to suggest a divorce this time. He's too focused on Bella to notice how you're feeling."

Elena didn't mind that Ryan didn't pick up on her feelings of sadness.

She knew from the very beginning that this marriage was just a deal.

Three years ago, her father committed suicide, and her mother was seriously ill. When she was helpless with despair, Ryan came to her...

"Do you know how to use the shower?"

A cold voice coming from behind startled Elena.

Suddenly, Elena felt an instinctual urge to turn around. Her hands were trembling so much that the clothes she was holding slipped from her grasp and fell to the ground.

As a result, her stunning and alluring figure was exposed in front of Ryan.

They gazed at one another, and the air between them became charged with an electric tension.

Ryan's eyes roamed over her curves, taking in every inch of her body.

Her sexy body proved to be a fatal temptation for him, causing him to lose all sense of self-control.

Then he grabbed her face delicately and held it in his hands before kissing her.

He was fully hard now, took one of her hands, and placed it on his engorged dick.

At the thought of the coming separation, Elena became enthusiastic. The desire in his eyes sparked a fire within her.

She rubbed his dick through his pants for a second before going for his belt. She struggled with the clasp because she was inexperienced, a virgin.

"Are you sure?" Ryan asked softly, his voice slightly out of breath. "Our divorce agreement won't change because of one night of sex."

Elena locked eyes with Ryan, their gazes meeting, and his lack of affection was never concealed. Three years had passed, and she had flawlessly played the part of his submissive wife. He wanted her to go abroad, so she did.

Now, she wanted to be willful for once.

"Kiss me," Elena heard herself say firmly.
