Introduction

I locked my gaze on william. Anything would be perferable than the situation I'm in right now. It would provide me with an opportunity to fine housing and leave the shelter. I had a feeling it would be nothing like I expected the moment I say yes. "Alright," I replied as william's lips curved into a smile. I had a feeling I had seal a pact with the devil.

Chapter 1

Mellisa's pov

We choose a course in our life that sometimes helps us and sometimes does not. There are those who go to college and find their ideal job. The others then find themselves in an unexpected business. I was the one who ended up in an industry I had no intention of entering, escorting.

Growing up, I had to deal with an alcoholic father and an absent mother. To get into a university, I didn't have perfect marks. I wasn't born into a wealthy household, didn't drive a fancy automobile, and didn't dress in fashionable clothes. I grew up in a disadvantaged family.

I went to school and had dreadful grades. My grades were good enough for me to graduate and go. I packed what little I had and fled when I turned eighteen. I was tired of being subjected to my father's drinking behavior. He would rather drink from a bottle than look after me.

I did odd jobs to supplement my income. I resided in a homeless shelter until I was able to find a permanent home. It wasn't horrible to live in a homeless shelter, but it wasn't perfect either. You must constantly be cautious with your belongings or they will be snatched.

I needed something more fulfilling than this existence. With little possibility of achieving my dream profession or lifestyle, which is what most people seek, I made do with what I could.

As I was busing tables at one of my low-wage jobs, a man approached me. He was dressed sharply in a suit with a tie. His black hair was styled to perfection. I'm not sure what the man was doing in that situation.

"Excuse me, but have you ever been told you might be a model?" With a puzzled expression, a guy inquired.

I sneered, "Nope." This dude was, in fact, attempting to pick me up. It's the worst pick-up line you've ever heard.

I stood there watching as the man took a business card from his suit coat pocket and extended it to me.

As I reached out to take the card from the man's hand, he said, "Take it."

I looked it over to see whether William's modeling agency was written on it.

Looking at the man, I couldn't tell if he was joking or serious.

"This can't be genuine," I said as I stared at the man.

"Oh, it's true, and if you're interested, I'd be delighted to welcome you. It's all up to you. You have the option of continuing to work in a place like this for low pay or pursuing something more meaningful with your life. It's all about making a decision "As he slipped out of the seat and stood up, buttoning his suit coat, the man replied.

I stared at the man as if he were nuts. In reality, this deal does not exist. The stories of rags to riches are fiction. That was not the case in this case.

"The card has my phone number on it. If you're interested, please contact me "Before departing, the man said.

I stood there, shaking my head and staring at the card. I'm not convinced. I'd think about it for a few days before making a decision.

I turned down the offer after a few days. You never know what type of ruses somebody may pull on you. I continued to work at low-paying jobs and was harassed. I fought back as a fighter, and as a result, I lost my job. I refused to be treated like trash by others.

I sank down on the cot I had been sleeping on, despondent. Why was it so difficult for me to get a break? I've had to struggle my entire life, and as an adult, I've had to suffer even more. That's when the man in the fancy suit and his business card came to mind.

I took it out and examined it. I couldn't contact the number since I didn't have a phone, but there was an address. What did I stand to gain? I left the homeless shelter with my ID and money in hand and went the 10 blocks to the card's location.

I entered the building and made my way to the business card office once I there. I noticed women dressed in fine attire as soon as I walked into the posh workplace.

Her makeup was flawless, and her hair was arranged to perfection.

As a well-dressed woman ended a phone conversation, I stepped up to the front desk.

"Can I assist you?" The woman gave me a kind grin.

"I'm searching for a person named William," I said, handing up my business card to the woman. She grinned, her pearly teeth perfectly aligned.

"She's been waiting for you," the woman said, as I stared at her, perplexed. She? I mistook the man I met for William.

As she opened the door, the woman rose up and escorted me down a corridor to an office.

The woman stated, "William, you have a guest." William swung around in her office chair, staring at me. Her silver hair was coifed and she was a lovely elderly woman. She was dressed in nice clothes and had a pricey manicure.

"Thank you so much, Anna. You are free to leave us." The woman turned and departed, locking the door behind her as William dismissed her.

I stood there, scanning William's face and then scanning my surroundings.

I told William, "I was expecting a male." I didn't even bother to look her in the eyes.

"Grayson is my personal assistant. I assign him the task of locating new business opportunities for me. You are welcome to have a seat "A chair in front of her desk was motioned to by William.

As I looked around the office, I said, "Nope, I'm in fine standing."

"Alright, then do we need to talk about job opportunities?" As I wandered around the room, gazing at the pictures on the walls, William proposed.

"Sure, I'll take a guess. You create me a huge expensive model and give me a lot of money "As I stared at William, I made a remark.

"We polish you and show you how to do things correctly. The amount of money you make is determined on the work and how well you do. It's entirely up to you "William clarified.

"I see, and what about clothes?" I asked William.

"That is, once again, entirely up to you. All of those things, and more, have been learnt by everyone who works here. I understand your skepticism, but I promise you that I am a company owner. All you have to do is accept the invitation "William said.

I fixed my gaze on William. Anything would be preferable than the situation I'm in right now. It would provide me with an opportunity to find housing and leave the shelter.

I had a feeling it would be nothing like I expected the moment I said yes.

"Fine," I said as William's lips curved into a smile. I had a feeling I had struck a deal with the devil.
