"Norton, I have good news for you. I'm pregnant", Orva smiled
" What, you can't keep that baby Orva. I'm too young to be a father, I'm still in high school. You have to get rid of that pregnancy", Norton said
"No way, I'm not going to kill an innocent child that has done nothing", she said with tears in her eyes.
" Don't be dumb Orva, you're smarter than this. You can't be a mother in high school not when you're in the final year. Just get rid of the baby", Norton said
"I can't believe you're the one saying all this", Orva said shaking her head while tears fell from her eyes.
Norton came closer to Orva and held he hands but she removed her hand as if it was in a burning fire.
"You disgust me Norton", Orva said with so much disgust and stormed out of his house
"Shit", Norton cursed.
Orva was sent away from her home when they found out she was pregnant. Even the ones she called her friends were no different, they treated her like a nobody. They made jest of her, called her all sorts of names. When she could not take it again, she dropped out of school and started doing small jobs while she was pregnant so that she can take care of her self and her unborn child.
When it was time for Orva to give birth, she did not have enough money to go to the hospital so she delivered a girl on the road. Immediately she gave birth, is started raining heavily. She used her clothes to protect her baby from the rain but it was not enough. She had to go under a shop so that the rain won't harm her baby.
"I don't have what it takes to take care of you my dear child. I have no family, no friend, nobody to look after you", Orva said in tears as she was breastfeeding her crying baby.
When the rain stopped falling, Orva stood up and started to look for where she would drop her child because she could not take care of her. She walked down the streets looking tattered. Everywhere she goes, people look at her strangely like she was mad. Although Orva felt bad but she had to do it so that her child will live a comfortable life.
When no one decided to take her child, she decided to try an orphanage.
"Don't worry baby, everything is going to be okay", Orva smiled sadly at her smiling child.
The next day, Orva went to look for an orphanage, luckily for her she saw one. The name was Blessed Saints Orphanage. She decided to drop her child nearby where they can see her. But before she dropped her child, she wrote her daughter's name on her wrapper. She named her child Kasia Joel and put a mark on her daughter so that she can identify her in the future.
She dropped little Kasia in front of the orphanage and ran to hide behind the tree.
A woman dressed like a nun came out and picked up the child and took her in. Orva watched it with tears in her eyes. She never wanted to let her child go but she could not take care of the child on her own. "I love you Kasia", Orva said to her self and left the place never to return again.
Present Day
Orva remembered how she suffered before she gave birth, how she dropped her little baby in the orphanage. Anytime she sees a child on the street, she remembers her little Kasia.
"Wherever you are Kasia, I hope you're doing fine. Mummy loves you", Orva said sadly.
"Hey, what are you doing there, you are keeping the customers waiting. If you know you want to think all day then why did you come to work", A woman in her mid 50's yelled angrily.
"I'm sorry ma'am, it will not happen again", Orva apologized.
"It better don't or else I'll fire you", the woman said and left.
"Please ma, don't fire me, this is the only way I take care of myself", Orva pleaded.
"Then work, you don't expect money to come by sitting and thinking all day", the woman said.
"Okay ma", Orva said and went to a table to take the customer's orders.
"Good day sir, what would you like to have", Orva asked.
"What if I say I'd like to have you", the man replied licking his lips lustfully.
"Excuse me", Orva said pretending like she didn't hear what the man said the first time.
"How much should I pay to have you", the man asked again.
"I'm sorry sir but we don't offer that type of services here", Orva tried to reply as simple as possible.
"Come on, stop pretending, I know you want me", the man smirked and touched her butt and Orva slapped him.
"Are you mad", the man yelled and the madam came to see what happened.
"I'm sorry sir", the madam apologized and looked at Orva angrily.
"What did you do", the woman asked Orva. Orva was about to explain but the man quickly talked before Orva will expose him.
"I was telling her my orders but she slapped me", the man said and the madam slapped Orva hardly. Orva wanted to explain but she was not given a chance.
"You're fired", the madam said and immediately Orva fell on her knees and pleaded but it fell on deaf ears. She was given her pay for the days she worked and was kicked out of the restaurant just like that.
"Where do I go to from here", Orva thought sadly.
