"We'll just call you, next!" I was out of breath when they said the same thing, this is the fifth job I applied for today but they just repeated what they were saying. I tried again and it just said ‘we'll just call you’. Dad said that when he said that, you wouldn't be accepted. Earlier my stomach was churning because I was so hungry, but I was enduring it because I had to satisfy my five thousand bucks because I didn't have a job yet. Earlier I was looking at a diner where I could smell the delicious dishes that made my stomach grow even bigger. It's late and I haven't eaten yet, I've only eaten biscuits before. I was not restrained and I approached, I immediately salivated when I saw there were foods there that I rarely eat in the province.
"Ma'am, can I have one rice." ‘It doesn’t matter, when I get paid, I’ll eat that too. ‘Not right now because I’m still a bit short.
"Man, can I ask for some soup?" I sat down at an empty table and put down my things. While there was still no food I took the photo I was carrying. This is our family picture. ‘I miss you so much, this is the first day we don’t have dinner together.’ We are five siblings and I am the eldest, mom and dad are farmers. So I was forced to stop studying because college was too expensive. When my order arrived, I ate immediately, the only problem I had now was where I could stay today. It's late and I probably won't be able to find a place to live now. ‘Lord, I hope I can get a job tomorrow. Hopefully, I’ll have a place to stay tomorrow. ’I hurried to eat because the saleswoman was calling me.
“Can you please eat faster? ” even here in Manila I will be judged. It looks like I’m going to get worse at this judgment than it was in ‘min. When I paid, the saleswoman scolded me.
"It's okay and I'm leaving!" I just didn't scold her and left quickly.
I went for a walk and ventured to find someone to rent, but I didn't really see anything.
I saw people take cardboard out of the trash can and make it into a bed. ‘Maybe I can sleep there, just one night. So you’re Isobel! For your family, aja! ’
I took a carton and carried it to the side of the road. I also have with me children and adults who seem to live here. It really softens my heart the most, to see the elderly on the road, without shelter or food. Someday, when I make money or finish school, I promise myself that I will help them.
When I went to bed I made a pillow for some of my clothes and I hugged my bag containing my money tightly. Fortunately, it's not too cold today.
As beautiful as the stars are, they all shine. I slowly closed my eyes and prayed. ‘Lord, thank you for giving me today, thank you for not forsaking me. Thanks for the food and the new day you gave ‘me. Hopefully, my family and I will stay safe. And hopefully, I can find a job tomorrow. Thank you for everything, Lord. ’After I prayed I went to sleep.
I just woke up when the cars started making noise and the sun was rising. I immediately got up to get dressed. I went to the nearest cr and got dressed there. Maybe it's okay if I don't take a bath now. I'll just take a shower with a little of my perfume. ‘New day new hope. You can do that, Isobel! Fight for your family! ’
Even before eating, I started wandering around looking for work. But at nine o'clock I still couldn't find anything. ‘You can do that, Isobel!’ I kept reassuring myself. Earlier, I was embarrassed by the people I applied with, because a guard wouldn't let me in. Because of my physical appearance, it always really is.

"You're hired." I almost cried when the interviewer said that. This is probably the best I've heard today. Finally! I already have a job, and it's still in an expensive restaurant. I was hired as a waitress, I hope I get a good job here.
When I left I decided to look for a tenant first. Coming from the restaurant I went for a walk to look. Fortunately, I found something right away and it was pretty close to where I would work. Thanks and I don't have to pay for the fare because I can just walk there. It's the cheapest I've ever seen, it's okay with me as long as I have a roof to sleep on and shelter.
"Man, this is my payment." I said at once reaching 1500 rents this month, it's a good thing that in the first month the water and electricity are still free so it's just right for me to save. The owner just nodded and handed ‘me the key.
"There are two beds, someone has already rented one bed. Maybe the next day someone will come with you there. ” I just nodded to the old woman and entered. This apartment is okay. He is too small for two people, when you enter you will see two small beds side by side. Then in front of it there is a table, and just five steps away is the kitchen and there is a cr. I started arranging my belongings in a small cabinet.

When the income is large, we eat three meals a day, but when it is small, we only eat in the morning and at noon, and at night we just sleep hungry. We suffered even more when I was in senior high, sometimes we only ate once a day. So when I graduated from senior high, I immediately started working on the farm. So I decided to go to Manila because I knew I would earn more here. I have a greater opportunity here. In order for me to go to Manila, we sold a buffalo. I was really brunette when I was young, so when I worked on the farm I became even more brunette. No, not that brown, really dark. In elementary and high school I was always bullied because of my physical appearance. Dark, curly, and skinny, the opposite of my siblings. My four siblings are super white. That when they are exposed to the sun they just redden and do not darken. When I was in elementary school I couldn't help but be jealous of my siblings. I used to ask my mom and dad why I was different from my siblings. Mom just said that when she made me pregnant she liked to look at curly hair and she always ate dark foods. When I was in high school, my envy of my siblings disappeared. I suddenly learned to love what I had.
My work starts tomorrow so I need to rest and go to bed early.
I've been trying to sleep before but I can't sleep because of the amount of mosquitoes. There is an electric fan but that is not enough to make them disappear. For me, even without an electric fan, as long as there is a mosquito net, it's okay. When I have the money, I will buy a mosquito net. When the mosquito finally got a little smaller I fell asleep.
