It was a beautiful Saturday morning in the City of New York. Mrs Garcia woke up to find one side of the bed empty. She searched the room for her husband only to find him coming out of the bathroom in a bathrobe and talking on the phone.
"Thank you so much," he said and ended the call
"My love, guess what?" he said after greeting his wife with a kiss
"You know I don't like guessing games. What happened?" Mrs Garcia asked
"We got the invitation to the Billionaire's meet," he announced with lots of excitement
"Are you being serious?" Mrs Garcia asked suddenly looking alive
"Yes, that was what the call was all about. The ticket to the event would be delivered by noon today," he informed her grabbing a shirt from the closet.
"Aww my darling husband, since the day we got married this is the best thing you have done for me," she praised making her husband frowned
"Really?" he questioned
"Yeah, what good thing have you done for me aside from cheating on me with our house help," she retorted getting out of bed
"How many times would you bring that up?" he questioned feeling bad
"Until you send the results of that cheating out of this house," she said looking at him with a frown.
"I can't?" he said and returned to the bathroom and she also entered the bathroom after rolling her eyes at his response.
Mr Garcia saw her enter and sigh.
"It was a mistake which I regret every day. Please forgive me and let it go," he pleaded
"I can't let it go when the result is here constantly reminding me of what you did eighteen years ago," she said angrily
"I would go get the tickets for the evening programme," he said in a sad tone and exited the bathroom.
Downstairs, he walked into the dining area to find Olivia setting the table for breakfast.
"Good morning sir," she greeted and he responded with a 'hmm'
"Where is Camila?" he asked
"She has not come out of her room yet, sir," Olivia replied
"Tell her to come down for breakfast," he instructed and Olivia left his presence to get Camila Garcia
"Where is Camila?" Mrs Garcia asked
"I have sent Olivia to get her," replied Mr Garcia sitting behind the table.
Camila came down a few minutes after and joined them for breakfast.
"Your brother Jonathan is coming today. It would be great if you go pick him up at the airport," his father said
"Go with Olivia so she carries the luggages," Mr Garcia chipped in
"Mum, brother and I can handle it. Besides, Olivia would be preparing lunch," Camila said
"I said go with Olivia and let her carry the bags," Mrs Garcia repeated
"So who is going to prepare lunch?" Camila asked feeling her mother was being unreasonable
"Your brother would not arrive until 1 pm. So she should get lunch ready by noon and go with you to the airport to help carry your brother's bag," she said
"End of discussion," she added and took a bite of her toasted bread
Mr Garcia looked at her briefly before turning his gaze away. He knew how much his wife hated Olivia, the child he had with the servant girl who is now no more. She will seize every opportunity to make her work like a donkey and hit her every little chance she gets.
After breakfast, Olivia came to clear the table and Mrs Garcia instructed her on what she was supposed to do before leaving the dining area with her husband and daughter.
She left the house a few minutes after to the beauty salon to get ready for the evening programme and Mr Garcia left to pick up the tickets for the programme.
Later that day, as instructed by Mrs Garcia, Camila left with Olivia to the airport to pick up Jonathan Garcia. He had been invited over to come help with his father's business and also learn a thing or thing so he could take over when the time comes. He was arriving from Canada where he was working as head of IT for a Hotel.
Olivia sat at the front with the driver while Camila sat at the back browsing through her phone.
They arrived at the airport and Jonathan was there waiting. He smiled seeing his little sister walking towards him. Camila was just a month older than Olivia. The two ladies looked the same which Olivia's beauty glowing despite the ragged clothes she was wearing. Camila looked very expensive and had on makeup which brought out her beauty yet her beauty would not surpass that of Olivia who had no makeup o and her hair was just tied up in a pony.
"And my sister came to get me. Isn't that wonderful," Jonathan teased hugging her but couldn't take his eyes off Olivia who was just standing there waiting to grab his bags.
"You are welcome, sir. Please your bags" Olivia enquired standing on the side
"I didn't bring any bag," he replied still staring at her till Camila hit him in the chest breaking his stare.
"How are you?" he asked and they all walked out of the airport towards the parked car.
Olivia sat at the front and Jonathan and Camila sat at the back chatting. Jonathan suggested they pass by his favourite barbecue restaurants before they go home since their parents are not at home anyway. The car stopped at the Hometown Bar-B-Que Restaurants and they both went inside leaving the driver and Olivia to watch the car. They spend some time there before returning home. Lucky for them, they got home before their parents.
"Welcome home son," Mr Garcia welcomed and Mrs Garcia greeted him with a kiss on the cheek
"Thanks, Dad, and what's up for the evening? You look different," Jonathan said looking at his mother
"And your son notice and you didn't," Mrs Garcia said looking at Mr Garcia
"We are going for the Billionaire's meet," replied Mrs Garcia
"O mine, mummy, that is awesome, can I come?" Camila asked
"Aww sweety, we only got two tickets to the events. Plus it is just for business deals," she explained and Camila frowned
"I would go visit Isabella then," she said in resignation and went up to her room.
Mr Garcia engaged his son in a conversation briefly as he waits for Mrs Garcia to get dressed.
"I am ready," she announced as she descends the staircase into the living room looking glamorous in her evening gown and expensive sparkling jewels.
"You look gorgeous," Jonathan praised and Mr Garcia agreed quickly not wanting to be the last one to notice his wife.
They left the house a few minutes after for the programme.
Outside, Mr Garcia opened the car door for Mrs Garcia to sit. He joined her in the back seat and the driver who sat behind the wheel put the car in motion driving out of the compound. They made a quick turn onto the main road and drove towards a roundabout.
"The night is going to be amazing. I can feel it," Mrs Garcia expressed
"I am glad you are happy," he said and planted a kiss on her cheek.
The car made a third exit at the roundabout and after it was a straight drive to the location of the programme.
