Chapter one – Give Me A Child
The man’s lower body thrust up and down into her body, as if completing a commanded task assigned by the president. His eyes were nothing but blank with no affection whatsoever. It even seemed like he was trying to control the physical affection as well. Alicia tightly sealed her lips trying not make a sound, she bit down her lower lip. Her hands gripped the sides of the bedsheet as she didn’t want him to see that she was getting affected by what was doing.
But they say, actions speak louder than words, with the man’s movement quickening, the breaths grew louder. The man tried all his might to suppress the sounds coming from his breath but it wasn’t in his hands to control his bodily feelings. Ramon frowned and his strength grew stronger, he was getting into climax.
And so, his hands gripped her waist and pulled it towards him giving her one last thrust. As to whether Roslyn was satisfied or not, he didn’t care as he wanted to be done with it as soon as possible.
His body laid weakly on her and he looked in her way, their eyes met and she didn’t want to miss that opportunity. But at that time, his phone rings and it shakes along with her heart. She knew it was ending there as the light from the screen illuminated his face, she could now see how distant and cold it was.
Alicia knew the sound of the ringtone and subconsciously, she wanted to stop him from picking up and so, she stretched her hand and held his arm and then said to him,
Could you not please answer the call?
His body froze for a moment yet, he stood up and shook her body off him. She felt the sudden emptiness made her feel like she had been left alone in a pit of darkness. He got out of the bed naked and he didn’t answer the call in front of her. But not because he respected her words but because he wanted to stable his breath before speaking to Sarah.
But he realized he couldn’t do that before the phone call ended and so, he didn’t walk into the bathroom before texting her,
‘I will be there in no time.’
Alicia sat up and switched on the lights in the room. She looked at the back of Ramon as he entered the washroom with a feeling hurt emotions in her heart as if she was slowly losing it. After several years, it seemed she hadn’t done enough, in the man’s heart, there was always Sarah.
Her heart was going scatters but she sneered and tried to get rid of the hurt feelings. She looked at the drawer beside the bed and reached out and opened it. Her hand searched for a bottle but then it touched pieces of papers.
Instinctively, she knew they were her marriage certificate three years back. She looked in it way and saw that the edges had wrinkled due to the number of times she had unfolded and folded them. She had kept them as treasured items both in her heart and in her hands, seeing them, her eyes became teary and she sniffed and dried her eyes with the back of her hands. And she pushed them deeper into the drawer.
Alicia took out a white bottle and poured a tablet into her hand. She was just about to put it into her mouth when she heard a roar in front of her. She didn’t have to look back to know where and who it came from. She didn’t expect him to come back that quickly from the bathroom.
Ramon was naked in his upper body and only had a towel tied around his waist. She guessed he had entered to pick his clothes, but it wasn’t time for guesses but to face the music. His glare towards her was cold and she felt a chill in her spine. The rooms temperature lowers and his entire body seemed enveloped by a frightening chill and the words that came from his lips were,
“Which medicine are you taking?”
Her hand quivered and the pill fall out of her hand and fell to the bed. She didn’t have to look at him to know that he was angry, whatever pill she would say it was, he won’t believe.
He was suspicious, before she could do anything, he was already holding her hand. He grabbed the bottle of medicine from her hand. Anything that she had to say choked in her throat and it felt painful because her heart was beating faster.
She felt it hard to breath and so, she opened her lips to be able to steal some air. She stared at him with fear drawn all over her body. Ramon could conclude that it wasn’t a good one just by looking at her expression.
But he still read on the bottle, his brows furrowed and he glanced at her, his eyes darted back at the bottle once again. He found it unbelievable as he read the words on the bottle when he was sure that he had read the right words, he glared at Alicia.
His hand clutched her hand and he squeezed it but it was as if her soul had left her. Now, she stared at him blankly, this made his anger more intense, grinding his teeth, he asked word by word,
“Is that why, all these years, you haven’t been able to give me a child.”
She didn’t reply but looked away, she sniffed and he expected a reply but she gave him none. He shook her and then asked again,
“Tell me, is this the reason, you are childless? Are you this wicked Alicia? Why did you do this? It is just this once that you are taking these right? Answer me or you won’t see me well. If you will have to rot in prison just like your father, I won’t hesitate to do that.”
