Prologue

"You really have to go now." Diara said to Jericho who sat on the bed with a HP laptop on his lap. She quickly walked towards the wardrobe in the room, opened it and began to pack his clothes into a small black bag. He has been staying with her for the past one week.

She had walked into her room she shared with Jericho after answering a phone call. Her sisters will be arriving at any moment from now and she didn't want them to meet him.

"Why?" Jericho asked, closing the laptop and keeping it on the bed, giving Diara his full questioning attention.

"Because you are in grave danger. My sister's are coming, they will be here any moment from now, so please you must go now. I don't want you to die." Diara pleaded.

"I am not dying now Diara, I am not a coward who will run and leave a harmless woman behind."

"Who told you I am harmless, uh, Jericho? My sister's are dangerous and they want you dead and you know that yourself."

"Well I am not afraid of your sisters, they should come."

"Why can't you listen to me Jericho, I am risking my life to save you, to keep you safe, now you have to go, find somewhere to hide. I will call you if I survive."

"I am not leaving you behind Diara, yeah I know you once told me you are into a dangerous job and you want to protect me, but I won't leave you behind."

"Yes I'm into a dangerous job, and if you don't go now, I will be forced to kill you," Diara said as she finished packing the clothes and zip up the bag, turning to face him, she stretched out her hand and held the bag to him.

Standing up to his feet, he ignored her outstretched hand. "I am not going, not without you." He told her with seriousness.

"You don't understand Jericho, you don't, I am a killer," Diara finally said, telling him a bit of her secret.

Jericho smiled, his blue eyes staring into her chocolate dark eyes, "Then you don't know me, Diara."

Before she could say anything, she heard her front door breaking and hurried footsteps entering her apartment.

They are here, they are really here, not just for Jericho but also her.

She had failed them.
