Chapter 1

In 201X, on Blue Star, in the nation of Huatian.

Note: a parallel world.

A dull thud rang out.

Inside the chaotic bank, Bradley Young had barely stepped through the entrance when his vision exploded with stars and he collapsed hard onto the floor.

Because his family was broke, he stopped studying right after high school and went out to work. With someone’s help, he landed a job as a junior administrator in a commercial district.

He had only been at it for two months when he ran straight into a bank robbery. Just his luck—he happened to be nearby on an errand, walked in at the worst possible moment, and an extinguisher came flying at his head. Darkness swallowed him instantly.

As he drifted at the edge of consciousness, a strange voice echoed in his mind.

“Ding. Wish System successfully bound. Newcomer gift pack is being generated.”

“Ding. Congratulations, Host. You have obtained three wishing opportunities.”

Bradley, dazed and barely hanging on, couldn’t think anymore. One thought filled his mind: I don’t want to die.

“Ding. Wish granted. Host has obtained skill: Injury Recovery.”As the system’s voice faded, the explanation hit him: no matter what kind of external injury he suffered, his body would fully recover within five seconds. Right after that, a wave of warmth surged through Bradley Young, snapping him back to consciousness. He reached up, rubbed his head, and stood up like nothing had happened.

Even a clay idol has a temper, let alone a hot‑blooded teenager like him. The moment he realized what was going on, he didn’t bother to think—he just roared, anger blasting out of him, “Who the hell smashed me?! I swear I’ll smash you right back!”

“Ding. Wish fulfilled. Host has obtained the skill: Throwing Mastery.”

“Explanation: As long as it’s within the host’s physical limits, thrown objects will have a 100% hit rate.”

Another rush of warmth pulsed through him. Bradley let out a shout, grabbed the fire extinguisher beside him, and hurled it at the nearest robber.

Bang.

The extinguisher flew like some kind of homing missile, slamming straight into the masked robber’s forehead. With a dull thud, the man collapsed to the floor, his condition unknown.

The whole thing happened too fast. Both the panicked bank staff and the robbers froze, all stunned by this kid who suddenly jumped out of nowhere. One of the robbers, his face hidden under a stretched‑out stocking, suddenly jolted back to his senses. He shouted and jerked his gun up, ready to fire.

Bradley Young’s heart lurched. He glanced around—nothing left to throw. In that split second of panic, a thought flashed through his mind: there was still a coin in his pocket.

“Ding, Throwing Mastery activated.”

A crisp snap followed.

In the blink of an eye, the coin shot straight into the robber’s open mouth. The man froze, then collapsed to the floor, clutching his throat and rolling in agony.

“Boss!”

The last remaining robber, a chubby guy, let out a horrified howl and raised his machete, charging straight at Bradley.

Having taken down two robbers in a row, Bradley’s nerves were stretched tight. He couldn’t afford to hesitate anymore. In his mind, he roared, “I wish for the power to beat this guy!”

“Ding! Wish granted. Host has obtained: Tai Chi Mastery.”

A warm surge flooded through his body just as the chubby robber closed in.

“Use force against itself.”

Bradley muttered under his breath, dodged the incoming slash, and tugged at the robber’s arm. The man immediately stumbled, completely losing his balance. Then he followed up with another move, Wild Horse Parts Its Mane. His hands swept from behind and smacked straight onto the fat guy’s head.

The fat guy looked like he’d been hit by a truck. He forced his head around to glance at Bradley Young, but before he could even scream, foam spilled from his mouth and he collapsed on the floor.

Silence. A suffocating, dead‑still silence.

Just like that, all three robbers were taken down?

The bank staff and customers who had been ready to bolt froze mid‑motion, staring at this kid like he was some kind of glitch in reality. The whole scene felt painfully awkward.

“Ding. You have shattered the robbers’ wish to rob the bank. Free attribute point +1.”

“Ding. You have fulfilled the bystanders’ wish to be rescued. Wish value +1.”

“Note: When your wish value reaches 10, you may make a wish.”

Bradley Young stood rooted to the spot, dazed, listening to the system voice echoing in his head. His emotions tangled into a big chaotic mess.

“System? What system?”

“Don’t tell me… I’m about to hit the jackpot!?”
