Simoni, the tall and warmhearted gentleman from Tuscany, belonged to an upper-crust family that owned sprawling vineyards and olive groves. After they said “I do,” Simoni and Angelica traded the Tuscan sun for life in Asia, where they bought farms and ranches. The family business thrived, and before long, they had Karina and Andrew, two beautiful kids with a delightful blend of their parents’ best traits.

Unlike her girlfriends, who change boyfriends like they change outfits, she knew what she wanted: a mature connection. “I don’t know why, but I’m drawn to older men- two to five years older is just right!” she laughs whenever her friends tease her.
When she met the charming Leonardo Song, a smooth three years her senior, she was instantly intrigued. But their romance wasn’t smooth sailing. After a year together, Leo had to return to his home country in Asia to help with his family's business, leaving Milan behind. Despite the long-distance challenge, they kept their love alive, managing visits three times a year and keeping their chats flowing.

One Year Ago
“Baby, I know this hurts, but it hurts me too.” Leo held her closely, gently wiping away her tears. Karina felt utterly weak, unable to find her voice, just wanting to cry her heart out.
Only three hours earlier, she had been elated, bursting with joy when she saw Leo waiting for her in her living room. With a surprised scream, she dashed into his arms, thinking, “Is there anything better than being in the arms of the one you love?”
After what felt like an eternity of hugging, Leo’s silence wrapped around them like a heavy blanket. He held her tight, but there was something off. the glimmer in his eyes was missing.
“What’s wrong, baby? You missed me so much? You look so mushy!” she teased, unable to resist leaning in for a kiss. A quick peck turned into something electric as Leo pulled her closer, their lips dancing together.
“Wow, Leo! You’re on FIRE!” Karina thought as she got lost in the moment.
When he finally pulled back, he chuckled, “I missed you, Karina. Sorry, I got carried away. I must have lost my mind when I saw you again.”
Even with the underlying tension, Karina felt warm and giddy inside.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming? You do know my birthday is in two days, right?” she playfully nudged him as she pulled him into the living room.
“Thank you, babe! This is the best early birthday present ever!” Her eyes sparkled with excitement.
Caught in the magic of her captivating smile, the kind that could melt any heart. Leo held her hand, kissing it as if she were a princess. “You’re getting more beautiful each year, baby. I’m a lucky man to love you and know someone as incredible as you.”
Karina’s cheeks flushed with warmth, but curiosity danced in her mind. “Why are you so extra sweet today?” she asked, her heart fluttering.
“Is being apart for five months really that hard for you?” she teased, feeling a surge of happiness at his affection.
“Did you eat yet? Are you hungry? I didn’t have time to cook or hit the supermarket, so if you're starving, let’s eat out! Or I can call for pizza delivery. What do you think?” Her words tumbled out in a breathless rush.
Leo chuckled, a bright smile on his face. “My lovely Karina!” He looked at her with such fondness. “Let’s eat out! I miss the Italian weather. I’m craving risotto, osso buco, a cappuccino, and gelato!” He skipped to the door, excitement radiating off him.
