“Mavis! What is the meaning of this?!” my head aches, but still I was able to wake up when Aunt Ysabella's furious voice echoed inside the whole room.
In just few seconds, all the events last night that I will never forget immediately flashed inside my mind. I raises up from bed and was greeted by the weeping and raging eyes of Aunt Ysabella. Her hand trembled as she stares at me and the person beside me. I looked down at the man next to me and shed tears when I realized what he had witnessed. My body automatically trembled as I turned to Aunt Ysabella.
I hurriedly grabbed the blanket to wrap around my body and almost stumbled out of bed where the man was still unable to recover from what was happening.
“A-aunt! Aunt, I’m sorry! Sorry! I'm really s-sorry. ” My hand trembled as I hugged her while crying. I didn't know what to do, it just felt worse than I expected.
“I raised you well Mavis! How did you do this to me ?! Where did I miss out ?! I didn't miss telling you couple of times of what you should and shouldn't do, or did I ?! What is going on in your mind ?! ” All I could do was cry because I knew in myself I was so wrong, that I had done so wrong.
I pulled away from her and cried clinging to the blanket as it almost fell. I have nothing to say, I can no longer apologize even though I think I should keep telling her how sorry I am.
“Mavis,” I turned to Kiara. My friend whom I’m sure brought Auntie here. I stared at her in tears and she gently shook her head and then supported Auntie to help me. I thought she would only be mad at me but I was shocked when she quickly confronted Draven.
“You're a man, aren't you?! What did you do to my niece?! ” shit! I must do something.
"A-aunt d-don't!" I stopped her from trying to slap Draven, who now has no clear emotion on his face.
“Tell me Mavis ?! Did this man force you ?! Just tell me and I will sue him!” fuck! This plan does not include suing.
"A-aunt, no...W-we don't know what --- how we l-led us into this… believe me." Draven was so overwhelmed that he didn't seem to know what to do and think.
“What will happen to you? Are you even thinking?! Why did you let this happen ?! You're smart, but why?! - ”
She could no longer continue what to say, she was crying hard. The pain of seeing her makes me cry over, I just hurt the most important person in my life.
"Take us to your parents." Aunt glances on Draven which surprised me and so did he.
“W-what?” Draven asked confused not knowing how to deal with Aunt.
“I will not let this pass, at my age you can't just touch a woman's hand and if you did you have to marry here. Now take us to your parents because you have to take responsibility for what happened between you and my niece. ” Draven's eyes shifted om me and I could see traces of anger in the kind of look he was giving.
"A-aunt, that's t-too much, we can't force him." Am I too bad to pretend that I don't want to, even though that's really my plan?
“No! You're a girl! And even if we say he didn't force you, you're still a woman! It will be your loss and not his! So he has to hold you accountable and I will not file a case against him. ”
“A-aunt…” Draven is rich, I know that even if we file a case against him, they might just turn the situation around and we will be put on their situation.
"You two get dressed, we'll wait outside." She said with finality on her voice before they left us.
I looked at him nervously and I could see the anger in his eyes as we met.
“Bullshit! Do you know what mess you just made?! ” He sighed angrily and frustratedly ran his finger through his hair.
“Look at you! For fuck sake ?! Who will believe in my family that I was able to take you?! ” Tears welled up in my eyes because of those insulting words he hurled at me.
"I-I don't know k-how it happened ---"
“You can fool everyone but I'm not, Schneider! I know you like me, and I know you plan all of these shits to tie the two of us, don't you?! ” Something stuck in my throat because of what he was saying. I cried as I was shaken, and then held the blanket wrapped around my body tightly. No! I don’t mean all of these, if I only have more option I won’t come up in this kind of situation. I'm not that kind of a woman.
"I don't really want this to happen, believe me." Why it has to be him? Of all men why it has to be Draven?
“Bullshit! I will never believe everything you say Mavis, remember that! No matter how close you are to me, I will never be able to love you! And no matter what happens I will never love a pretentious woman like you! ” That was the last words he said before picking up his clothes and put them on in front of me. He came out first so I sat up weakly and cried.
Aunt Ysabella is disappointed to me, Draven hates me. Fuck! What have you done Mavis? You only not ruin your life, you also ruined the lives of the people you love.
No matter what happen, I’ll accept it because after all it was really my fault, the blame is on me and I’ll face it.
I wiped away my tears before returning the thick glass. I just rinsed and rinsed with mouthwash before combing my hair in its frequent style. Buried at the top. My hair is too long to put on, then my aunt told me that it looks cleaner.
I just stared at myself while not wearing any clothes except undergarments.
I can’t believe I just did it.
‘This is your only choice, do it to make him safe…or just let his life put in danger without doing anything, I am telling you red. This is the best way.’
I shook my head after what I remembered. If I had a choice rather than this, I wouldn’t go for it. Draven hates me now.
I put on the long sleeves and pants again before going out. I caught up with Draven leaning against the wall of the hotel room that had been the scene of one night’s mistake. His gaze was sharp on the floor, and as soon as I came out he quickly turned to me.
“Tell your aunt, don’t ever make a move that will ruin our name. You don’t know what I can do, Mavis. ”
I just nodded at him. He ignore me and averted his eyes as went down first. I wiped the runaway tears from my eyes and followed him. We reached out to Aunt and Kiara. Auntie was an idiot and had obviously just finished crying. Kiara puts it on, which I know has been effective. Kiara was the only friend of mine at the university I was attending.
We both took the BS-Architecture course, became classmates and sat side by side.
"A-aunt," Aunt didn't look at me, but she turned to Drei.
“Where is your car? We will board there to make sure you don't run away from us. ” It just nodded at Auntie as if she had no real intention of running away from us.
"Follow me." Maybe one of the things I liked about Drei was his respect for his elders no matter how angry he was, his respect was still there. He let us into his car and quietly drove toward their house. I was expecting that much but I was still amazed when I actually saw their house.
The size and very modernity of the exterior design, I wonder if the interior design was as good as the exterior. We got off as soon as he parked the car in front of their house, we were met by some helpers to guide us inside.
We caught up with Draven’s parents who were sitting on their expensive sofa and obviously waiting. I’m sure Draven had already told me about it so my knees immediately shook when I saw the formality and authority on the faces of Daddy and his mommy.
Draven’s dad is the older version of him. He took all the features of his dad, maybe in height he got the same because his mommy is also tall. Maybe the only thing he got from his mommy was the thick eyelashes that were a bit curvy and deep brown eyes and whiteness.
"Good morning, I'm Reida Monticello," Drei's mom introduced herself.
"Ysabella Cabrera," She shook hands with my Aunt and shifted her gaze to me before turning to Drei.
“This is so disappointing Draven Reil, I told you to stop playing with girls right?” Nagged of his mommy. While his dad remained silent.
"Calm down Reida,"
"How will I calm down Drave?! You’re so much ‘consensual’ that your child is doing whatever he wants to do! Draven! When will you mature? You’re soon to be one of our engineers! And sooner, you’ll handle our businesses! But until now you still haven't grown up! Until when are you planning to disappoint us?!”
“Mom…” His mom wasn’t consumed with his consumption so I just bow down and bit my own lip.
“What’s your name hija?” I looked up at Drei's mom when she asked this question.
"Maria Vienna Schneider, just Mavis."
"Are you still in college?" I nodded.
"What's your course?"
“BS in Architecture at D.U”
"I see,"
"I'm sorry, but I'd like to talk about what will happen to my niece."
“Yeah, we are too. We would also like to apologize, for our son. We know that guy is stupid so we decided to learn that lesson and make sure… we want them to get married. ” I looked up and pursed my lips. Draven adjusted his seat.
"If that's okay with you, and with you Mavis." Drei's dad replied.
“Dad ?! Mom ?! What the hell? ”
"You have no say about this Drei, shut up."
"For me, that's a better decision." My aunt agreed that I was depressed.
“Then it’s a deal! We have no problem about this matter right? Welcome to the Mavis family. The wedding will be next week, because we are leaving the country in the third week so we need to get them married immediately before we leave. ” I turned to Drei's mom and she smiled at me. Auntie squeezes my hand and so I could do nothing but smile slightly and frown.
As what I’ve expected.
I am going to be Draven’s wife. When I accidentally looked back at Drei, I was so nervous that he looked at me so sharply.
‘Remember red, when the plan goes well. You need to stick on it until the end. Your marriage isn’t for lifetime. When he’s finally safe, you need to let him go.’
