Chapter 1

  Daisy

I sighed loudly washing the last cloth

  I felt relieved.

I've been working since morning and I'm so happy that I'm done.

"You silly girl, aren't you done yet?" My aunt yelled from the bedroom.

"I'm almost done" I said and finished rinsing the clothes before hanging them on the drying line.

"Aunt, am done" I said and she turned to look at me.

"You can go" she said and I was surprised.

  Won't I atleast eat something?

"Aunt.... can... I.. get some food?" I stammered and she gave me a deadly glare making me gulp down nothing.

I scurried to the corridor and sat down sobbing quietly.

  Mum! Dad!

Why did you leave me to suffer to like this?

Why didn't you take me with you?

I placed my head in my open palms and sobbed ..

"If you're done crying then take this and buy all this from the market" I heard my aunt's voice say and I looked up to see her holding a list and some money.

"But aunt.... I've not eaten since morning" I protested and a thunderous slap found its way across my cheeks.

"Don't you dare.. I repeat don't you dare oppose my decision or else I'll take you to where your miserable parents have gone to" she added and pushed the list and money into my hands before walking into the house.

I stared at the unending list and sighed.

I wore my only slippers which was already close to its grave and I walked out of the house.

I wiped the sweat on my forehead and leaned on a pole.

Where on earth will I find Cornflakes in this whole market?

All the shops I went to said they don't have.

A speeding car splashed water on my cloth and I gasped while the car halted.

I restrained myself not to yell because I know am from a poor family and honestly I never wanna have any issue with rich kids .

The back door opened and a girl about 15 years old came out.

Her dress and aura screams wealth and power.

"I'm.. sorry" I said trying to walk away but she held my hand back.

  What!

I'm seriously not in the time to fight.

I don't wanna get myself into trouble.

  "I'm sorry... please... I....

"It's okay pretty lady, it's not your fault. It was all my fault. I'm sorry" she said and I gasped.

"Wait... Did you just apologize?" I found myself asking.

"Of course I did" she said and I was really surprised.

"Not all wealthy people are as saucy and rude as you think except my elder brother" she said and I smiled.

"Why are you out in the sun. You're hurting your pretty skin" she said and I blushed.

"Come in let's have a little chat" she said and I looked at myself before looking around me.

  Wait!

Is she talking to somebody else or meeee?

"Me...?" I asked in shock and she nodded.

I didn't know the time that she dragged me inside the car.

My body relaxed as the AC cooled my body.

This car must have cost a fortune.

I looked around the car like the village girl I was.

  This is so pretty..

"You like it?" She asked and I nodded.

"It's cool" I exclaimed wondering how a rich girl can be so open minded to a stranger.

"I'm Melanie and you?" She asked stretching out her hand for a shake.

"I'm Daisy" I said taking the hand into mine.

"Such a beautiful name for a beautiful girl" she said and I blushed for the umpteenth time.

She brought out a device and brushed my hand through it.

"Sorry" she said with a smile and I nodded grinning.

"If you don't mind, can I know other things about you. I mean your background?" She asked and my face fell.

  "I.... I... " I stuttered unable to talk.

"It's okay if you don't wanna talk about it. Not everyone are privileged to be rich" she said holding my hand.

"It was so nice meeting you Daisy. I hope to see you again some other day" she said as I stepped out of the car.

"Good bye Melanie" I waved at her and the car took off.

  Phew!

  What a nice meeting.

I received a resounding slap immediately I entered the house.

"Where have you been?" Aunt said and I placed my palm on my cheeks.

"Aunt, I couldn't find Cornflakes in the market.....

I couldn't complete my sentence as a heavy blow landed in my stomach.

Several blows landed in my stomach and mouth and I couldn't bear it.

  I blacked out immediately.

  Nathan

"Mum you won't believe this" Melanie squealed and showed her phone to mum.

"Melanie please can you just stop shouting?" I ordered

I sat comfortably on the chair typing something on my laptop.

There's a partnership business I wanna do and I really need to concentrate and focus on it.

I've been so busy for the past few months attending one meeting or the other and sorting out some important files..

"Nathan are you even listening to what we're saying?" Mum asked and I looked up.

"What were you saying?" I asked focusing on the laptop again while punching it furiously.

  Melanie

"Mum you won't believe that their horoscopes match perfectly. Mum they're the perfect match and guess what I already made friends with her" I said with so much excitement.

My brother has been single for long so this marriage will work out perfectly and maybe he'll stop being rude and also stop being a workaholic.

"Mela, let me see" mum urged and I bent the phone to her level.

  She gasped and I grinned.

  "It perfectly match" mum exclaimed.

"Do you know where the girl lives? What's her name?" Mum threw the questions at me and I just sat watching her.

"Her name is Daisy and I don't know where she lives" I said and she looked disappointed.

"Why didn't you ask her?" She asked and I remembered something.

"Don't worry mum I'll just find out where she lives" I replied and she nodded happily.

Soon our Mr Workaholic will be so busy with his wife that he won't be able to ping on his laptop or phone again.
