Chapter 1

*Sigh* A long sigh came out of Amy’s lips as she slumped to her seat in a corner of the coffee shop.

She stirred the coffee in front of her with an absent mind when all of a sudden a high pitched cute voice was heard throughout the entire café.

"Mommy!", ‘Woah the mother must be so embarrassed right now.’ She thought when she suddenly felt a little tug on her lap.

She looked down and saw a chubby little kid facing her from below. The Kid was so cute that her embarrassed face immediately melted and she thought. ‘Oh My gosh How cute! How could anyone be embarrassed to be this little boy’s mother.’

The little boy had chubby cheeks and his eyes reminded her of her own. A bright bluish hue with a slight purple tint.

‘wait, did he just call me Mommy?!’

‘O..K.. Did I perhaps lost a fracture of my memories and gave birth to this cute boy without my knowing?!’ She thought as she tried to pinch the little boy’s cheeks when she suddenly heard a voice that immediately tugged on her heartstrings.

“Jelly!” All of a sudden, the café turned quiet and she looked up to the source of the phenomenon. Amy stared wide eyed to the man that just came in and was clearly heading her way.

‘Oh my Adonis. Is that a god?! How did my life get here?’ Anna suddenly remembered why she got here in the first place.

It was right after work when Amy was called by MR. and Mrs. Miller. She opened the door to the sight of the 2 elderly couple who she calls family, sitting on the couch, with a worried look present on their faces.

“Is everything okay? “ Amy asked as she set her bag down on the floor while making eye contact to the broken hearted looking couple.

“Amy, come sit.” She heard Mrs. Miller said beckoning her to the chair in front of them.

Amy sat down and waited for them to start their explanation.

“…Marie is gone.” Mrs. Miller started which made Anna surprised.

“What?!” Amy Exclaimed.

“ She eloped with a classmate of hers in school and left this.” Mr. Miller said as he handed Amy a note.

‘ Dear Grandfather and Grandmother,

I’m eloping with Dick, don’t look for me. Hehe.

Love, Marie'

Amy read the letter with a deadpanned face.

“Is that all?!” Amy exclaimed as she turned the note over only to see an extra note that stated. ‘P.S. That is all.

“We didn’t think she would hate the engagement this much.” Mrs. miller said as she dabbed a handkerchief on her teary eyes.

“Don’t worry, Mr. and Mrs. Miller I’ sure she’s going to be okay, I’ll go look for her.” Amy consoled the elderly couple and tried to get up to hopefully start looking for Marie.“She couldn’t have gone far.”

“ Oh no dear, we know she’s going to be fine.” Mrs. Miller suddenly said.

“Eh?”

“It’s the meet up tomorrow we’re worried about!” Mr. Miller stated with a fright-stricken face.

‘Tomorrow?’

‘Oh yeah, she was supposed to meet her fiancée tomorrow at a café, is that why she ran away?!’ Amy thought as she placed her palm on her forehead.

“We spoiled that girl too much.” Mrs. Miller said as she sobbed into Mr. Miller’s arms.

“That’s why Amy, can we ask you for a favor?” Mr. Miller suddenly asked while still cajoling his wife.

“Yes of course, anything.” Amy answered.

“Will you take Marie’s place temporarily?” He asked facing Amy who had a hesitant expression. “Of course we won’t force you, but if we break the promise we made to the Lowell head, we might face his wrath!”

“This is just for awhile until we find Marie. Please dear? You do look a bit like her.” Mrs. Miller got up and held unto Amys hands.

“Of course, anything for you guys. I’ll do anything to repay you for saving me.” Amy said as she hugged Mrs. Miller.

“Oh Amy I am so sorry.” Mrs. miller said. “I should have taught Marie better; this is all my fault.”

“No don’t be, I’m sure Marie will return after she’s cooled her head off, she might have just been shocked by the sudden marriage engagement, she is still young after all.” Amy said stroking the hair of the elderly woman.

After the meeting with the Millers, Amy went back home to her own apartment and laid down on her bed staring at the ceiling.

She thought back to the situation awhile ago.

‘Marie has always been a good kid. She helped me through the therapy when I first woke up and couldn’t remember anything. She was there to support me.’

Amy felt conflicted, She hated how Marie abandoned her grandparents to seek out her own happiness, but at the same time, she wanted to support Marie. Marrying someone you don’t love must have been agonizing for her.

Amy hoped for Marie to come back, but also for her to not get caught and live a free life.

‘Ashton Lowell’ Amy thought as she grabbed her phone and googled the name.

There were barely any photos of the guy and he was the current head of the Lowell Business Empire. He has a son from a previous affair, but the woman is unknown.

There were a lot of rumors, where the mother was probably a sex worker that got pregnant, but after that there were barely any scandal of Ashton Lowell being with any woman.

‘So, he has a kid.’ Amy thought as she stared at the blurry picture of Ashton her phone, when suddenly her head started to hurt.

“Okay, enough phone for tonight.” She murmured as she placed her phone on top of the side cabinet.

“Hope everything goes well tomorrow.” Amy murmured as she fell asleep not knowing the happenings of the day after.

“Jelly!” Amy was brought back to the present by the voice of the man that somehow gave her a sense of familiarity.

“Mommy!” The cute boy also chimed in trying to get Anna’s attention.

Amy stared at the guy in front of her and thought.

‘Marie is a lucky girl.’
