"You. What?" His beautiful blue eyes stare at me intently.
Questioning my sanity I guess.
"You heard me right?" I looked back at him give the same intensity he was giving. "I don't have all the liberty in the world. I need a child," she let out an exaggerated sigh. "I didn't wish to be alone, in this hustle and bustle world. And for me to obtain it I need a sperm donor." She speaks without breaking their eye contact.
She was conveying the message that she was not joking around.
"And you raise the child alone? You're a woman." He said with a questioning look.
"What's wrong with that? Are we questioning here gender equality? The last time I checked we're leaving in a modern world. And a woman can do anything without the help of a man. And I'm not Cinderella, this is not a fairy tale, and unicorns can fly." She may be exaggerating but his boss is driving her nuts.
"Woah. Easy there I'm not your enemy here. So, I was saying, you are a woman. And raising a child alone may be a bit difficult for you. You need a man to help you with everything," and he looked at me with tenderness in his beautiful eyes.
He is so damn handsome and he is not mine. Deal with it. Every time I looked at his eyes, I'm drowning with so much emotion and my heartbeats in an abnormal state.
My heart skips a bit when I saw he smirked.
"I... I don't need a man. I... Mean... Fine, you see I'm a nerdy type of person and I dress like I'm still stuck in the '80s." She let out a sigh before continuing. "Maybe, that's the reason why at this age I'm still single. I'm not lovable, and I know that." The reality slaps her hard.
She is not pretty.
She is not lovable.
She is alone.
Maybe, she will vanish in thin air with a sick reality that she's still a virgin.
Her boss stays silent. He was just looking at his champagne glass drowning in his thoughts. While I looked at the restaurant looking at the people minding their own business. Some are savoring their meals.

I nodded.
