Hi. My name is Mpho me and my family live in a small town in Zimbabwe called Ha-Mutsha. We live near the river it is a very big river. I live with my mother Maria who is maid and works in town for this other rich family she is only 29 she got married at a young age and became a Yong mother but that didn't stop her from attending school she is a qualified teacher but there are no teaching jobs available so she has to find a way to provide for us, I also live with my dad who is a mechanic he works for a big company but earns peanuts and my little brother Theo he is in grade 4 yes we are two years apart and am in grade 6.
My mom and dad got married at a young age and the plan was to get married then move to South Africa but theworld is a hursh place. My parents earn enough to get us by. Am not an A student but I try am also not that good in English but I try because I don't want to struggle like my parents. my parents have always wanted to travel around the world but they can't because of me and my baby brother.
My village is a peaceful place it is colourful and the people there are very nice everyone knows everyone. But we have a very huge problem everytime it rains the houses by the River valley washes away.
And I heard that in a few days the will be a very big rain I just hope the river doesn't full or all the houses will be washed away including our house.
After three days
The was a very very heavy rain it washed away everything out house, our clothes everything was washed away we didn't have anything. All we had was each other and the clothes we got on. my parents decided that it would be better if we moved to South Africa and they had enough to move but we need passports and proper documents.
So my mom's employer allowed us to stay in their home but in a three bedroom house I didn't have to share a bed with Theo I was so happy. I felt like kiss Mrs Ayaba's feet. This was my first room. And we also had to change school and we could only see dad on weekends because he was working to jobs during the week.
After what felt like a year we went and took our passports and visas. I was so happy I had never been out of our village before and now am going out of the country. And my mom had also applied for a teaching job, but she would be teaching kids. I guess she was a kindergarten teacher. And they also found a flat and a job for dad as a mechanic.
We went back to the near by village where my grandparents lived to say goodbye but they still didn't want anything to do with my parents since they got married without thier consent. Yeah it is really a hush world
My dad's boss gave give an old rusty Toyota it was blue, it had 4doors and it was a five sitter but it was better than nothing and it still runs fast . After a few days we pack up and head to the Borders it tooks us about three days but we got there safe and I got to see my beautiful Zimbabwe I knew it was beautiful but I did not know it was this beautiful. I felt a rear drop when we reached the borders but what can I say. It has to be done.
When we reached the borders everything was set and ready to go the moment we got into south Africa I felt a little bit of fear and excitement I mean am coming to a new country to start a new life wow this is a dream come true. My mom Said that "we will stay here in Messina for three days just to for us to get some rest and relax before the real Trip begins" I was excited I mean wow.
We stayed in Messina for three days we did some shopping since we didn't have proper clothes. And when those thread days were over we began traveling to the mother city of South Africa Cape Town. My dad says that " Cape Town is a very nice place it has a beach and a lot of things you kids have never seen before" now that made me even more excited because I have never seen a beach before.
We travelled for 6 hours till we reached Joburg my mom is not a very good navigator so we got lost a couple of times on the national roads. But we pulled through. We slept there for the night.
It was a motel but a good one the rooms was my entire house. My mom Said we had to sleep on the floor since it was a one bedroom apartment so we fell asleep there for the night.
In morning
We woke up my mom ran us a shower I had never used a shower to bath before we always bathed in a larger bowls but ever since I came to south Africa I have been introduced to new and exciting things.
We got back on the road again I was so happy that we were back on the roads.
After 17 long hours we finally got into Cape Town. I must say it is very beautiful more than I expected It to be I am truly blessed. I was amazed I don't even know where to start.
