In the middle of the night when the whole city was asleep and the darkness surrounded the world, some light was coming from the window of an apartment. Inside the apartment, a woman was standing in a room with a pencil in her hand and a canvas in front of her. She was intently staring at the canvas on which a picture of a beautiful wedding gown was drawn. Several pieces of paper were scattered around the room. She was looking at the canvas with displeasing eyes. She was about to take that drawing off and take a new paper when suddenly, she heard the doorbell ring. She looked at the clock and saw that it was 1: 30 am in the morning.
" Who could it be at this hour ?" She muttered under her breath and went to the door.
She peeped through the door hole and saw that her neighbour was standing there. She let out a sigh of relief and opened the door.
" What's up, Sally? Is everything alright? You look pale. What happened?" Emilia immediately asked when she saw Sally standing there with a bed head and a panicked face.
" Emi , There , there..." Sally was trying to speak but was having difficulty in doing so. Seeing her in that condition, Olivia knew that something was up so she immediately pulled Sally in to her apartment and sat her down on a sofa. She then went into the kitchen and hurriedly water into a glass. Taking the glass, she immediately returned to where Sally was and handed her the glass of water. After five minutes, Sally had pretty much calmed down. There was pin drop silence in the room when Emilia spoke breaking the silence that surrounded them,
" Now tell me, Sally. What happened?"
" Have you been taking loan from people?" Sally didn't reply to Emilia's question. Instead questioned her back.
Emilia looked at her and then asked,
" What happened? Why are you suddenly asking me that?"
" Just answer my question. Did you or did you not borrow money from people?" Sally asked again but this time her voice was a bit louder.
" No, Why would I? Do you really think that I would borrow money from people. I have my own business which is going well and you know that." Emilia replied truthfully.
" Then, Why are there people asking about you with guns in their hands?" Sally asked looking into Emilia's eyes.
" What? Where? Can you tell me in detail?" Emilia asked shocked.
" I was sleeping when I heard knocks on my door. I opened the door to find several men standing there asking about you. They also had guns in their hands. That is why I assumed that you borrowed money from them. " Sally explained the whole thing.
Emilia's heart sank. Her head felt dizzy. It can't be, right. There's just no way, right. It's been three years. Why would he come for her now? Sally saw Emilia staring into space and then said,
" Emi, What do we do? Should we call the police?"
" No, where are they?" Emilia asked in a small voice.
" They are in my apartment. They said that they would wait in my apartment and told me to go and get you."
Bang, Bang, Bang. As soon as Sally finished speaking, they heard banging on the door. They both became intense but then Emilia stood up and went towards the door. As soon as she opened the door, she came face to face with the man she so wanted to forget. She froze completely not moving an inch when the man seeing her smirked and then entered the house while pushing her.
" Emi, What happened? Who was......" Sally didn't complete her sentence when she saw a man standing there in the hallway.
" Sally, Can you please go back. I know this man. I have to talk to him." Emilia said and looked at Sally.
" but,....." Sally was about to say something when Emilia spoke again,
" Please."
Sally looked at Emilia and then at the man and then left but only after telling Emilia that she will be in her apartment and to immediately shout if anything happens. Emilia nodded and Sally left.
After Sally had left, Emilia immediately asked with a shaky voice,
" You, How did you find me?" .
There was a silence after that. But, then the man spoke up,
" That's not important, What's important is that now that I have found you, I will not let you escape again." Emilia looked up at him to find him smiling.
" Wait a......." Emilia was about to say something when she felt an acute pain in the back of her neck. As she was losing consciousness, she found herself losing consciousness and the last words she heard before finally losing consciousness were,
" Have a good rest, My dear wife."
